Newcastle After Netherlands Whiz Kid

The Newcastle scouts are out in force this weekend as they take in the Internationals, and check on some of Newcastle potential targets in the summer.

Georginio Wijnaldum – 20 year old Feyenoord winger/play-maker

And news today that Newcastle are taking a look at Feyenoord’s Georginio Wijnaldum.

The 20 year-old Netherlands U21 International can play on the right wing or as an attacking midfielder, and he is already highly regarded in the Netherlands.

Wijnaldum was born and raised in Rotterdam in South Holland, but moved to Amsterdam when he was just 6 years old, and joined the Feyenoord club back in 2007.

He has already played 123 times for the Dutch club with 19 goals and has played for all the Dutch Youth sides, including once at U21 level.

In April of 2007, Wijnaldum made his debut for Feyenoord in their Eredivisie home game against FC Groningen,  at the young age of 16 and 148 days, and became the youngest player ever to play in the Feyenoord first team.

Interesting enough, he was also chosen as Feyenoord’s man of the match in that game.

As you would expect, some big clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Milan and Liverpool (plus Newcastle) are keeping an eye on the 20-year-old,  but news today that Newcastle scouts have watched this player several times already, and may try to get the lad in the summer,

He would be one for the future, but the 5’8″ youngster is already an impressive play-maker for Feyenoord, and also has some terrific speed.

Georginio Wijnaldum looks like the type of young player Newcatsle should be signing in the summer, and it’s clear the Newcastle scouts are looking at lots of good players at the moment.

That’s in preparation for what could be a huge summer transfer season for the Magpies.

Mirror says we are after AZ striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, 11 goals in 25 apps and only young. Sounds pretty good. Looks like our scouts are hammering the dutch league

This guy is brilliant easily as quick as walcott. Not one for the future he`d walk straight into our starting eleven now. He would be our perfect winger i`d prefer him too Gervinho anyday he`s that good and I love Gervinho lol

that makes about 26 we are looking at this month alone, which is more than the squad we can register! but no doubt we will get 2-3 of them which will be great – and the papers can crow “we were right aren’t we good” – but I bet we also sign also 2-3 jems that no one has mentioned (or even heared of) – still the papers have to fill their columns with something when there’s no match to report, and at least its fun and better than doom & gloom!

    bring on wolves! 2-0 HWTL

This lad would get into the starting line-up never mind being a squad player, the only thing is we’ll have to drop Barton or sell him as once Benny comes back he will replace Jonas and then if Gervinho signs we’ll have to play him as a right forward.

Brilliant if we could get him and Gervinho. Exciting, technically sound athletes, something we’re desperately missing. I’m beginning to get excited about the summer!!

    How’s this for a team:
    Harper
    Simpson STaylor Colo Whittaker
Georgino Barton / Nolan Tiote HBA
    Best and new signing
Surely it’s about having a squad to enable rotation having cover for injures etc

This is another kid that looks the gravy looks like he has got everything you would want in a winger, there must be other clubs looking at the lad, again he looks top drawer, rumours or not am looking forward to this summers transfer window and staying positive.
