Nolan Adds Goal Threat – As Good A Finisher As I’ve Seen

Alan Pardew welcome back his captain Kevin Nolan tomorrow ate Bloomfield Road where hopefully the lads can build on their great point on Tuesday night and get only their second win in 7 games.

Alan Pardew – as good a finisher as I’ve seen

Nolan has scored an impressive 30 goals in 88 appearances for Newcastle and has 80 total goals in 433 career appearances at club level, and we have to think he will keep scoring goals for Newcastle.

We hope he will keep scoring goals for Newcastle, and we expect Kevin to sign a new long term contract shortly, to stay on Tyneside, which is said to be well along.

Once he signs we hope Joey Barton will follow suit.

Alan Pardew talked about his captain to the Evening Chronicle today:

“Kevin offers us a real threat from set plays and free play when it comes to getting goals.”“Goals have been in short supply for us away from home.”

“Kevin is as good a finisher as I’ve seen. I’m not just talking about central midfielders – I am talking about strikers.”

“If he gets a chance he has the technical ability to take it, and nine times out of 10 he will put it in the back of the net.”

“He’s an outstanding character and very important to us.”

Al;an is not far form the truth when he says Kevin is an excellent finisher, because some the goals he’s scored for Newcastle have looked easy but were not.

And it was Kevin’s abilities and technique that made them look easy, and he’s a much better footballer than he’s given credit for.

The Newcastle captain has missed playing in the last couple of games and we have to hope he can make a big impact for the lads tomorrow, when Newcastle are likely to field a very decent side at Blackpool.

Here’s the side Alan could start tomorrow.

Krul
Simpson Coloccini Williamson Enrique
Barton Nolan (c) Tiote Gutierrez
Ameobi Lovenkrands.

That’s not a bad side at all, and there is more goal power with Kevin Nolan back in the side.

What team do you think Pardew will start tomorrow afternoon?

Comments welcome.

Would put Ireland in the forward line just behind Strolla, give him a chance.

As long as we win the game, I’ll be happy.

I would also like to see Blackpool avoid relegation as they and their Manager have fought every minute of every game this season. They are to be admired in my opinion, they have achieved some amazing results on a shoestring.

Same for me, Lovenkrands hasn’t been firing this season, would give Ireland a run out in a five man midfield.

@lee-nufc I totally agree, with ranger to come in for Ireland after about 60 mins. If its not working we could play Nolan behind Stroller and move Ireland back into the midfield 4.

all 3 pts are there for the taking htl

No team has kept a clean sheet at Bloomfield road this season, and I think I would genuinely cry with happiness if we were the first to do so.

We still concede sloppy goals, but I’m sure everyone would agree we probably have most solid defence we’ve had since the Prem began

Blackpool have been sussed. They play good football but their defence is s-l-o-w. A quick ball through the middle is enough to do them. Could be a start for Ranger if Pards and Co. have done their homework.

this article is about kevin nolan being a brilliant finisher, so would it not make sense to play nolan behind the striker instead of ireland and ireland in the centre lol? also sav lovenkrands is fast so we could play him to get in behind the defense as he has that in his locker, could be the perfect game for him tommorow what you think?

so wait AP thinks Nolan is a better finisher than Tevez? Wow! Fair play to Nolan he has grown on me even more this season than last.

Off topic but I was wondering do you think Gutierrez’s sudden form is down to Ben Arfa returning? just a little something which could be possible.

Just think if that is the case then how great out squad will be next season will loads more competition!

    Simpson Taylor willo Enrique
    Tiote
    Barton Gutierrez
    Nolan ireland
    Ameobi
Would bring Taylor in cos let’s face he is the CB of the future and I think if u played cheiko sittin behind Nolan and ireland it would work really well

first of all; ireland is not fit enough to start….its obvious and pardew has said that

second loverpants movement and runs had manure on they heels in the first half – he was outstanding running out wide and in the channels.
im not normally not a great fan of loverpants mainly cause i think he is wasting his talent. in his earlier years at rangers he was dribling taking anyone on as soon as he got the ball, now hes scared when he gets it,,he got tremendious pace but always lays the ball back or shoot instantly….hes better than that…but has become alibi-peter….

but he was exelent against manure…and in my humble opinion i think he works well with the donkey as last seen against wolves.

lovenkrands hasnt been scoring……but yous want shola up front you having a laugh…….lovenkrands is unselfish and has a great footballing brain nolan can use that too his advantage playing just behind lovenkrands…..i hate the long ball the players we have we should be playing short fluid passing game

I’ve already mentioned today to someone that id like to see Ireland involved instead of lovenkrands. He looked very eager and intelligent to get on the end of some of strolla ameobi’s knockdowns.

I can’t wait til we have one or two quality forwards. Id love gervinho and sow. Been watching stigthorsson as well today who looks gifted and is only 19.

Put them in front of our midfield and add Ben magic man in and wer rockin and rolling next year.

    I agree with Ed’s team.

    Same subs as MUFC game.

    Ireland for Lovenkrands (60-65 mins)
Ranger for Ameobi (70 -75 mins)

i would like to be given an opportunity a kuqi, but i would begin with lovenkrands and nile ranger for its speed as he would do harm beacause blackpool is obliged to attack and that we would genarate space for scored.

    my lineup

    krul.
    simpson colo willo enrique
    barton nolan/irleand tiote jonas
    lovenkrands ranger/nolan.

    Alan,
You need to get out and about mate. Have you not seen Shearer or Andy Cole or Messi or Pele or Maradonna or van Basten etc etc etc He is no doubt as good as Stroller is the best striker you have worked with!!!! After selling Carrol and the promises about keeping him, its difficult to believe anything you say. No doubt the sale of Jose in June will come as a complete surprise|!!! Watch this space re Tiote and possibly Barton.
