We’ve looked through the record of players Newcastle are said to be interested in this summer, and we’ve come up with 4 players who would cost Newcastle around £30M in transfer fees, but they would improve the squad immensely.
Here they are with a short piece on each player.
GERVINHO
Age: 23
Position: Winger/Striker
Club: Lille
Price: £11M
At Lille at the moment, who are currently top of the French league, Gervinho is a fast goal-scoring winger would be ideal for Newcastle. The lad has 19 caps and 5 goals for the Ivory Coast and would be good company for Cheick Tiote, and he’s also an excellent player by the way.
KOLBEINN SIGTHORSSON
Age: 21
Position: Striker
Club: AZ Alkmaar
Price: £2M
Icelandic International
6’1″ striker has 5 caps and 3 goals so for Iceland, and has appeared 32 times with 14 goals for his Dutch club AZ Aklkmaar this season. An excellent up and coming striker will only get better on Tyneside.
ADEL TAARABT
Age: 21
Position: Attacking Midfielder
Club: QPR
Price: £11M
Moroccan International
The former Tottenham, player has been the star of the Championship this season for table-topping QPR, and will be much sought after in the summer by bigger clubs. It may be hard to get this lad to Tyneside, but at only 21 he’s already a very good creative midfielder, who would add much needed flair to the Newcastle side.
NIKO KRANJCAR
Age: 26
Position: Attacking Midfielder
Club: Tottenham
Price: £6M
The 63 times capped Croatian (15 goals) is getting sick of warming the bench at Spurs, and will leave in the summer, but as with Taarabt he will be in great demand by some big clubs. But this player just oozes class and is completely wasted at Spurs, where he hardly gets a game for the London side. Standing 6’1″ tall, this winger would be a terrific signing for Newcastle and would add flair, class and creativity to the Newcastle side.
Who do you think Newcastle could or should sign for around £30M – let us know.
Comments always very welcome.

Comment #1Any of these players would be great. I just wonder how many, if any, could we get. 2 out of the 4 would be a tremendous help, any more would be fantastic. With all this alleged money we’ll be getting over the summer we should be able to outbid a lot of clubs, right?

Comment #2i agree with all of the players ed mentioned will be good for NUFC except taarabat cause he remindes of Routledge he also plays like a great player in championship but in premier league he is just invisible in the pitch when we play him so instead of taarabat we should sign LARSON who can come for free and has good passing ability for a player who comes for nothing and has better premier league exp we should sign him

Comment #3Gervinho and Kranjcar will be great signings.
These are the players I hope our club will consider signing.
***Sakho, CB/LB, 21.
Has leadership qualities having captained France on every youth level. I have watched him play and he is very reliable. He can also play as an emergency leftback.
***Kjaer, CB, 22.
Young and reliable centreback. If you think Agger is good, Kjaer is definitely miles ahead. Though he will not come cheap. Then again, we cannot expect every quality signing to be as cheap as Tiote.
*Vanden Borre, Utility Defensive Player, 23.
Utility player that can play in many defensive positions. Has had PL experience with Portsmouth previously. Vanden Borre is almost like an all rounder. He is physical yet also has good passing ability. Reminds me alot of the Toure brothers.
***Gregory van der Wiel, RB 23.
Has the football world at his feet as I see him as having the potential to be one of the best rightbacks in the world. However, it is likely that top clubs like Real and Barce will go after him.
**Georginio Wijnaldum, Central Playmaker, 20.
Central Playmaker. We can do with a central play maker since Kevin Nolan is more of a goal poacher. I would LOVE to see this lad and Ben Arfa link up.
**Ismail Aissati, Attacking Midfielder, 22.
Holland under 21 youngster. Currently from Ajax and on loan to Vitesse. The player will bring much needed flair to our team.
Other players I would love us to sign include:
1.Ignacio Camacho.
2. Krancjar.
3. Gervinho.
4. Oba Martins. (Recall his first season with us until Owen came back from injury)
Some may think I am not being realistic, but we need to start signing some quality young players if we want to build a team for the future.

Comment #5i dont understand how people can say that we have any players for so much that we can buy. how does any1 know the value of a player especially if other clubs come in for them. plus other clubs know how much we have and could be getting its just rubbish.

Comment #6Hey, no Taarbat. 11mil? For this piece of money we could easily sign Adam Johanson. 2mil for KOLBEINN SIGTHORSSON is very very good price, must take him.

Comment #15i would build up backroom staff like world class ones that know how to bring young ones into the the footballing world have like a centre of excellence somewhere in europe and produce young players their even our young players. it will save money in the long term and produce hell of a lot more/quality players than we have recently even though a few are showing signs at the min. we need to produce cracking players to keep the money coming in cause no products from the academy no future investments in our players except from the ones that we dont want no more and we will hardly get nothing from them anyway.

Comment #16While Ireland showed glimpse of class while at Manchester City, lets remember it was quite a while ago. Since then, he has not played much football. In my opinion, Ireland is not the type of attacking midfielder we need to unlock defences. We need more attacking players like Kranjcar and HBA.

