Newcastle Still Have Everything To Play For

With Liverpool surprisingly losing at West Ham yesterday, and not looking too good either, Newcastle still have everything to play for in their final 10 league games of the season.

Nile Ranger battles with Stuart Holden on Saturday

Newcastle remain in ninth position in the league, one point behind a struggling Sunderland side, who are at Arsenal next Saturday,  and have lost their last four league games.

Newcastle have a tough game at  home to Everton, and it will be another tough game for sure, against one of the hardest teams to play against in the Premier League.

Alan Pardew talked today to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle:

“We’ve got everything to play for,” “From a manager’s point of view it was a tough day,” “We had a bad break at the start of the game by losing Joey in the warm-up.”

“That was 20 minutes before the game. Ryan Taylor came into the game in his place, and we didn’t notice the seam if I’m honest.” “I thought Ryan was terrific, and perhaps we should have been 2-0 up. That’s the galling thing.”

“I’m frustrated about that, and then we gifted them a goal. As a manager, I’m frustrated about that.” “The ref was annoying me too.”

“Then poor old Ryan took a bad touch in the central area, and tried to make up for it by being over zealous in the challenge.” “He’s got sent off, and he hasn’t got a malicious bone in his body.”

Everything seemed to go against Newcastle side on Saturday, and the lads again had no luck whatsoever – as usual.

Bur surely the team are due some of that luck soon, as we’ve taken 14 points from our 9 league games this year, (15 goals scored and only 8 conceded), but have deserved more points, given some fine performances the lads have put in.

We’re told luck evens out over the length of the season, so maybe Nile Ranger can score the winner in injury time against Everton, and two minutes after injury time should have ended would be even better. 😀

Nile again looked very good over the last 25 minutes or so fo the game, and he’s coming on just fine since Pardew arrived at the club, and he almost scored the winner last Saturday with a great header, but was flagged for offside, and he was – by just a little bit.

That’s the luck, or the lack thereof  we’re talking about.

Im so happy at the mo, i havent felt this excited to be be a newcastle fan for a long time! If somebody had told me at the start of the season that with 10 games left we would be 3 points off a europa league spot i would of slapped them! and now with Tiote saying he doesnt want to move to London and he is settled in Newcastle makes me so happy! now i just cannot wait to see what happens in the summer and who we might be able to attract to this wonderful football club! It may be a rollercoster ride but my god its worth every tear (happy or sad)!!! HWTL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Raylors rash challenge was out of desperation to impress. Shame really as he done well up until the challenge.

Ranger will have more confidence from scoring even though it was offside. He scares the hell out of tired defenders when he comes on.

We are in a great position in the league but I can’t help but think we should be at least 9 points better off. Where would that put us now?

Hopefully the lads can have a final push and finish as high up as possible so we can get some good players in over the summer.

    HWTL!!!!!!!!!!!

Europe looks out of the cards for us. With Brum winning the league cup, unless they get relegated, we need to aim for 6th for that spot – depending on who wins the FA cup. For any Euro aspirations, we’re going to want Man City, Man U or Arsenal to go for it.

I don’t care if we don’t get into Europe – as long as the Mackems don’t either!

I probably worded that wrong about Raylor. Basically, if he backed out he would be slated for it. Was silly though.

Nile has the same issue as many strikers like Torres etc. he just needs to score his first goal in the EPL for us and then he will kick on, just like Merielles did at Liverpool didnt do anything good until his first goal and then he scored like 4 more and has looked impressive.

I’d like to see Shefki getting more than a 5 minute cameo on Saturday. He really roughed up Bolton’s defence. Ranger starting 2nd half and maybe 20 minutes with Shefki .

petey, is that definite? Although it’s no surprise. I know what would have happened if his name was Barton. The FA demand respect. They seem to forget that respect has to be earned. So I will continue to show them the respect the deserve. Ef off FA effin ar**holes.

Willo got 3 games (or was it 4) for less against Bolton away. Rooney knew exactly what he was doing, and in my opinion, if the defender/midfielder had gone down, Rooney would have walked.

GG, it’s confirmed alright. Nothing makes me seeth more than such incidents and the inept action taken! If that was in the street – a completely unprovoked, cowardice assault from a guys blind spot – he’d be locked up. What’s the difference between that and what Joey notoriously did? Elbowing a fellow professional in the skull, purposely, doesn’t he know the damage you can cause with even a single head blow? Probably not because he’s a fat, ugly ape-like retard!

