Newcastle Said To Be Interested In Victor Moses Again

When Victor Moses became available 15 months ago, Newcastle manager at the time, Chris Hughton, wanted the player at Newcastle, but the Magpies were surprisingly beaten out by Wigan.

Victor Moses – Newcastle interested?

Although the fee was not disclosed, it was thought to be around £2.5M paid to his former club Crystal Palace.

Since signing for Wigan, Moses has played 32 times with 3 goals, but if Wigan Athletic are relegated this season, it’s likely they will need to unload the 20 year-old who has played once for the England U21 side.

The People has reported that Newcastle may again be interested in bringing Moses to Newcastle, and presumably the player would jump at the chance to join Newcastle.

Newcastle’s home gates of 50,000 are a lot more than the 16,000 attendance that Wigan usually gets for their Premier League home games.

The new news is that Alan Pardew  really rates the player, and if that’s  true, we wouldn’t be surprised if Newcastle went after Moses in the summer, and would probably have to pay a little more than the £2.5M Wigan paid for Victor 15 months ago.

Moses has played 30 games for various England Youth teams, from U16 through U21 level with 11 goals, and has a total of 101 first class club games with a total of 14 goals.

But only last month he decided to switch his International allegiance to Nigeria, the country of his birth.

Moses was born in December, 1990 in Kaduna, and he happens to be just 2 days younger than Nigerian-born Kazenga LuaLau, who is already at Newcastle.

Moses is ineligible to play for Nigeria until his application to switch nationality is approved by FIFA, and that application is currently being processed, and he is now expected to represent Nigeria in the game at Ethiopia in June.

Victor, who stands 5’9″ tall, played 69 times for Crystal Palace with 5 goals, and is a very skillful player, who can play in a number of  different positions, but usually plays out on the left wing.

We have to think he would be a good buy for Newcastle, as he still has a lot of room for improvement, but is already more than a decent player.

Wow this could be a real summer target, low price, high potential, (am guessing) low wages and young……ticks all the boxes. Would be a good player to get in

I’m only wondering where would he play,,we’re risking Ferguson’s progress if we sign him.I’d rather stick with Shane cos he is star in the making.

From what I hear and see. NUFC should only buy England or experienced with English football defenders, and get the strikers/midfielders offshore.

BTW. saw WR interviewed after his brace vs. Shef Untd. When asked about his role getting NUFC up last year, you could see he wanted nothing t o do with the question, or his future in the EPL.

PS BTW, saw some of Liverpool-WBA. Kenny D has Carroll hanging out at the far corner of the 18 yard box on corner kicks. Is that poor management of talent, or is Carroll still too crocked to mix inside as the ball comes in?

Didn’t think we needed Moses last year & don’t think we need him now. There’s better players at the club already.

Yes Yes Yes. This is EXACTLY the kind of player we want. Agile, mobile, technical, fluid, versatile. A real SBR kind of player.

Has he had his Nigerian debut yet?? I would give him a free pass on his Wigan 18m months, such is their flimsy state of organisation and team performances this season.

He would flourish in this newcastle side. Stick one up Ireland – send him back and give Moses his squad number next season.

Burtoon I would agree Rodallega could be brilliant for us but I’d also want more than just him coming in for attacking options. Would also quite like Doyle from wolves if they go down and another striker on top of them.

    Angryman we agree haha 🙂

all of you thinking shearer and bellamy dont get on are dillusional. I am friends with an ex player who was at the club when they were both there and he told me that they get on well and still talk. apparently they had the best crack in the changing rooms by taking the mickey out of each other. it was the press who made you think that. souness was the reason bellamy left and shearer was the reason souness got the sack.

on topic, this lad is still young, is quick, has lots of potential and could learn so much off the likes of HBA and Barton. Would be a good purchase in my opinion for depth in the squad and for youngsters with potential

Both good players in a poor team where midfield supply are at its lowest

Well if he doesnt have the ability to play for Wigan? fat chance he will come here to be a starter, a good backup player but not someone who is really going to take the wingers spot we need someone like El Erabi or Gervinho etc.

BTW on Winger it looks like Piotr Trochowski is joining Sevilla on Bosman, means they MAY be selling a winger either Capel/Jesus Nevas/Perotti (who we have been linked with)

Seems perfectly sensible! Bring in a crap striker who didn’t want to come to us last year but now seeing as he has done absolutely nowt for Wigan feels he deserves a chance at a genuine Premiership club.

