We Want Fans To Go Home With Smiles On Their Faces

The last two home games have produced a single point, and the last time Newcastle won at home was way back on January 5th when we literally hammered West Ham 5-0.

Alan Pardew – will try to put smiles on fans’ faces today

Since that win, Newcastle have won just one game of their last 10, and that was when Newcastle hammered Birmingham 2-0 away.

In that game in early January against the Hammers, Leon Best introduced himself to the Newcastle fans with a terrific hat-trick, but unfortunately Leon has had trouble with his ankle over the last couple of weeks, and is due to see a specialist this coming Monday.

Alan Pardew has even said Leon may be out for the season, but we have to hope that’s not the case, as Leon could still get a lot more goals this season for the team.

It would also be a welcome change if Newcastle can corral their poor defending of late, and get a clean sheet today, and then Newcastle would only need to score a single goal to wrap up what would be a precious 3 points for Newcastle.

Alan Pardew had this to say to Newcastle fans today:

“We want our fans to go home with smiles on their faces and we have not done that enough this year. Our position in the league will be determined by how strong we are at home for the rest of the season.”

“The league is so tight this season because the standard is so much higher.”  “The top teams are maybe not as powerful as they were and other teams winning below them has caused this incredible congestion.”

“Ultimately, the three teams that go down will be the three that deserve it and we do not want to be one of them. There are 12 teams involved – and we are one of them.”

“Wolves’ enthusiasm cannot be allowed to be greater than ours.” “We have to be really strong and make sure we compete with Wolves as they have competed in every game. So have we, for the most part.”

“Our stats suggest, in almost every game since I’ve been here, we have outworked the opposition. That will be hard against Wolves, but it is what we will be trying to do.”

“I would probably have taken 36 points with eight games left when I came here and yet we find ourselves in a situation where there is so much emphasis on this game.”

“It is magnified by the fact we have not played for a fortnight and our last game was a big disappointment. With Villa away and then Man United at home next, that is why the fans realize what an important game this is.”

Newcastle’s two losses have been amplified, because the side has played just two league games in the last 5 weeks or so, and we lost those two, but the season ends 7 weeks come Sunday and Newcastle will play their last 8 league games in that period.

We are hoping Newcastle can quickly collect a couple of wins so we can relax, knowing Newcastle are safe this season in the Premier League, and fans can then look forward to a busy and hopefully successful transfer window this summer.

3 points today would help big time with that goal, and will certainly send Newcatsle fans home this afternoon, smiling from ear to ear.

Howay The Lads!!.

Wrong Pardew its close because of the new squad system, but we will be ok if we win today, our season hangs on this game, 2 seasons ago I felt that it was down to the stoke game this time its this one, win today and we will survive, loose or draw and it will be high blood pressure for the rest of the season

I would go home with a smile on my face if pardew resigned and we got a proper manager.
    Better still a takeover

Daily I grow more and more contemptuous of the evil triumvirate of Ashley. Llambias and Pardew.

Loved that west ham game, it gave us a full of confidence Leon Best.

I expect as similar showing from the lads today. In a ideal world Ranger to get a hatrick, learn respect and get a understanding of time keeping.

But I will be happy with a 1-0 win, shola scoring off his backside from a shanked barton shot.

    HWTL!
