Pardew – No Deal On Jose Enrique – Nothing’s Changed

We put an article out earlier today on Jose Enrique, and said the revelations from Phil Thompson had put both the Newcastle and Liverpool clubs in a difficult situation, and we thought there wasn’t much Newcastle could say about it, if it was true.

Alan Pardew – do deal with Liverpool – nothing’s changed

But on the other hand, if it wasn’t true then Alan Pardew should say so, and that’s exactly what he has told the Evening Chronicle today.

Liverpool legend Phil Thompson caused major controversy with his comments to Norwegian TV over the weekend,  claiming he had inside information that the deal for Enrique had been struck for a massive £15M.

We have doubts about whether the figure is that high for a player whose contract runs out in 15 months, but it would be a good deal for Newcastle if it’s true.

Pardew has flatly denied there is any deal in place with Liverpool for Jose,  as he said today:

“There’s definitely no deal between the clubs – 100%.” “He’s under contract here until next summer.”

“And we hope to open talks on a new deal as soon as possible.” “That’s where we are.”

“As far as anything being a done deal, that’s not true. We want Jose to stay.” “Nothing’s changed.”

It would be absolutely terrific if Jose decides to stay on at Newcastle, and of course if he does, he’ll be the darling of the Newcastle fans.

And it’s good that Alan Pardew has come out today and made that statement about Jose, and it could even be good news for the Newcastle fans this summer.

If Newcastle can start negotiations just as soon as possible that would also help, and maybe we can beat Manchester United next Tuesday night, which would make Newcastle safe.

But where is Phil Thompson getting his information from?

Stay on Tyneside Jose – please!

Comments welcome.

I’d sell him if we get offered £15mill, then try and sign Baines or Gibbs.

Where has this £15mil come from? Thompson didn’t say that. We’ve just chosen one of the numerous figures that have been made up and stuck with it.

No way will anyone pay that much for a left back with one year left on his contract, who’s had one good top flight season. We’ll be lucky to get 8 imo.

    And Ciaran, no he didn’t…

If Parwho had spent the window saying that Carroll WAS for sale, then what would we all be saying then? He simply can’t win with some of you guys.

Wot a brill idea Del Piero. Let’s sell all our best players to the highest bidder then immerse ourselves in mediocrity season after season after season. Being a feeder club to the so called bigger clubs will be a fun way to follow the Toon.

Heard it all before!! With Carroll!!

Total BS. Don’t buy it at all. As mentioned by some on the Chronicle site, the dippers made a fairly good fist of getting rid of their owners and are in a way better position now, money to spend and a good strikeforce. Can we not do the same?

off topic but read a few articles back that there was a take over rumour at the cost of 250 million and it was poo pooed because that would give ashley a loss however I would like to point out he would take the 35mill from Carroll with him when he left…his total come back would be 285 million

I also wouldnt be shocked if we were sold by summer. I said it when the financial report came out. We are currently a good club to invest in. We have a good basis for a starting 11 that could challenge for Europe, financially sound, still a big name in the footballing world, have a sound youth system, a large fan base (which packs out a large stadium), still a big draw to countries over europe and have a degree of stability

no one knows what happened with the Carroll deal. He just signed a new contract, liverpool sold their only real striker for £50m and probably thought sh1t ! Then they came to us with enough time to say how much for Carroll and as a joke we said ha ha £35m the most expensive english player. To which they replied okay and we were stuck !

Would still like to have Carroll but like people say done and dusted. Lets allow that mistake as long as we don’t balls up and sell Jose and Tiote.

We all know contracts just add a buy out clause for a certain amount. They mean nothing but extra cash these days.

Roll on summer, roll on targets, speculation, crazy links and most of all some signings that will make us think hmmm thats not a bad signing get in there

Let’s face it it’s all heresay at the minute. I hope Jose stays but at the end of the day if he wants to go, let him go and we’ll get as much as we can for him! No player is bigger than the club and we’ll always find someone else who does want to come and play for us!

I personally think he’ll go over the summer but I hope I’m wrong! Time to stop these stories now and wait for something to officially happen either way!

    Toon down south,

Afaraid Cieran is right, he went through the whole transfer window stating AC was NOT for sale, and I quote, under any circumstances!!

If Pardew had come out in the tranfer window and said AC is for sale at 30m + he would have gained alot of respect from the majority of fans!!

I am a Pardew fan, I think he is in a No win situation here, as would any Manager be with the fat Maggot incumbent in charge.

I honestly believe the fat scumbag told Pardew he would not have to sell Carroll and when he seen the pounds shillings and pence thought F11ck it. Im havin that!!!

So to an extent, Pardew is NOT to blame. He has merely been crapped on from a great height by the incompetent, yes Incompetent Prick that owns our football club.

AND I agree with Johnny Brookes, the FAT FEK is not to be trusted, he’ll sell his granny if he thought it would put money in his pocket……

Just to clear up the Andy Carroll thing –

Pardew said after the mackems game: “They [Spurs] can put together whatever they like. He is not for sale.
I am going to say it one last time, he is not for sale.”

