Alan Pardew welcome back his captain Kevin Nolan tomorrow ate Bloomfield Road where hopefully the lads can build on their great point on Tuesday night and get only their second win in 7 games.
Alan Pardew – as good a finisher as I’ve seen
Nolan has scored an impressive 30 goals in 88 appearances for Newcastle and has 80 total goals in 433 career appearances at club level, and we have to think he will keep scoring goals for Newcastle.
We hope he will keep scoring goals for Newcastle, and we expect Kevin to sign a new long term contract shortly, to stay on Tyneside, which is said to be well along.
Once he signs we hope Joey Barton will follow suit.
Alan Pardew talked about his captain to the Evening Chronicle today:
“Kevin offers us a real threat from set plays and free play when it comes to getting goals.”“Goals have been in short supply for us away from home.”
“Kevin is as good a finisher as I’ve seen. I’m not just talking about central midfielders – I am talking about strikers.”
“If he gets a chance he has the technical ability to take it, and nine times out of 10 he will put it in the back of the net.”
“He’s an outstanding character and very important to us.”
Al;an is not far form the truth when he says Kevin is an excellent finisher, because some the goals he’s scored for Newcastle have looked easy but were not.
And it was Kevin’s abilities and technique that made them look easy, and he’s a much better footballer than he’s given credit for.
The Newcastle captain has missed playing in the last couple of games and we have to hope he can make a big impact for the lads tomorrow, when Newcastle are likely to field a very decent side at Blackpool.
Here’s the side Alan could start tomorrow.
Simpson Coloccini Williamson Enrique
Barton Nolan (c) Tiote Gutierrez
That’s not a bad side at all, and there is more goal power with Kevin Nolan back in the side.
What team do you think Pardew will start tomorrow afternoon?
