Newcastle Cannot Let Enrique Go Cheaply This Summer

The news at Newcastle is that they are resigned to losing Jose Enrique in the summer.

Jose Enrique – wants to leave Newcastle this summer?

We know that Liverpool and AC Milan has been interested in acquiring the Spanish U21 left-back, but one thing that concerned us with Jose, is that he would go on the cheap since he has just one year left on his contract in the summer.

So the news today that AC Milan are ready to bid £10M for the left-back may be some good news.

Jose has resisted in signing a new contract on Tyneside, and the official line is that he will not negotiate until Newcastle are safe in the Premier league.

But that seems to be only a ply to delay the negotiations,  and it wouldn’t surprise us if Newcastle are negotiating right now with AC Milan to sell the 25 year-old, who seems to want to leave Newcastle for pastures anew.

If the news is accurate and Jose is wanting to leave then so be it,  but Newcastle should play hardball and they seem good at that, and try to get as a big a fee as possible for the impressive Spaniard.

Hopefully, they will then use that money in the summer for a suitable replacement, but  whether that will happen and Mike Ashley will reinvest the cash – we have no idea.

The news out of Italy today is that AC Milan are impressed with the Spaniard’s performances this season, and that’s not surprising, and they want to beat Liverpool to the player by offering Newcastle £10M.

If Jose wants to stay on Tyneside we would be delighted, but if he really wants to move on, we don’t think the club will stand in his way.

We only want players on Tyneside who want to be at Newcastle, and we have to admit that Jose has been great for Newcastle over the last four seasons.

And even if Jose leaves, the Bull will still be fondly remembered by Newcastle fans for his all-out and gutsy displays for the Magpies.

From the gloom and doom reporting, you will have to support the shirt, as there will be no one we know from this year in it next year.

This talk all sounds like what you get when American professional leagues expand. If all the NUFC squad leaves or is sold before new bodies come in, (as AP predicts – no signings till August) it will be the malcontents, over the hills, not quite there’s and never will rise to it’s that will sign on make up the roster. So an interesting year to come.

if he doesnt sign then we would be forced to sell him elsewhere oldbob, and a free enrique would probably be a draw for even barca or real madrid.

    I really hope he stays,

But if jose leaves newcastle ,

I will hate him for the rest of his career and i wont give him any credit for what he has done for newcastle.

If he wants to leave to earn more money or go to liverpool, then f**k off and adios traidor

Taiwo from Marseille isnt good enough to replace enrique…

If he goes we want at least 12 mill for him, which is cheap in my opinion.

Man City paid 17 mill for Kolarov ? (enrique is just as good as kolarov)

Hope collo and jonas switch his brain back on, and he decides to sign a new contract?

He said he will evaluate in the summer which i reckon first day we finish the league and if we are safe they will bring him in and give him the contract he wants along with Barton etc.

if he leaves for spain or milan then there could be other reasons than just money, if he goes to liverpoool or spurs i would be extremely shocked, but if he ends up at madrid then i wouldnt hold any grudges against the bloke.

Baines, Zog, Jarvis. There’s the whole left side sorted.

I think Jose made his mind up way before the Carroll saga. This one’s a fallout from the CH debacle. Once Pardew was appointed, I believe it took Jose a couple of weeks to decide. I think the Twitter clash, best illustrates the timing of his mindset.

Let him go, I’ve been a fan of him since day 1. He wasn’t as bad as people make out, when he first arrived. You could see he had talent. Let’s just say “adios amigo” and move on. 🙂

“The news at Newcastle is that they are resigned to losing Jose Enrique in the summer.”

    Where is this news?

He hasn’t renewed his contract and other teams want him. So what!? He’s definitely leaving now?

I think what’s happening at the moment is apalling; players stalling on renewing contracts to see how we do at the end of the season. HOW WE DO IS A DIRECT RESULT OF WHAT THEY ON THE PITCH.

It’s their job to keep us as high in the table as possible. All of this “I want to play my entire career at Newcastle” is just a load of flannel when they might have to actually fight to keep the team in the league.

Barton and Enrique were two of the players that helped us down a league last time. Fair play, they stuck around and helped us back up, but what the hell was the point in that if they’re not going to stick around and fight tooth and nail for the cause, now it’s starting to look a little sticky again. It’s a rot that can only really be stopped on the pitch BY THE PLAYERS.

Sign your contracts and shut the f*ck up.

Some people here are like the boy who didn’t get the girl, and he still wants her, just because she said no. Zog is a ####head. Bad attitude, bad temper, prima donna. Just a bad influace and bad personality. + not a superstar player and there are plenty of players like him without all the negativity that he brings.

    Jose – don’t go 🙁

    And 37 BEN ARFA 37
why there is so much anger? We never know exactly what is happening behind the scene, and all of this is even still rumors. Why you throw so much filth on Jose? A player can move on. He continues with us right now, when we went down he didn’t leave, he is still here.

