Once Newcastle Safe – Transfer Market Moves Will Start

Alan Pardew has said today, that although Newcastle are 7 points above the drop zone with omly 7 games to play, the club is still not safe from possible relegation.

Alan Pardew – when we’re safe we’ll move in the transfer market

And almost anything seems possible this season in the Premier League, and there will be some unexpected twists and turns at the bottom of the table, before the season comes to an end on Sunday,  May 22nd.

But Newcastle won a massive game against Wolves, and one thing in the club’s favor is the positive goal difference, which is always worth an extra point in a close finish, but the side cannot relax, and must play all out in every remaining game, if only to push as far up the table as possible.

If Newcastle can finish high up in the PL, it will only help with the summer transfer market,  to attract good players to the club.

Alan Pardew is a pragmatic man, and he had this to day today about relegation:

“We are not safe yet, and we have to make sure the players realize it.” “The result last weekend was a big step towards safety and we can breathe a little easier, but we are not there yet.”

“We have that carrot at the weekend, and if we win at Villa we will probably be there.” “It is another massive game because of that.”

“We made a big stride forward with the win over Wolves – now we have to finish the job. Once we have done that, things will start to move in the transfer market.“

That’s an interesting bit on the transfer market, and presumably they can then solidify some deals that are in the offing, once Newcastle are sure of being in England’s top tier next season.

It seems that Newcastle may have already negotiated some deals, and two of them will probably be with free agents, and those deals could already be done and dusted.

The rules in England are that free agent deals cannot be announced before the end of the season we believe, so if some deals are already completed, then Newcastle could make those announcements at the end of May, and that would be a good way to start off this summer transfer window.

The news yesterday was that Kevin Nolan is very close to a new bumper deal at the club, and Joey Barton has said if Kevin signs on – he will do the same thing.

Some good positive momentum may be building at Newcastle, but first things first, and the lads have to put in another good and solid performance at Villa Park on Sunday.

Comments welcome.

Its all lies man, we’re obviously not going to spend a penny in the summer.

Nolan, Barton, Enrique….In fact to cut this short, every single member of the first team squad, reserves, youths and ball boys will be off in the summer as MA can’t be arsed to pay their wages.

New signings in the summer all coming from the Sunderland Womens team, their ambition is to win the prem next season.

ST James park will also undergo new development. Well, I say development, they’re actually going to knock it down and replace it with a massive Sports Direct Vending machine.

Yep, thought I’d get the doom and gloom in early because we all know this thread will be full of it within 10mins anyway.

Sounds like Pardew is reacting to Joeys comments about transfers in the summer. What I mean by that is Pardew is making it clear that the league isn’t over yet and like Ed says the higher up the league we finish the more likely it is that we can attract talent.
Some of the players we are linked with each day are laughable but never the leass I’m alot more happy reading speculation of players coming in ( however unlikely most of them are ) as opposed to potential departures of our best players.
Bring on the summer most excited about to toon as I have been in YEARS. HWTL

haha fair play Stuart, get it in first. i for one can not wait for the summer transfers to start, hopefully we can find some real gems!

jarra, maybe I am naive to be excited though I also echo your thoughts- this summer could just be Fat Ash’s chance to start to put things right. The 10 year season ticket freeze was a step in the right direction now lets build on that Mike and prove your in it for the long haul!

The sooner we can get to 42 points, sign Kev and Joey up the better… It would be a statement of intent and perhaps persuade Jose to sign up for longer… Who knows but all I can say is I am excited!

If its at all possible like Roshan I’d keep Enrique, hes one of our best players, certainly one of our most creative.

To be honest I think we should be keeping Enrique and bringing Taiwo in if possible. We’ve had no real cover for Enrique for years. I know Fergusons coming through but I reckon hes a LW.

The thing about Enrique is he is clearly still improving, this being his best season yet by some margin. The idea is to sell your players at their peak so you get maximum reward while they get steadily worse. Ask Taggart.

The very last thing a Geordie should do is trusting fat Mike.
