Alan Pardew Demands Winning Mentality From His Players

Alan Pardew has come out and demanded the Newcastle players show a winning mentality form now on, and certainly for the remaining five games of the season.

Alan Pardew – Newcastle expects to win every game

As we said in our Match Preview, inconsistency has been the bane of Newcastle this season, but the lads must get themselves ready to put in a  very good shift tomorrow afternoon at Bloomfield Road, and don’t expect a fighting Blackpool side to be easy to turn over, either.

Newcastle are on 40 points but have very few wins of late, in fact only a single win in the last 6 games, so they can correct that tomorrow afternoon.

For all the great play on Tuesday night Newcastle still only got a single point, but if they can reproduce that form tomorrow afternoon, then they should be able to wrap up all 3 points, against a struggling Blackpool side.

This is the message that Alan Pardew gave today – and it’s a good one:

“This Club sells itself,” “This is a big, big Club and one in which I am trying to install a winning mentality, where we expect to win every game.”

“We went out against Manchester United expecting to win – I know that, because of the way we started.”

“We got that message through and have got that message to the players.” “And if any player wants to come here then that is the mentality I want them to have.”

“We will be in the market to bring players in to this Club, but now is the time for making sure we stay in this division, because we haven’t done that mathematically yet.”

“Blackpool gives us our first opportunity to get to 43 points, and we want to take it.” “This team is good enough to be in this division and good enough for a top ten finish.”

“We have five games to prove that.”

Newcastle have five games remaining, and this game, along with the home games against Birmingham and WBA, are three games where the lads should be able to collect all 9 points.

Newcastle must start beating teams that are below them in the league table.

Comments very welcome.

Heard that about Lovenkrands on the Legends but according to:

it has nothing to do with him being injured, he is on the bench.

The point against manure was massive. Gives us the freedom to go and express ourselves tomorrow. With the side now available we should dominate in midfield at least. Sure we can win this one.

I agree with that line up even if Loven is fit. We need to know if Ireland will make a impact prior to signing him and why not let him do it against the worst defence in the league. Also a packed midfield will upset the Blackpool game plan…they are not a easy team to beat imo and we shouldnt be over confident

Watching the Leeds Reading match atm and Gradel looks good pacey and decent at tackling also has a strong shot on him. Havent seen much of Long but looks to have a decent touch and strong in tackles

Also looking at championship players….what about Danny Graham, top scorer in the league at a barely mid table team. Born in Gateshead.

Long, Gradel and Graham from the championship couldnt cost more than 6 million surely? specially if we sent players in return…Smith, Loven, Ranger (on loan) and Airey (on loan)

typical statement from AP , trying to say all the right things to get on the side of the fans. the problem i have with him is that he is all gob and no action . how can players at the club give their all and have this ” winning mentality” if they dont know if they will be here next season, they dont trust the owner, is he going to spend the money ? are they going to give improved , or extensions to their contracts , the players need to know, or it will play on their minds , i notice joey bartons performances have dipped , just a bit , but noticable, jose another, so come on alan do your job, motivate them, talk to them stick up for them , tell your boss you want them here next year , and the year after , if he wont listen to AP who will he listen to? so instead of being all talk , show some b….ks, just like you expect your team to, dont allow yhese players to leave

    bosingwa – free
taraabt or gervinho – 10 mio
lukaku (or someone from french league although all french players move like 10 times in their career if i think about it:D) – 17 mio

thats all we need & would cost aprox 25 to 30 mio

    krull (forster)
bosingva (simpson) colo (taylor) wili (kadar) enrique (ferguson, kadar)
gervinho (vuckic, lualua) barton (gosling) tiote (guthrie) arfa (ferguson, vuckic)
    lukaku (ameobi, best, ranger)

    sell the rest!

Jose is definitely gone and I think we will sell Tiote and possibly Barton. It will be interesting to see who Pardew buys to replace them. Is he still driving the Ferrari he was posing with at the Irons? He must fancy himself as a real crumpet puller. Can’t see Wenger or Ferguson driving a Ferrari to the training ground but if it helps his ego and management qualities, I suppose I will put up with it.

Barton wants to stay and in all fairness to the lad no one will pay his wages and no one will stand by him like we have. Tiote seems to love playing for us and signed a huge contract because of that. We dont need another load of money to come in like we did with Carroll so aslong as he wants to stay he is going to imo.

