Chris Hughton was inspired when he got the Newcastle manager job a short 20 months ago, and we think the same thing is happening to Alan Pardew.
Alan Pardew – made good start to Newcastle career
As we’ve said before, Alan has made an impressive start to being Newcastle manager, and he seems determined to be in the job for a long time, as his intention is to settle on Tyneside, and buy a new home.
And in the last two games, the lads have simply dominated the games against Blackburn and Birmingham, and got 4 points, although we deserved to win both games.
In 9 days time, the lads will have a chance to beat the side directly above us by a single point in the league, Bolton Wanderers, and jump above them and hopefully also get closer to Sunderland, who are just two points above us.
Newcastle have become a very organized side over the last month or so, and it’s good coaching that does that, so the plaudits go to Alan, John Carver and the rest of the coaching staff, for drilling the lads so well in training, because it’s starting to show up on match days.
I’ve just watched the Birmingham game for the umpteenth time, and it’s clear the players know what they have to do at every single juncture, and that’s great to see. You talk about being well organized!
Alan has been completely blown away by the passion that is Newcastle United, and he has already participated and played his part in one miracle on Tyneside already, the amazing comeback against top side Arsenal.
And Arsenal beat one of the world’s best sides – Barcelona 2-1 last night – in a game that was simply a joy to watch. Yes, we remember well when Newcastle beat Barcelona 3-2 at St. James’ Park in European competition, in September of 1997 to be exact, when Kenny Dalglish was the manager.
If any players don’t want to have a high work-rate at Newcastle (why does Laurent Robert come to mind?), just show them how Barcelona play the game, and look at the work Lionel Messi puts in when Barcelona don’t have the ball, it’s just phenomenal to watch.
This is what Alan Pardew had to say recently, about the very famous Newcastle United fans:
“They’re crazy about their club and their team, and there’s a responsibility that comes with that, but I can’t think too much about that as I wouldn’t sleep at night!”
“I just try to put it to one side and enjoy it.” “I know how much pain there is when we don’t win.”
“It’s mad. Before the game at Blackburn, we went past a pub, and there were 2,000 Geordies.” “You’d think it was an FA Cup semi-final – it was amazing, and it really boosted us.”
“We talked about it, and said we had to make sure we didn’t start like we did against Arsenal.” “The fans played their part in that.” “It’s proper mad, but in a good way.”
If Newcastle can beat Bolton in our next game, the feel-good factor will fast be returning to Tyneside, and then we basically have a game every weekend through the end of the season.
That’s a full week to prepare for every single game, and with injured players coming back quickly, who knows – we could even end up much higher in the table, than we ever imagined possible last August.
If we can do that it will be a second fantastic seaosn in a row for the Newcastle United club. 😀

Christ alive lads – it’s been doom and gloom all day. The Enrique rumors are just that rumors – quotes from the Mail of all places is anything but concrete – everyone is now calling for his head and wants him out. He is still a toon player!!! Give it a rest and get behind him.
As for the AP bashing again give it a rest – if it was anyone else in charge we’d be singing from the rafters. The Newcastle job is the toughest in the premiership – you can’t even take a pi$$ without 52k people telling you your doing it wrong. He certainly wasn’t my first, second, or anywhere near the top ten choice but he is the man in charge and he has done a bloody good job. I appreciate the role of the blog is to voice opinions but christ some people on here are fickle.
It’s no good getting worked up about who’s coming and who’s going because we can’t do sweet FA for the next few months. We are simply in a results business at the moment – yes AP will be judged on the summer but for now it’s all about results and if someone had offered me 35points and 9th at the end of Feb i’d of bitten their hand off for it. But if that’s not enough for you (and clearly some people on here it isn’t) you can pi$$ off and support Scumberland instead.
I’m 100% behind the team and the manager HWTL!!!

i have always said imo ash will make sure he gets his money , whatever he has spent, back before he sells, AC was a good start, jose, toto, collo, anybody worth a few bob will go,then when we have no assets left , players who we can sell for good money, what would be the point of him staying at the club?none , what has he got to stay for, he knows he would have to spend money, and thats not going to happen again he will move on.

Comment #94the way i see it i am not Pardews greatest fan but like Hughton before him he has to be allowed to fail and tottaly fail at that, hes not doing great but hes not doing too bad, so let him do his greatest job in football, lets show some pride and not cut him down untill we get an answer, it could just shock the lot of us, at least lets hope so.

Comment #95So Andy what is your grand master plan? You mates with a few billionnaires looking to invest in a premier league club? You got mates in the FA who don’t mind bending the rules to let us sneak a few transfers in? Thought not. Til the end of the season all you can do is get behind the team. It worked pretty well against arsenal.. Clearly you know best so I’ll leave to your paint pot, brush and Ashley Out banners.

Comment #96Any Mac – You make a really good point and out it across well. The fact is I will support my team no matter what, ashley can not drive me away, it’s not his team its ours.
However, like you, I can see behind all the bull PR that comes from the club, and fear deeply for the club with Ashley in charge. He has zero interest in turning the supporters back onside, those days have long gone, and he as proved as much with the Hughton sacking.
It is well known that Pardew is indebted to Derek Llambias for a fair amount of money, from the casino. and I have heard from a good source, tho I’m not claiming this is in anyway fact, that when Carroll was sold by FCB, Pardew offered to resign, then FCB offered him a pay rise.
I think people need to look at what is happening to the club, at the top level. Support your team regardless, but I don’t want irreversible damage done to the club, by someone who has no interest in its wellbeing or the fans.
I would say I’m going to gloat in the summer when we sign noone, and sell players, but I don’t want that to happen.

