It Will Be Tough To Get Anything Out Of Red Devils Game

Alan Pardew will not have to motivate the Newcastle players much for the game next Tuesday against the might of  Manchester United.

Alan Pardew – no need to motivate players

They will be motivated enough, and given that, we also have to hope the lads can actually play well as a team and put in a good performance against the Red Devils, who haven’t been too good on the road in the League this season.

That’s one hope Newcastle fans can have, although they have looked in great form recentlyn and unfortunate a certain Wayne Rooney is back to somewhere near his best, which is not good news for Newcastle.

Alan Pardew talked about playing the great Manchester United:

“Playing Manchester United self-motivates you, so we don’t have to worry about that.” “Our tactical game-plan has to be right.”“They have lost less than a handful of games this year, so they are a very difficult nut to crack.” “With our crowd and the history of the fixture, it will be huge.”

“Sir Alex will be taking it very seriously and that will be reflected in his team-sheet.” “Typical of them, they hit January and pushed on. So we need to overcome a very confident Manchester United at the moment.”

It will be a tough game for Newcastle on Tuesday, and to be truthful it’s hard to think we can get anything from the game, so if get anything at all – it will be like a win.

How’s that for some reverse psychology, so I’m not too devastated if we lose on Tuesday night, unlike last Saturday!

It’s never been easy being a Newcastle United fan, as we all know. 😀

Well thats obvious, of course its going to be tough but it isnt impossible, coming back from 4-0 down against arsenal is tougher than this yet we done that so theres no reason why we cant get a draw if not all 3 points!

Man United are a different class compare to Arsenal,I couldn’t see us coming back from 4-nil down to Man united to draw anything if it happens.

2-1 to the Toon. Key will be closing down their wide men. Chieck drop a little deeper…just in front of Willo and Collo to eliminate Rooney who we all know comes back looking for the ball. Centre backs to hold the line against Berbatov or the little pea, who will play off their shoulders. Push simpson and enrique a little wider and have the Jonas and Joey track back to double team their wide men when they are on the flanks. We will win on the counter attack!!!

Just checked refworld, it’s not Phil Dowd, Howard Webb or Martin Atkinson, so we will get a fair game and probably a win too.

    @ Andy

Im not sure, he was given a 2 match ban and I’m pretty sure he has only served a 1 match ban so far. So yes I think he is banned from the game.

Worried about Mr Offside AKA Javier Hernandez, never seen this guy stay onside i bet we get a dubious goal against us!

This is a game you need someone getting a goal from nothing like Carroll, so maybe Shola upfront on his own with Collo playing DM with Tiote next to him in DM, and CB Staylor and Willo (although his lack of pace is worring against Rooney/Hernandez)

Hold out for a fustrating 0-0 will be the best we can hope for.

We should play a 4-5-1 formation. It is very important to pack the midfield where they are stronger.
Harper, Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson,Enrique. Tiote,Guthrie,Barton,Nolan,Gutierrez.Shola Ameobi.

Probably the worst decision ever taken by a football club owner.

Only problem with 4-5-1 is it is too negative. Maybe on the road, but at home we need some belief. 4-5-1 means Strolla on his own up front, and he will just be isolated and will get crowded out. At least Loven can inject a little movement to try and pick up some flicks. Otherwise, I just don’t see how we score. 4-4-2 is how I think we will line up.

Read somewhere that AP won’t start Ireland…anybody know what’s up? Thought he was healthy. Any other day might have him on the bench, but we need a little creative flair through the middle out there.

No AP said Ireland would start as substitute.
As well as an update on Shola being fit …

Pardew might as well e-mail Ferguson his game plan.

Just to be fair as far as the Steve Taylor critics are concerned he has had a lot of injuries over the last couple of seasons. Lets judge him when he is fit and has had a run of games. It probably won’t be until next season. I think he can be a good but not great centre back but that is all we have at the club, good but not great centre backs so why can’t he be one of them? Colo is good except he can be beaten in the air and can be bullied by big forwards like Elmander. Williamson is good in the air but slow on the turn. Campbell of course is finished and will leave in the summer unless he takes a coaching position with us. We could use another centre back to bring in some competition but I would definitely keep Taylor. All the best.

Still the most terrifying of fixtures. Even when we go ahead (solano’s wonder goal 1999) you know they’ll come back at you even stronger.

@gorskino – did Carroll really score goals out of nothing,, he got on the end of things mainly and led the line.. mebbes the liverpool goal aside.

Love everyones enthusiasm, the team should be sent out for a win or a draw at least, and the fans should be behind them and not complaining about how we are going to lose the game.

If Ireland is on the bench, then maybe we do have to switch Jonas to the right and put Fergie on the left. Bring Joey to the middle. When AP has messed with the formation too much (tactically naive) it has been disastrous. Look at Stoke (3 CBs) and Villa (Collo out of his element, no creativity from Guthrie) So stick with 4-4-2 and make sure Jonas and Fergie track back!! HWTL!

But if we don’t go out for a win then we’ll never get a win. If we expect to lose don’t worry about it at least we’d of given it a shot. C’mon lads!!

I think defensively we can keep it tight as long as we play the tried and tested willocini combo. Steven Taylor is an absolute Barry Bombscare, and I refuse to believe that any Prem teams want to sign him. So many times when he plays he makes mistakes. I still remember 2 of the man city goals were his fault, and if you watch the aston villa goal last week, look who’s standing behind the guy who heads the ball, and doesn’t jump for it? No prizes for guessing who.
Williamson is twice the defender taylor will ever be.

I agree that we should pack out the midfield, now that we have Raylor Tiote and ireland back, we could make a really strong midfield to support a striker upfront (Ameobi seems the best bet).
My team would look something like this:

    Harper
    Simpson—willo—–colo——enrique
    Raylor—–Barton——-Tiote——Jonas
    ! Ireland !
    V Shola V

If that isn’t working we can revert to a 4-4-2 and bring on Loverman, depending on form take ireland/raylor off and stick barton on AM/RM depending who we take. If Ameobi is having one of those days stick the Kuqimonster on to partner lovenkrands.

Just my two cents. (Bring ferguson on too if we go 1-0, 2-0 down, give guti a rest)

If we win I’ll be effin chuffed to bits and have wet me pants.

With a draw the same. But with dry pants.

But I think we’ll lose, but it’s how we lose that counts.

If we lose without a fight I’ll be desperately despondently depressingly disgusted.

If we lose and lose fighting, against Manure then I’ll be happy.
