The Daily Mail is reporting today that Newcastle may be interested in RCD Espanyol winger/striker Callejon.
Callejon – Espanyol striker or winger
The 24-year-old started his career at Real Madrid and played 40 times with 21 goals for the Real Madrid B team in 2007-2008, which is their reserve team, but never played for the first team.
At the end of that season, in the summer of 2008, he left Real Madrid and signed a four-season contract with RCD Espanyol.
Since then the 5’10” tall played has played 79 times for Espanyol with 8 goals, and is said to be attracting interest from Premier League clubs.
Everton and Wigan Athletic are said to be interested in the Spaniard, along with Newcastle, who are said to have watched the player earlier this month.
Espanyol are having a decent season in the La Liga and are currently lying in 6th position.
Callejon (full name Jose María Callejon Bueno) has played 4 times for the Spanish U21 side, but we have no idea whether this report has any truth to it.

Comment #3yeah i hope this is true, because he is very very quick and skillfull but his finishing is a bit dodgey. maybe we could use xisco in a swap deal or something?? maybe getting another spaniard might tempt jose to stay??

Comment #7If we sent Xisco there, and bring Callejon is a great transfer. He is a dribbler, good speed, but his finishing is bad.