You lot are pathetic at times. Bitching and whinging because a paper who is notorious for lying about Newcastle, who got barred from the club and, if I recall correctly, has been taken to court regarding their libellous statements and falsified tales.
Let’s, for a second, assume that Bull did say that – let him go. Why keep a player who doesn’t want to be here; whatever his reason? He’s a great player but there are other great players who can fill his boots. Taiwo, Van Aanholt, the list is huge. Yes it’s a loss, but a loss we can handle and move on from. Players leave; deal with it.
On the other hand it could very well be an organised attempt at getting Ashley to up the money.
Whatever the reason: it happens, stop crying and looking for somebody to blame. I swear some of you still think we’re in the Champions League and can attract huge name players.
Also can we drop this “we’re a big club” shite? We’re a newly promoted team who hasn’t won anything in half a decade. Barca are a big club, Inter are a big club as are Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal – we are a big club based on our fan base and large stadium, that’s it. Most of you are delusional, I swear.
Whatever happens is going to happen. Let’s just support the club and cheer the players on – they’re the ones who have done us so proud, let’s enjoy what they’re building for us, because it will be around long after they’re gone.

Comment #103It’s annoying because I see it in both ways, supporting the team is your only option, but unfortunately that’s what FCB counts on.
If you look at it like this, every week, he gets grief chants etc, but he knows that every week 40-50K will turn up so he doesn’t care.
He can continue to make ridiculous decisions that hurt the club. I almost feel sorry for people who are talking about players in the summer,
this window has proved it all to me. Thing is I don;t know what action is actually possible, Barca are fan owned, as members but a difficult one to implement.
I just want Ashley gone from the club 🙁

ash could sell this club any time HE WANTS what has stopped him fromselling in the past? greed, asking stupid money fot a club not worth half as much as what he wanted, also tried to sell the club in dubai, never turned up, went on the hoy instead, not the best way to promote your club IF you want to sell it, now he has nothing left to sell, what will he take? it wont be any where near the £350 -£400M he was asking last time

Comment #105So you’re saying you’re a plastic, Andy? You’re unwilling to support the club and ridicule anybody who has the audacity to question you with some pathetic ad hominem arguments that are barely relevant. Either you’re laughing through your red and white shirt, or you’re somebody with a self esteem issue who feels the need to ridicule people on the Internet who doesn’t share your beliefs.
Support the club or don’t bother at all. It’s really that simple.
Once again the Sarge comes online and injects a good amount of common sense and logical thought in a good old fashioned sentence.

Comment #106Thump, I have a funny feeling that you are right. I said in a post before that I find it all very strange that all of a sudden players are saying that they want to wait and see before signing new contracts. I have a funny feeling that the Enrique statement (if true) is media trained from Barton and Nolan. I just wonder if Pardew has realised that Ashley is not to be trusted and through the players calling Ashley out.
Sgt, how are you? Loads of news but not really news as it’s just more of the same. Feel really sorry for you being drunk at 2pm I had to wait till 8.45pm before I opened my first.

Comment #113cmon guys, stop whinging about each other, this is just a blog, stop being negative, what you said may or may not be true, but you are being a negative influence nevertheless, just try to look at positives, that is the attitude. dont start being poor again.
if you are a supporter of the club, stop your judgmental attitude, the coach is not there to please you one person, his job is to make this club a success going forward. either you support it or not.
do you have the money to buy the club? guess not.
do you have the talent to play? guess not.
do you have the skills to be the manager? guess not.
stop complaining about you paying ur ticket money, you are there because you wanna be entertained as much as support, dont go if you dont like the management etc.

We are the but of every joke and MA doesn’t make it easier. I’d be a fool to say things can only get better for the club because I know the next drama is around the corner. In those situations like the appointment of cr@p managers, sale of star strikers and all the other sh1te that is thrown at us, is rise above it. Comment #119Three things.
This post started with Ed telling us that Pardwho was doing a great job and that AP was “blown away” by the tremendous support blah.
I wrote, originally in support of Chuck, to give an alternative view to those who believe that Pardwho is the next KK. I hinted that he’d learnt the way to most supporters hearts/loyalty/wallet by telling us all what a wonderful bunch of people we are and how loyal we must be.
Third and final point (provided we can ALL keep to the subject without wondering off) Pardwho has history not only at other clubs but, most importantly, at this one.
“Andy Carroll’s Going Nowhere
This one is so blatant I hesitate to even post it, but what we said….
“Players like Andy are the future of this club”
-Derek Llambias 08/10/2010
“Andy Carroll was at the top of my list of questions because he needs to stay, this club has been crying out for another number nine and he looks like he’s fitting the bill, so I made it very clear that he needs to stay.”
-Alan Pardoo 10/12/2010
“Andy’s career path is here, he just has to keep working hard. We have to have a big-club mentality and hold on to our best players.”
-Alan Pardoo 21/12/2010
“It was good that Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias made that commitment that Andy is not for sale. I’m pleased about that. We won’t be selling any player that we don’t feel needs to be moved on.”
-Alan Pardoo 06/01/2011″
This bloke is a MOUTHPIECE of the club. Having had his career resurrected from the dole queue, he does what he is told.
PS Before anyone else repeats it the “Support the club or don’t bother at all” response is the last futile attempt to try to win a lost cause.
I support the team and the fans I do not support the Fatman. End of.