Haha, what a load of rubbish, you’d think it was Sunday again! I’d give Whelan 5p and a bottle of Tizer for him and that’s being generous.

Also if we are “Raiding” relegated teams which is a good thing we should also look at Pablo Piatti at Almeria they are bottom of La Liga, watched them lose 3-1 yesterday with Pablo scoring the only goal for his side, Top quality player who can be a winger or striker.

Marco Parolo of Cesena (has played so well this season he got a Itallian callup)

Barreto (This season hasnt done much but he is a quality player nonetheless at Bari)

Erik Huseklepp (New signing for Bari but as he really hasnt settled may get him on the cheap)

Chu-Young Park (10 goals for a team in relegation zone, and is a talented young striker)

Lukman Haruna (Strong young midfielder a good backup player)

Serge Aurier/Raphaël Varane (2 extremely talented defenders at Lens who are 2nd Bottom)

Maya Yoshida (At VVV has been MOtM most weeks for them a talented young defender)

Marco Reus (At a team bound to go down and a incredibly talented winger)

    Deniz Naki

And the whole Wolfsburg team if they go down has TONES of quality.

For all those who think Moses is the business.
I got news for you, he aint and never will be.
Cant get a game at Wigan, other than as a sub. and looks pants when he does come on.
Has three goals this season, that what you want from a striker, hell! Best got three in one game!
And yes I would have Bellamy for a season ahead of this guy .
Now Rodellega is a different story, good player as are his team mates Mc Carthy & N`Zogbia, in which case thats where we should be looking.
There and possibly Doyle and his ex- team mate Long, thats if Wolves may make the drop.
See where Gorskino has been scouring the globe to come up with names apart from Huseklepp, most have never heard of and probably will never hear of again.
Point is the guys i have mentioned, are all proven players with experience in the EPL and tick all of the clubs boxes in regard to buying policy.
Just add one player i would like to see and thats Kranjcar, who will be available, excellent player very versatile, but would`nt come cheap, but then quality never comes cheap.

2 things people seem to be forgetting about Victor Moses, firstly, he’s 20, so nearly every appearance for Wigan, and Palace, was from the bench for the last few minutes of the games. Yes he will have some starts, but not many, secondly, he’s a winger, not a striker, and the reason he doesn’t get a game at Wigan is because N’Zogbia keeps him out of the side. Victor Moses, has great potential, however, I really can’t say he will or will not realize it, however, if Wigan do offer him for bobbins, we would certainly have to have a look at him.

He has not lived up to the hype of last year (VM) when he was being touted as the net big thing – perhaps him signing for Wigan was a clue of his true ability. I would be absolutely indifferent if he signed. I think the majority of people on this article are thinking he is as good as they expect/want him to be; in reality he’s very average.

We would be very stupid to pass up a cheap and extremely talented buy. He is not best used as a striker. His best position is LW , now i know we have Shane F, and Hatem but we need back-up in a few departments. The better, younger, and more potential the back-up has will determine our squads capability in the next couple of seasons!

Rodellega, N’Zogbia, Mcarthy, Moses all good enough to get Wigan relegated.

I like Rodellega purely for the fact that he idolized Tino and is a big admirer of NUFC (we need people who WANT to play for the shirt) but I’d rather have Mcarthy or Moses.

Actually McCarthy and N`Zogbia are the best of the four, but do we really need more midfielders ?
Would be satisfied if we got Kranjcar for around five million, if we sell Raylor, Guthrie and Lovenkrands, would possibly finance a good part of the fee and get rid of some deadwood.
That would leave us with, Kranjcar, Ireland, Ben Arfa, Joey, Nolan, Tiote, Gosling,Ferguson and Jonas, pretty good looking set of midfielders.
A group that many can play dual roles, inside , winger, behind the striker, etc. with Duckling subbing for Tiote.
With that settled we need at least four defenders, one CB a replacement for Enrique plus backups for Simpson and the new LB.
That leaves a top striker and were done, competing for a European spot next season and expecting to win against all comers.
Easy when you know how !

Give the bloke one chance to join this club.

If he (or his agent) chooses to move to Wigan instead then let him rot in the Championship.

This club does not work well with players who only come here because their options are limited or they’ve changed their minds.

IMO F@@k off Moses there are so many other players better suited to this club.
