Rob Lee – Andy Carroll Deal Could Become Good For Magpies

Former Newcastle midfielder Rob Lee is hoping that Alan Pardew can rebuild the Newcastle squad this summer, with the money the club got  from the sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool.

Rob Lee – while at Newcastle – he was just great!

Even though Kevin Keegan has rather surprisingly said that Alan will see nothing of that money, Pardew seems certain he will get at least a large slice of the Carroll transfer money and has already said:

“Mike Ashley made it clear when Andy Carroll went that the money will be reinvested in the squad and I have no doubt that it will be.”

Alan has said he wants to bring up to five players to Tyneside this summer, and we also hope he can keep hold of both Joey Barton and Jose Enrique.

Rob Lee was a team-mate of Pardew’s at Charlton Athletic and knows Alan quite well, and he seems to be pulling for Alan, and hopes he can make a success of the Newcastle manager job, and certainly Pardew has made more than a decent start at the club.

Rob Lee told the local  Evening Chronicle today:

“If you sell your best player for £35M and the money is re-invested then it is a good deal.” “I think Alan Pardew is quite confident that the money will be re-invested, I hope they invest the whole lot.”

“I hope they buy well. They need to bring in another center-forward for sure.” “They need a regular scorer still because goals win games and they haven’t got that guaranteed source of goals right now.”

“Alan knew when he took over the job that he had a tough job on his hands.” “He was out of work and he wanted the job. It’s a fantastic job for anybody.”

“He knows Mike and Derek well and hopefully he will get the money.” “We have to watch this space. You can’t be too pessimistic because of what has happened in previous years.” “

We feel quite confident that Alan Pardew will get full backing in the summer of the Newcastle hierarchy to significantly strengthen the squad, and we may have to do in both quality and quantity because there’s still a chance, a slim chance, that the lads will qualify for the Europa Cup next season.

That would be almost unbelievable, given where the club was a very short 20 months ago.

£35 mill to be spent on transfer fees and salaries was the quote from Dellboy when Judas was sold. Tiote new contract is worth £50k a week x 52 weeks x 61/2 years is £17 mill in total.
Is this coming out of the £35 mill?? If it is and Enrique still to tie down we can forget about £10 mill plus signings. No money left, potless, skint, Ashley needs a rethink if this is the case!!

I don’t think even Ashley is stupid enough for him to not realise that the squad needs strengthening even if we keep everyone who is here at the moment. I am sure he will give Pardew money who has to make sure he spends it wisely. I don’t expect any £10m+ buys as I don’t think that is Fat Tw*t’s strategy. Buy good young & cheap and sell for big profit is the order of the day.

I’m sick and tired hearing whether the 35m will be spent how much will MA give AP, sick of hearing Carrolls name.
Let’s just focus on what we have and just till atleast June or atleast May to bring up this discussion again .

Suggests Pardew has no faith at all in Danny Guthrie, who is on bench. Shola also among subs – Ireland not in squad. #NUFC

    3-5-2 I suppose.

3 centre halves, Enrique and Simpson as wing backs.

Rob Lee says,“We have to watch this space. You can’t be too pessimistic because of what has happened in previous years.”

Why not? Its called ‘learning from experience.’