Comment #17I personally cant see ireland staying after the loan, he doesnt fit in with the type of player we’re after. my personal recomendations would be EDEN HAZARD – great name, great player. plenty of interest in this one from what i hear so may be difficult to sign, currently plays for lille but perhaps a double deal could be constructed for him and GERVINHO? second i agree with dyer8 for his leftback choice, it would be great seeing AANHOLT in a newcastle shirt again and is more the sort of player pardew is intrested in signing, 3m however? i think more like 7 as chelsea are fully aware of our situation n would play it against us. I would reccomend a striker in LUKAKU however i can see him being another lazy player (Martins and ameobi) but he does have what we are missing in a fast forward, we have been missing that for a while, although carrol had pace he wasnt fast.

Comment #21Dyer is on point with Caicedo, absolute beast.
How about bidding for Adam Johnson and Charlie Adam?
And City only want 16M for Adebayor…?
And who plays up top for Lille? He cant stop scoring and might be worth a punt.

I love the fact you are mentioning them because of football manager! Come on Borre was absolutely shit! Doesn’t matter what FM put his stats at he’s not a prem quality player!
We should sign larrson and elmander as proven prem players with experience and free that would take about 5 mill from budget do wages fees etc then we should go for gervinho with fees wages tame about 15 mill then Albin from Getafe he hadn’t had the best season this year but is quality Ive seen him play he’s quick strong and he’s on a free so would be about 3 mill then we have about 10-15 mill left for a def on a free from somewhere and an out an out striker as we will sell a couple of players. If we sold Enrique and got taiwo on free would be brilliant business would leave us in profit with about 7 mill and we have an international and champs league experience player can complain at that! Our team would end up

Comment #25Adam Johnson would be brilliant BUT he will be overpriced (english) and on huge wages (man city player) so won’t happen.
Taabart is lazy so no.
Other three yes and use the 11 mill saved on Taabart for Sow. Get the three frees from the previous article and buy Doyle or Rodellaga and buy a LB. That gives a very strong basis to grow from with back up.

Then we obv sell xisco Guthrie smith routledge loven perch release campbell and loan out ranger
Getting rid of xisco smith campbell loven rout releases 150k in wages a week sick thought! And we probs get about 7 mill for all them would. Be ar to get a good striker and a good utility defender and if out attack doesn’t look good and in depth then you know nothing about football as that is ad good as squad as any but top 4 and even better than Liverpool as I deem top 4 spurs city chelsea arsenal now! Anyway enough day dreaming as we won’t end up with any player there knowing my luck lol!

Comment #29Red mission bells…..I dont know whats with this Ricky van Wolfsfinkel guy cos he’s not that good,i watched him couple of times and especially the last game against Heerenveen where he missed 2 one on one opportunities.
I was very impressed with Bas Dost….typical Ibrahimovic in terms of height, ball control, vision, and not to mention his world class goal last Friday night against Utrecht.
Excellent player

Comment #30Who is Ricky van wolfsfinkel ?
And I am not pulling up names from Football Manager. I don’t even play the game.
I listed young players who genuinely look like good prospects based on what I’v seen and their profile. Bore is not as bad as what you think. Definitely better than our very own Alan Smith.

Comment #34Balazs Dzsudzsak wuld solve so many of our attacking problems, young quick winger/striker with amazing deadball ability. His crossing is excellent but he’s not afraid to take his man on AND shoot for goal too. Maybe im being unrealistic like those who think we can sign Van der Wiel who has all the major European sides tracking him (having cemented the RB slot for the Dutch national side)

Comment #35Typical how a Taraabt type player gets slated in English football, despite 16 goals and 16 assists and he was a 17 old in the premiership.
Yes 11m may be too high but funny how Fergie allegedly wants him and he’s not bad judge.
How many assists and goals do we get from Smith, Guthrie etc ?

liking the selections very good
this would be who i think we should bring in:
Grevinho RW/CF(11M)
Sigthornson ST (2M)
Wendt LB (Free)/ Cheick M Bengue (7M)
Larrson RM Free)
Elmander ST (Free)
Hubnik CM (4M)
Sow ST (10M)
Total Spent: 33M
The line up goes like this Playing a 4-4-1-1
————-Foster—————-
Simmo–Hubnik–Colo–Wendt
————Toite—————
Grevinho–Joey–Jonas
————Ben Arfa———
———–Sigthornson—–
Subs:
Harps
Nolan
Larrson
Gosling
Willamson
Elmander
Sow(or switch round with Sigthornson)
Beastly team top 6 finish every time because
it is balanced team with qualiity forwards and rock hard defence and also a sturdy midfield with senior players able to come from the bench and effect the game but fit in perfectly with the follow of the team

Comment #39No way would I pay 11M for Taarabt.
I have no idea how alot of you are leaving Nolan out of the starting line up, I would have him over Barton any day, and frankly I secretly hope that Barton doesnt sign a new contract; he’s a trouble maker and his passing isn’t as good as he says it is. I reckon he causes arguments within the squad, and I bet if he were to leave they’d be better harmony.