As for Pardew driving a Ferrari unless he stole it I couldnt care less. If I had such amounts of money I would drive a flash car, why shouldnt he? No Fergy and Wenger wouldnt drive a Ferrari because I highly doubt they drive themselves to training grounds

I honestly think this is going to be a very fun attacking game. They are a good team but at the moment their home form is terrible letting in lots of goals. I believe 9 goals in last 3 home games, 3 in each. They have beaten us earlier this season and last season. But, i really think we will win this game! The lads had an excellent game vs Man U and we had them the whole first half and should of banged in a goal or 2. Lots of chances. But, to get a clean sheet and a point against the currently #1 team in England than that is massive point there. We have Tiote, Ireland and the captain Nolan back in midfield with Jonas and Barton so i believe we will rip them apart in that midfield. Just can’t wait for tomorrow…

    Newcastle United 4 – 1 Blackpool

    Ameobi with the hatrick!
    Ireland with 1 goal too!

Not in Ferraris no. I’d guess they are driven in a Merc or a Bentley or an outside shout at a Land Rover. Course Fergy could take a mobility scooter and Wenger ride a bike smelling of garlic 🙂 thats a joke not racisim and ageism.

Lee Dodd, Well said. At the start of the season it was survival that was important (17th place). Oh how things have changed. Chris Hughton was sacked (I wasn’t happy) Pardew came in (I wasn’t happy. But accept him now), Since Pardew came the goalposts have moved. We are in 9th place and a few still aren’t happy. Dead honest, it’s as if they are saying with Chris we would have accepted 17th but from Pardew we expect Europe. Makes no sense to me.

lee dodd , for a start our aim this season was to get 42+ points to stay in this league not 40 as stated in your comment, secondly ( the idiots not idEots) pulling the likes of pardew down so we are idiots for having an opinion that you dont agree with ?mmm however many on this blog could refer to you as a thick s..t for your comment on pushing for europe next season , of course your not , it is merely your opinion

jimiley, I am not a loser… ! I was happy with a draw as I was expecting us to be slaughtered 0-4 if not worse. I was going from our injuries and players barred. If I remember rightly I wasn’t the only person here with that fear, was I?

Why should we be happy with a draw against a bunch of Mancs who have only won 5 away games all season? Exactly the same number as away wins as us. Grow a set of balls and be a bit more positive. You have the front to call me negative!!!!

cheers bud. I am personally going to consider us safe if we win tomorrow :). Some of the teams below us have rough remaining games and we have 4 possible wins after tomorrow imo (am not deluded, chelsea are inconsistant and so are liverpool having said that draws are more likely).

Then its bring on the summer, bring on the new players and bring on the negativity

jimiley, “Why should we be happy with a draw against a bunch of Mancs who have only won 5 away games all season?”

Because they have been league champions 18 times and we haven’t.

Has nowt to do with balls, just recognition, reality if you prefer.

Safety is one thing, but in the last 15 years when have we seen a ManU side fail to turn up? That’s at least 3 totally new sides and each one has inherited a work-ethic and professionalism.

Sadly we can’t say the same. Pards has a better take on it than just ’3 points and we are safe’. It is the professional thing to do, and we need to finish as high as possible and the fans deserve only total effort and commitment. Our side must learn that mentality from ManU in order to emulate them. We expect them to play to the final whistle in matches and likewise we should expect them to play until the last game.

but pardew has really won me over – he says the right things, he is bold and tell it like it is.
ill go as far as saying he might be the best thing that has happened in the last year…..

2-1 to the Toon – Nolan & Ranger to score. Hope Fat Ireland rides the bench and is gone come next Season (lazier and slower than Ameobi). Krul will prove his worth again… not much to pick between him & Harper.

It’s now or never for the club to be ambitious for Cashley to open the wallet and retain Barton, sign Nolan for the long-term and bring-in some top signings not filler like Ireland… Otherwise we are in trouble come transfer season b/c tightwad Cashley will not open the wallet to bring anyone of value in and we will lose the Bull and likely Barton which will mean we can expect to lose Spiderman to the first bidder or on expiry of his contract and same for Nolan.

The result – Middling performance in the Prem a struggle to “stay-up”, Cashley maxes revenue of us lot filling the stands, concessions, buying the gear and being exposed to the marketing to see permanent mediocrity instead of a serious drive at the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and Prem League Title performances… I’m hoping but not very hopeful b/c a tiger rarely changes its stripes… I’m from across the pond and we have an example here… It’s pro Hockey and it’s the TML no Stanley Cup since ’67 for an original 6 club! Like NUFC a once proud club has been mired in high profits, a huge fanbase disappoined season after season by poor perfromance by abysmal mgm’t indifferent to the fans concerns b/c they are cranking out the dough… Let’s hop Cashley wants a few titles to brag about down at the Casino!!!