Pardew has no say in whether players leave or not. It’s probably in his contract.

Carroll had signed a 5 year contract in the October and was obviously happy with it because he kept crowing about “loving the Toon”, “Home town club” etc, etc. The club rejected £20M, £30M and the first bid of 35M. When Carroll heard that he requested another contract just two months after signing! That’s when the club decided to accept the second 35M bid! So much for “home-town club” and loyalty! He’s just as greedy and two-faced as any mercenary footballer, he wouldn’t know loyalty or pride if it bit him on the arse!

Ciaran, I just pointed out that what you stated was false.

He doesn’t say here that Enrique will not be sold, he just says that a deal has not been completed. I doubt it has, it wouldn’t seem like Fat Ash to accept the first offer he gets – he didn’t with Carroll, rejected bids from Spurs then Cess Pool.

Don’t get me wrong, I hate the ownership and management situation as much as anyone. But Pardews in a tough position. If he advertises our players, we’ll hate him, but if he says they’re not for sale then FCB decides to cash in, we hate him for lying!

And to all the Chubby chasers out there, who undoubtedly will come back at me and say, ‘well it was coz carroll wanted to go’ I actually agree, maybe he did, maybe he did ask for 80K a week.

BUT remember this when sticking up for the FAT FEK LIAR….he signed Carroll on a five year contract…..he could have done a deal with Liverpool and still sold the lanky gypo at the end of the season, and he could have said to Carroll, I will make you stick to that contract you just penned, a legal document, unless you toe the Fekking line here until we decide when to sell you…..just like Fergie does with ALL his players that want away….and he’s just a Manager!!

Ronaldo….Rooney….van nistelrooy ….Beckham…etc etc etc. All made to stay until their season was over….and then sold on!! (Rooney aside of course)

Surely this would have sent a better message to the fans and the players at the club, that no one is bigger than NUFC and they WILL be expected to toe the line whilst employed by the club?

I certainly would have respected the fat get more!!!

i started the takeover rumour on the basis that £125m was recently deposited into the bank account of Newcastle united holding Ltd, marked as hotel development, although no application for planning has been made, a delegation from reliance recently visited the UK, so what’s left but a sale of the club, & whats to say the loans are to be paid at the same time as a sale, or the 30m. anil ambani & brother mukesh ambani are both football fans, the 2 children of anil ambani are football fans, I could go on about all the reasons I think the £125m is a deposit but its only my thought, but personally I am 100% sure once we are safe Ashley will be out. and most of all Ashley told a friend that if someone came along that was better suited to move the club forward he would go.

Pardew said AC was not for sale BEFORE £35mil was tabled. Given that this is more money than David bl00dy Villa – OF COURSE THEY TOOK IT.

Get over Carroll going, Pardew only said he wasn’t for sale because no one believed Liverpool would pull that amount of money out of the bag for Andy.

Honestly… can we give it a rest!?!?!?!?

Carroll may have been greedy, but Liverpool showed him that they really wanted him, and were willing to pay a ridiculous amount to get him there.

We just gave him 20k a week – at a time when we have about 6 players on over 50k – and told him to deal with it.

Jose deserves a pay rise, not a pay cut. Every footballers wages go up with each contract they sign, until they get old. But not here… We’re financially sound…. wonderful

How very true, but a football player is slightly different to your common employee…
You can actually tie a footbal player to a deal. legal bind him so to speak…..and if he doesnt like it, then tough shit!! Toe the line and we get rid of him when its pertinent for us to do so Im afraid.

They should have called his bluffg nd said Nope, your getting paid whatever your on, and will do until we say different, if Liverpool want you, they can have you when we say its suitable for us to sell you Rosie lee

If NUFC want to keep Jose, and otheres, they need to make quick signings of players with quality as soon as the window opens. However, AP has stated that the club will wait till the bitter end to bring in new faces. So, while I’d like to be optimistic about keeping the heart of the squad, I think they will be on the way to new shirts.

I was upbeat when we were told that 6+ would come in then this was whittled down by Pardew to a couple of signings & a couple of free agent, our squad has few goals in it so we needed the 6 +players If true what I believe big plans will follow a sale.

No ‘done deal’ but no denial of an offer and permission to speak to the player. Can’t be transferred niow anyway, so that is obvious. Ash and the Streaker have shoved Pardew out front to try and take the heat off again but he’s beginning to sound like Chemical Ali, still in denial as the tanks rumble past his window.

Well he would say that, wouldn’t he?, as Mandy Rice-Davies said.

    Its not that difficult.
They could try telling the truth for just novelty value. ie. ‘We’ve accepted a good offer of 15 milllion for Jose who wants Champions League football next season which we can’t offer him. He will continue to give his best in our remaining games and we hope you will continue to support him’.

Or sign Jose to an extended contract.

Instead, they shove Pardew out in the spotlight to use up further any credibility with the fans, media and the squad. Shouldn’t it be Llambias making the press statement after Pards was left looking like a fool following Carroll’s sale? Pity I didn’t witness the streaking incident just to check him for nuts.