I have to say, AP has impressed.

I was not a fan of his coming in, but everything he has said has been honest and, basically, true. He seems to have a way about him, and the lads are responding to him well. I love his concentration on signing our nucleus to long-term contracts. This is imminently sane. If our club can just achieve some stability and reinvest the 35+million wisely, who knows where we could see ourselves.

Oh, and Rooney should have been tossed off for sure. That was criminal. The FA will be dealing with that one. It is tiresome seeing ManU get call after call after penalty after penalty in their favor.

Like your title Ed. Looking up for a change, instead of looking down. I think Ireland will thrive at NUFC. And, if we pick up a few more points start some young talent, AP. Look what happened with AC. If it wasn’t for the championship he may never have gotten his big chance. Finally, AP, START Ranger!

    Satyr -post 16 – I couldn’t agree more.

Pardew has impressed me too in his sensible approach and he could hardly have done better. I just hope we keep our key players this summer and I am pleased to see he’s honest when he says things like every player has his price. Hughton may have kept that to himself. I loved Hughton for the fantastic job he did but I must admit that Alan Pardew is doing very well and he might even make us clinch a Europa Spot, although achieving our main goal of survival would not dampen my spirits. That was our main target this season after all. I have no doubt that if we invest wisely in the summer and keep hold of our best players we will be at least a top ten side for years to come. We might clinch Europa next year or who knows maybe even a Champions League spot as soon as next year. We have never had such a united group of lads on the pitch and off it and that will rub off on other incoming players ie.Cheick Tiote. It’s a mouth watering prospect just thinking of what we could achieve if we do well in the summer.

How are you meant to jump up and compete with a big centre half for a header without putting our elbows out? Do you see any forward or defender jumping without their elbows stuck out? All target men do that, Drogba, Ibrahimovic, Carroll.

What Rooney did was premeditated and malicious. He went out to hurt someone on purpose. Shearer didn’t do that, he just competed to in the ball.

    SCUSE THE UPPER CASE

KEVIN KEEGAN HAS JUST MADE A AN AMAZING STATEMENT ON RADIO NEWCASTLE

HE STATED THAT PARDEW WILL NOT BE GETTING ANY OF THE £35 MILLION TO SPEND ON PLAYERS ..SAYING THAT ASHLEY WILL NOT BE GIVING HIM ANY OF IT AND THAT POOR ALAN WAS KIDDING HIMSELF IF HE THOUGHT HE WOULD BE ALLOWED TO SPEND ANY OF IT IN THE SUMMER !

THIS ONE STATEMENT BY KEVIN HAS DONE US ALL A MASSIVE FAVOUR !!!!

HE STILL HAS HIS HEART AT THE CLUB AND IS KEEPING AN EYE ON THINGS

HE HAS DONE US ALL A MASSIVE FAVOUR WITH HIS STATEMENT AS IT PUTS MASSIVE PRESSURE ON ASHLEY TO PROOVE KEVIN WRONG AND THATS WHAT KEVIN WANTS !

SO THANKS KEVIN YOUR STILL DOING A JOB FOR US !

PLEASE PUT TOGETHER A CONSORTIUM AND TAKE OVER THE CLUB THAT BOTH YOU AND YOUR FATHER LOVED

REMEMBER KEVIN’S FRIENDS IN THE MIDDLE EAST THAT BOUGHT NEWCASTLE A LUXURY COACH ? WAS IT THE SULTAN OF ?? BRUNAI .

GET ON THE PHONE KEVIN.. CONSORTIUM PLEASE

Online Guy – I wouldn’t say KK is doing us a favour tbh but I do hope this extra added pressure on Ashely works our way. I honestly think The Fat Man will invest some of that money this summer. I don’t think it will be the whole 35M but there will certainly be some activity. KK should keep his mouth shut and just watch the developments and maybe gather the cash to buy Ashley out, till then he should keep quiet as all he is doing is causing unwanted unrest.

I think that’s what he meant, JP. As much pressure as possible on the board will ensure we get some cash.

It won’t be the full £35m btw because that will also include the wage bills for new players and contracts. It will be more around £28m.

Also we only got £30m up front, will we have the extra 5/6m by the window opening?
