BBC Interview – Alan Pardew Uses Injuries As Excuse

Alan Pardew has blamed the injuries for handing Aston Villa only their second win in 8 games, but the Newcastle team by their display didn’t deserve to take anything out of the game.

Here’s the interview and in truth we did have 9 players out through suspension and injury, and the bench showed just how stretched the Newcastle club are at the moment.

If his selection wasn’t good enough, you’d think the subs would step up to the mark – he didn’t.

I always try and look on the bright side but Barton’s comments going without punishment is a sure fire way to give him the ego and the right to talk all he likes – regardless of how damaging it might be.

Colo deserves the armband, not Barton.

    Pardew is an idiot!

Who was in charge during the transfer window?

Routledge would have come in handy today.
Not to mention a decent centre forward.

The club is being so badly run.

    Pardew’s excuses are pathetic.

Routledge is a championship player, FACT! And Pardrew has every right to blame it on the injuries! Take Bent, Agbonlahor, Young and Downing out of there team and play our full team, it would be a completely different game!!

Player ratings from the match today. some very interesting stats about the game as well.

We were poor today no doubt and we NEED to invest heavily in the summer if we are going to get anywhere in the league.

what a bunch of pansies whining as usual.

one game where barton and simpson dint perform and already the boo boys are at it again.

If we performed week in week out, we would be a top 4 team. Lets face it and move on for the next game .

Sorry but the owners and Pardew are reaping what they sewed in the january transfer window. Nothing to do with Carroll either. Routledge may not be up to the task (even though he played well when we beat villa 6-0) but you don’t let him, Xisco or any players leave an already thin squad unless you have replacements.

They’re not whining pansies , they’re people who pay good money to watch a load of s….e and they’re entitled to their opinions.

If you are not the least bit discerning and happy to put up with watching that c..p under a c..p manager, then keep it to yourself.

Really ? strange because last week some of them were all ecstatic about beating wolves 4-1.

We were piss poor today and we lost, that does not make Barton or simpson a poor player for the entire season.

I paid £41 quid to see that utter shit today, its a disgrace. Get rid of f*** Ranger, hes had his chance now, go to a lower club and prove your worth.

I am really pissed off about all this, I am sun burnt to hell and I wanted 3 points, we could of had them as well, they didnt playing great Villa, if we had a bit of what we had at Wolves then we could of won 2-1. Fact is we didn’t and they players need to look at the fans and pull a result out next game.

    WOULD EVERYONE PLEASE CALM DOWN?????

We had NINE players out. Nolan, Tiote, Ameobi and Best to name a few… some of our key players over the past few months. With them in the team, we’d have walked this game.

Quit being b!tches and just support the lads. You lot are absolutely unbelievable sometimes. Nee wonder players can’t be @rsed with staying.

We had no good strikers today. Hopefully those who slag Ameobi off will see that, NO, Ranger isn’t ready (nor good enough). And that, YES, Ameobi does bring something else to this team.

Forget about contracts, chairman and your pathetic Footy Manager “must-have” players. Concentrate on the next 6 games and get behind OUR team.

Shocked how much stick Routledge gets. He’s one of the best players in the championship yet everyone seems to think the gap between the championship and the premiership is massive. In reality it isn’t that big. The gulf between the top 6/7 teams in the premiership and the rest is the talking point. Routledge would have done a lot more today than most of the players that did play for us.

Really makes my blood boil how most people are so quick to want to offload a player who tried and in my opinion is better than half the shower of sh1te we still entertain such as smith and perch. Kuqi as entertaining as he is, is he really what we want at the toon? A desperate attempt to fill a gap. Can we not get rid of players such as xisco/perch/smith and raylor before we actually get rid of better players such as routledge

    Supperevil,

These are very well remunerated people earning absolute fortunes and apparently we have the best midfielder in England, lol !!!!!

In any walk of life like bankers etc on that sort of money, delivering such a woeful performance deserves criticism.

They get our support during the match, but if they don’t deliver, we’ve got every right to show our disatisfaction.

Yes they won for the first time in 10 games last week and were rightly praised. Today they were awful and are rightly being slated.

with the players that were out i was hoping for a draw against a villa side who had their starting team. i agree with those above that Barton shouldn’t have been captain, and although im a fan of his, i would’ve given the armband to colo or harper after those comments he made midweek. once Tiote, Nolan and Ben Arfa are back i’ll be happy.

ALSO! Nile Ranger had no business starting today. he seems far too weak and easily knocked off the ball for the type of physical role we Pardew put him in. i’d have played Kuqi and brought on ranger on 70 min.

    Rotonda – wrong.

Absolutely rubbish comparing the two professions. The pressure is completely different. Also, with the bankers, you look at the bigger picture. They’re getting slated because of that. In fact, you do the same with footballers… and this season… we’re doing well, and if you think otherwise, then let’s just stop talking. It’d be like a child arguing with their parent. The child is always wrong.

We had Colo in center mid, Guthrie (who’s confidence is shot… hmmm… wonder why?) playing the main creative role, Barton putting himself in the firing line. That midfield were always going to have it tough. We were missing Nolan and Tiote, simple as.

Up front, we massively missed Ameobi and Best. They’ve both proven they can do a job. Ranger and Loven cannit. Where’s the slating of Ranger by the way? Why is he untouchable? He wasn’t even terrible today, he was anonymous.

Villa had NO injuries. Yet they scraped a win against a patched up team.

Rotonda – my last point – it’s our duty to support, not add to the pressure in the way some of us do.

