Newcastle Reserves will be playing their last Barclays Premier Reserve League fixture of the season on Monday night at Blackburn Rovers.
Newcastle Reserve team manager Peter Beardsley
James Perch is included in the squad, as is goalkeeper Tim Krul, but other than that, Peter Beardsley will be playing the youngsters, with James Tavernier, Shane Ferguson, Michael Richardson, Phil Airey and Ryan Donaldson all included in the squad.
Let’s hope James Perch doesn’t get sent of in this game, as he was in the the reserve fixture against Manchester United a couple of weeks ago.
And that’s why James was missing from the bench yesterday, although it was only a one game suspension, following a successful appeal made by Newcastle after the initial three match ban was given.
Defender Matty Grieve, who suffered a fractured cheekbone while on loan at Stockport in January, is also part of the squad, and Irishman Stevie Folan is back from his ankle injury.
Of the five teams in the Newcastle division of the Barclays Premier Reserve League, the Magpies have 27 points (from 18 games) with three other clubs, and are one point behind leaders Wigan Athletic.
The Reserves will play at the Leigh Sports Village with the following squad, and the game has a 7:00 pm kick-off time :
Tim Krul, James Perch, Dan Leadbitter, Patrick Nzuzi, Stevie Folan, Matty Grieve, James Tavernier, Jeff Henderson, Patrick McLaughlin, Michael Richardson, Brad Inman, Shane Ferguson, Joan Edmundsson, Sammy Ameobi, Phil Airey, Ryan Donaldson.
