Exciting Times Could Lie Ahead For Newcastle Fans

It seems that Newcastle’s young left-back really enjoyed his first Premier League start for the Newcastle club on Saturday.

Shane Ferguson – another excellent display on Saturday

Shane Ferguson only lasted 52 minutes against Wolves, and we have to hope his calf injury is not too bad, but we’d also expect the rested Jose Enrique to be finally fit again for the tough game at Aston Villa next Saturday.

Alan Pardew seemed to be simply delighted with the 19 year-old’s performance  after the game, and said he thought Shane was “brilliant in everything he did”, as the Irishman gave another excellent display, following his Man of the Match display two weeks ago at Stoke City.

Shane was himself delighted with the game,  and of course the great result as he said this today:

“It was a brilliant result, and to get my first Premier League start was an extra bonus,”

“I thought before the match, they’d probably target me because of my size, but I thought I handled it all right, and Jonas Gutierrez and Fabricio Coloccini helped me as well.”

“All the lads were so happy. It was just a great atmosphere. There was no one who slacked, and everyone carried each other through. It was a great experience.”

“They came into the game in good form, and we knew they would come out of the blocks fast.” “We handled it really well, and it was a brilliant result in the end.”

Newcastle fans knew all about Shane Ferguson, from his excellent displays in the Carling Cup earlier this season.

And we understand the lad’s been just as impressive in training, so it’s hardly a surprise that he has now done so well since being given his chance.

And maybe some of the other top Newcastle youngsters should be given a run-out before the end of the season, once the side is safe of course.

Shane talked about his own rapid rise to mini-stardom over the last few weeks:

“It’s happened so fast. I’m so thankful for it, as well. I’m thankful to the manager for giving me a chance to show him what I can do.”

“There are no better fans than Newcastle fans, I’ll tell you that now. They’re really nice people too, and they were brilliant. They got behind the lads, and helped us.”

“It’s looking good at the minute,” “We just have to keep our heads, and hopefully keep pushing on now until the end of the season.”

Alan Pardew asked for the support of the Newcastle fans for the critical match on Saturday – and he got the response he asked for from almost 50,000 who were in attendance,  and once again the Newcastle faithful roared their team on.

It’s true there is still some unhappiness with fans surrounding owner Mike Ashley, but there also seem to be some very definite signs that Newcastle are becoming financially strong, and the Newcastle club is now on their way back.

Newcastle could also have a much better side next season, with some good buys made this summer, with some of the Andy Carroll windfall,  it certainly promises to be an exciting time for Newcastle fans, that’s for sure.

But when you also have youngsters like Shane Ferguson, Nile Ranger and James Tavernier, who was also on the bench on Saturday after returning from his loan at Gateshead, and that’s to name just three of  our promising young players at the club, then things at Newcastle are starting to look bright again.

Howay The Lads!!

What do you all thik about this team for Sunday, taking injuries into consideration. If Enique, Ireland and Best are fit, remove Ferguson, Guthrie and Ranger.

    ————————Harper————————-

    Simo———-Willo————Saylor———Fergie

    ————————–Colo————————–

    —–Guthrie———–Barton———–Jonas——-

    ————-Ameobi————Ranger—————

    1. 4-4-2 With Colo covering the back 4 in a Tiote-esque way but getting forward to support Barton when possible. Colo is so comfortable on the ball, he has done this before for his previous club.

    2. Ranger has to score eventualy?

Mo – why move Guthrie out wide where he is less effective? That’s Barton’s spot for me. Apart from that aye,,, maybe Saylor in midfield covering instead of taking Colo our best centre-halve out of position.

Best n’ shola could have the goals and movement in them to rip a new one in the sloppy villa defense.

Toon Andy: Good point with Fergie mate, would be happy to see Jonas play on the Right were I think he is better suited, letting Fergie play on the left.

Boater: I agree if Tiote was playing mate. but I think Bartie would stiffen up the Centre of midfield and push out Right on occasion pall

Shane Ferguson..More a left winger than a left back ?

Shane has great skills, watched him bring a ball down in a tight situation edge of the box ..Wolves were mesmerised admiring his skill ! they all just stood there watching !…He reminds me of a really young Tony Green ..So He’s got More to show us and he will.

Likethe idea of colo playing in tiotes role. David luiz from chelsea gets allot of press coverage for his ball skills, and collo is a very similar player on the ball. If all are fit then a midfield three (right to left) of jonas-barton-fergie sounds good.

if je leaves get baines hopefully dan gos can talk him into coming here class player and ferguson left mid we have a great team and its only going to get better remember we have a payment due for the position we finish in plus the payment for this season for staying up thats the (pp) that was set in place. ive heard its 30M but it was 3 years its set for so i guess its only 15 then another 15 next season because we got 30m or so for being promoted from the championship so at that 15m on top of the 35m off carroll plus money we get off tv rights and if we do get lucky this year and manage a European place then we will get extra money for that plus each game we play in plus tv of that too so its looking very good for us. and if they dont use that 15m for transfer they will use it to get rid off that 17.1 m debt we have so its all good.