@magpie6699 Ireland is fit now only in his loan contract he isnt aloud to play against villa, so i guess he will be in for nolan against man utd.

and we shud stop complaining about everything that went wrong today. We will survive the league this year and then we will wait till after the summer THEN we can complain or cheer.

Our only problem is how dependent we are on so few players normally : barton nolan enrique tiote. If one or 2 of these players are missing no one shows up. Seen so enrique is gone we need to invest in the summer so that we arent indepent.

Crippeld by injuries REALLY thin squad and yet still in the top 10 ( after the next 3 games probaly around 15th )

lets stop complaining and do what pardew says help steer the team forward by being 100% behind the team.

HWTL draw man utd Beat blackpool and beat the scum FUCK u carrol and kenny COME ON

spot on mate, with 9 1st team players off with injuries/bans etc. would’ve frozen even Barcelona. We had 4 of our best goal scorers out (Nolan, Carroll, Best and Strolla) No team could cope with that.

We still have 3 winnable games (Blackpool, Brummies and Baggies) and we stand in 39 points. Shit’s not that bad.

lads come off it we lost 1-0 to a poor villa side with a full strength team we would have come away with something. So really Pardew is right we had to many absent key players as i said b4 we have a 13 player team outside that are championship at best players so to have 5/6 key players out makes a weak and vunrable side we just gotta hang on till the end of the season and and come out flying nxt season with new quality players!!

I have just come home from the Game, and it was very poor. Colo didn’t have a clue in MD role, and Ranger can’t cope with constant long balls humped up to him. It was very poor performance and I really don’t think that giving Kuqi five mins is worthwhile, he was better in his cameo than Ranger.

Barton had a real shocker, really bad. He played terribly and pent most of his time whinging, though the referee was awful. All in all we had zero creativity, literally nothing, we missed nolan and were crying out for a ben arfa/ireland character.

It was poor lads, that’s my assessment. Villa were bad, but we were worse.

    Krul

it’s unbelievable what a win or a loss does to this blog. A win and the next game is a given and people start predicting 3/4-0’s a loss and it’s the opposite. Think we have to be realistic here, the starting 11 was the strongest we could put out and they couldn’t do the job. AP isn’t just going to throw other players into the game who are not up to it. I’d say there was only one player who is on a par with the first 11 on the bench and that was Ferguson. R.Taylor is pretty poor and Kuqi well the less said about him the better. Hoping for the Man U game next week to go into ET and pens with Man U getting beat leaving them tired and demoralised facing us. Looking forward to that one already, i love a game under the floodlights. Night games have a bit more of an atmosphere imo

Is it just me thinking this or any1 else… if Jose Enrique is for sure on his way to LiverPooP in the summer why are we wasting time with him and not developing Shane Ferguson? He will become a star for this club if given playing time. He has loads of confidence as a youngster and has an astonishing football IQ. Knows and reads the game perfectly. Is just 19 years old and on the verge of becoming a full international footballer. It is as if Jose Enrique is already gone based on his performance today as he did not care at all for us. Gave the ball away numerous times and didn’t create anything. He beat a defender or 2 easily but than gave the ball away just like that on purposely. We should give the kid Shane more chances. He is brilliant! As for the summer i’m looking at it as 50 million! I know we won’t get full 50 million maybe 40 million and rest put back in to the club for other stuff, but 30-40 million is a hell of a lot of money! With Graham Carr in place at Chief Scout anything is POSSIBLE!

I’m looking at it as like this….

    approximately 25-45 million….
Plus the money for players leaving (20 mili)

    10 million Gervinho
    10 million Sow
    12 million Ricky Van Wolswinkel
    8 million/p.ex Adel Taarabt
    6 million Torosidis
    5 million Samba
    Ireland 4 million
    3 million 2-3 Young Talents
    FREE Elmander
    FREE Larsson

    Gervinho in as right wing
Ricky Van Wolfswinkel and Sow main striker
Torosidis as RB, cover for RW, LW, LB
    Samba in to partner Coloccini
2-3 young talents for the future
    Elmander good striker for FREE
    Larsson good passer for FREE

Striking cover- Ranger. Airey . Elmander . Ameobi . Best . Xisco

Wing cover -Lua Lua . Larsson

Center Mid cover – Barton, Gosling, Richardson, Donaldson . Inman . Andy Mogwo

Attacking MID – Haris Vuckic as Ben Arfa #10 role backup . Ireland . Nolan push up . Samuel Adjei

    LB/RB – Shane Ferguson . Simpson . Perch . Dummet

CB cover – Kadar . Williamson . Henderson . Perch

    ……………………………………………………..

    OUT/COAHING ROLE

Jose Enrique Milan/ Liver 15 million
Lovenkrands to Danish side 2 million
    Campbell coaching role
    Smith Rangers 2 million
    Guthrie C’ship 4 million
    Routledge QPR 5 million

    ……………………Sow………..RVW………………….

    Jonas………………….Ben Arfa…………Gervinho

    ………………….Tiote………….Nolan……………….

    Ferguson………Colo…………Samba….Torosidis

Don’t care how much money we’re getting in the summer cause that aint gonna help us now. Yes we’ve had lots of injuries and suspensions, but we’ve got to play better. Massive win against Wolves but we’ve lost 3 out of 4 now. Manure next, hopefully a draw as Tiote will be back and Ameobi, victory would be fantastic though. Got to be careful against Blackpool, but they’re sinking fast, then ‘pool away and Birmingham at home. 2 wins and 2 draws might be optimistic, but I think we could do it.