    Enrique has good as gone.
I want him to stay but no jack palance.
has been excellent for us and has ambitions reallistically winning trophies. Would walk into any of the top sides in Europe.

Gotta try and see if we could get Van Aaarholt back on a permanent deal. Cole is well established and Zhirkov seems popular with the manager.

Enrique is probably my favoirte player for Newcastle… His strength, speed, skills, agility, great positioning, timing, vision, passing, crossing, long balls are all absolutely second to none!… People saying that we could replace him are idiots… He is possibly the best leftback in the premier league and I certainly wouldn’t swap him for anyone… 10 million for Enrique isn’t a good deal at all, it is a massive loss!
Fat Ashley… Get your finger out and start giving the good contracts to the players who deserve it!!

We need to build a team around our best players… (Enrique, Colo, Tiote, Ben Arfa and Barton! I’m sick of taking one step forward and f**king two steps back all the time!

Of course Enrique wants to leave. How can anyone say they would hate him if he left. Everyone feels he is one of the best left backs in the league if not the world so why would he want to stay here? he stayed with us when we went down and has showed incredible loyalty, has worked hared on his game and now has the chance to move to a bigger club. If you signed for Espanyol and Madrid and Barca were interested in you, would you go? If he is going, i would love him to sign for Barca as i feel they need a left back, he would improve as a player and become a Spain regular and probably recognised as the best left back in the world which he deserves. Just put it in for the rest of the season Jose and setup a few more goals.

If management enter negotiations with Jose with a positive attitude we should be able to re-sign him. I reckon they would need to offer a 5 year deal worth 75K a week as a guess because of his tremendous performances for us. What would be wrong with that? A positive sign for other players and his sell-on fee would be huge! Where do these rumours of him leaving come from? I see no direct quotes anywhere. Let’s see what happens in the summer. There will be plenty of time to criticize Ashley if he lets us down again.

Mike Ashley needs to come out and explain his plans for the clubs future,
I think the players have got fed up with the lack of ambition Ashley has shown over the years, does he want the club to challenge for a european place? is he going to spend money in the summer? is he planning on selling the club soon?
Players are in limbo and the sackings of different managers over the years is coming back to haunt Ashley, he needs to decide what he is doing!!

Having supported the TOON through thick and thin for over 50 years, the way things are going are finally starting to get to me. Players that wanted to spend the rest of there careers at NUFC, are suddenly wanting out, unfit players seem to be taking an age to get fit, season ticket renewal used to be in June, now its March and next year its going to be February if you have opted for the 10 year plan, and NUFC been NUFC if you pay by DD, first payment on the 25th of March then next one 1st April. To me it looks like a case of getting as much money in as possible for what! Pardew is now playing down possible new signings – it really is becoming depressive.

Im sick of these type of articles postedover and over again and how he is a certainty to go because the journal said so. What will happen will happen and thats that.

Look at the Rooney saga earlier in the season where people said he was def going and had a list of teams, prices even wages but what happened? He signed a 5 year contract and now seems he will be with Man U for many a season more.

Davies, I don’t think its reasonable to compare Enrique and Barton. Enrique apparently wants out. Joey wants a longer contract and is willing to take a reduced wage to get it but the club aren’t offering.

Have to laugh at Liverpool headline “AC Milan interested in Liverpool target”.
    I hope Braga stuff ’em.

I have had a very interesting chat tonight with a former Employee of Nufc, who still has very good contacts within the club!!!
    Very interesting indeed!
To cut it brief ( this is 100% genuine btw) jb, Enrique, gutty, collo…. Have all stated to the club they are not prepared to sign a new contract as they do not feel the powers that be have the right intentions for Nufc!
The whole squad have been toll they all have a price……and the club is now a selling club! Seems fat cash is only interested in the academy, and how much money he can make from bringing through the kids, basically paying nothing an selling at 100 +% profit! Senior players have voices their concern at this an have been told if they don’t like it they will be sold! 30 m from Carroll sale split is 33% to club run, 33% to academy, 33% to team!! Rest have to be freebies!! And any sales will go to service debt, to mr m Ashley!

    This is not bullshit guys!

    @ 37 BEN ARFA:

I never get the ignorance of fans like you. why should he show loyalty to Newcastle? he’s not a geordie? He only works for Newcastle- his employer. Is it not normal for people to want to move on to a better company and chase a better career if the offer comes around?

He owes Newcastle nothing as he’s played well for us and earnt his wage. And if we can get good money for him its because of his hard work while at Newcastle.

Would you rather a lazy loyal player whose a flop, that no on else will take- thas the usual arrangement at Newcsatle and the reason most of our players in recent years have stayed so long. Wake up to reality.

Enrique is leaving us (a mid table side at best atm) to join a world class side like AC Milan to play with some of the best players in the world and probably earn 3 times as much. Anyone with any sense would take that move. Show me a man who wouldn’t take that move and ill show you a liar