Barton is genuinely the only one of our players who’ve been linked away that we NEED.

We’re going to get back to the top guys, and we’re going to do it how it should be done, spending only what we earn and using our youngsters. We’ve got one of the best academies in the country, and it’s only getting better.

Fat Cashley’s tight wallet and lack of footballing sense is going to see us get back into Europe spending a fraction of what Spurs, City and Liverpool do.

It’s far more rewarding to see players who desperately want to impress for the club. Just look at the hype we’ve built around Ferguson, and he’s barely played a game.

He’s going to be brilliant. Reminds me of Duff in his early days, a burst of speed and mazy dribbling, can go past people with ease. Seems to be switched on too.

Anybody who says “he needs to put on some weight” are babbling bobbings. He’s agile, elusive, not all players need to be brutes.

You may be bigger, but catch him if you can! 🙂

Online Guy – you mention Tony Green.
What an incredible player he was! I wonder how much he’d cost on the open market now if he was in his early twenties and in his prime?
Could you imagine him and Pedro playing together in another era?
If Ferguson is only half as good as Tony we’ll still have a belter on our hands.

Keep in mind that the lad is still learning. Nolan, with the cost of a 2 game suspension, pulled his stones out of the fire. Colo, Jonas and even Lovenkrnds were back there adding extra protection. Nice to see that sense of everyone pulling together, following the good strategy of AP .

And the strategy really paid off as Wolves overloaded on Ferguson leaving Joey Barton to work his magic nearly unimpeded over on the wide open right side. He made them pay dearly for that.

This is the article translated… Might aswell still be in French Tbh!!…

Six months and a day after the aggression of Jong, Hatem Well Arfa is return. The French, victim of a double breaks tibia péroné, nevertheless little should be used of here the end of the season. Hatem Well Arfa is return. Almost six months to the day after his double breaks tibia péroné of the left leg, the player of Newcastle will resume Monday the way of training. Rock Hamon, the surgeon orthopedist questioned on Football365 to the day following the engraves injury of the player, had seen just: “The initial consolidation should take three to four months. Next, it there put back it in physical condition. Therefore that appears logical behind to add one to two months.” Victim of an attempt of Nigel of Jong, the environment of Dutch land of Manchester City, the French had left the lawn of Holy james Park under respiratory assistance and on stretcher the Saturday October 3 last one. Monday April 4 next one, it will resume the training with the group of Alan Pardew.

The end of a long ordeal for the offensive environment of Newcastle, cut in his momentum after the good beginnings with the Magpies. After several weeks in Tunisia (his country of origin) to recharge in family, Well Arfa started his re-education to Clairefontaine in last November. Former boarder of the INF, it had taken advantage of a gathering of the Blue ones to greet Laurent White and the players of the team of France. Advised by the doctor Eric Rolland, the doctor of the PSG, Well Arfa multiplied the round-trip tickets in the Yvelines. Where it finally equally finished his re-education. “Here, I benefit from installations of quality and of a competent medical staff, it recognized in last January. With a program of six hours a day, I quickly saw the first results. That helps when one feels that one progresses.”

To the era, HBA dreamed again of a return in February. Finally, this is two months later than one rediscovers the big unfortunate one beginning of season of First League. A week after taking part in some exercises with ball alongside young of the INF, Well Arfa nevertheless resuming in softness. His trainer, Alan Pardew, does not want to take any risk. The former player of Charlton has the intention to recover the lost time and counts a lot on his better technician for the next season. It should therefore use it only here parcimonieusement the end of the championship. It murmurs himself even that Well Arfa would renew with the competition only May 7 next one to residence against Birmingham. There will remain then two games to play. The season of the French is in any case finished since this aggression of Jong. And Monday, it is especially the preparation of the next one that will start the French. Ben Arfa said that De Jong apologised for the tackle soon after saying that he didn’t mean to injure arfa and he was sorry. HBA accepted but went on to say that the biggest problem was that FA didn’t punish the tackle after, and that players will continue to make tackles like that if they go unpunished, needs to be more protection on players.

Went on to talk about playing behind the striker, asked if he sees himself playing for France there and he said its a position that he really enjoys playing, allows him bit more creative freedom and would like to play for France there.

Said that the break from football has done him good mentally, spent time with family, friends, did a bit of travelling, happy within himself mentally but looking forward to getting back.

didnt say too much bout the town but bit at the start with fans interview etc. is worth a watch.

Excellent formation Geordie German but will Pardew be canny enough to come up with it? The 4-4-2 worked well against Wolves but Nolan will be a big miss. I like 2 big bodies up front away from home as you have it even though Peter scored. Aston Villa look very lacking in confidence recently. Could be another 3 away points. Howay the lads!!
