Premier League Results All Go Newcastle’s Way Again

Even though the display was a a disappointing one today from Newcastle at Bloomfield Road, when they could only draw 1-1 at 4th bottom Blackpool, nearly all the rest of the Premier League results today went Newcastle’s way.

Only one team beneath Newcastle in the league gained any points on Newcastle this afternoon, and that was Sunderland, who had their first win in 10 games, when they beat 3rd bottom Wigan 4-2 at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland are now level on points(41) with Newcastle, but have  a much worse goal difference, but now both Newcastle and Sunderland seem to be safe from relegation.

As I told my friend Peter a couple of weeks ago, who was born and bred in Sunderland, it’s very important for Sunderland to stay in the Premier League, so Newcastle can hammer them twice each season. 😀

There were 4 wins and 4 draws today in England’s top league, and three of the wins were by teams above Newcastle in the league.

Liverpool hammered a woeful looking Birmingham side 5-0, Manchester United got a late goal to beat Everton 1-0 at Old Trafford, and Chelsea were just too good for West Ham, whom they beat 3-0, and Fernando Torres got his first goal for Chelsea, and he looked so relived and delighted – that was good to see.

Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Stoke, who wasted time from the very first minute of the game – what a way to play the game, and both sides stay below Newcastle in the league. Stoke were clocked to take 30 seconds on average for each set play – goal kicks, corners, throw-ins from Rory Delap and free kicks.

And Wolves could only draw 1-1 with Fulham, after they had gone ahead after 22 minutes with a goal from Steven Fletcher.

West Brom got a creditable 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane, but Spurs should be winning these games if they are going to qualify for the Champions League again this season, which now looks a little unlikely.

Newcastle are in 9th place on 41 points, but are only above both Aston Villa and Sunderland on goal difference, and it looks like Newcastle will need to start winning a few games if  they are to finish in the top 10 this season.

So given the other results today the draw at Blackpool doesn’t look too bad now, but it was still a poor performance from the lads this afternoon.

Tiredness following the Red Devils game, was what Alan Pardew used as an excuse after the game for the very poor performance, in a game Blackpool should really have won on merit.

And it’s looking like the three Ws – West Ham, Wolves and Wigan could all go down, as they are the bottom three teams after today’s games, and there are only four games remaining, although Wolves do have a game in hand.

Agreed, in fact, I will miss Olly when Pool get relegated. He’s an absolute mentalist with some of the stuff he says. Like a downclass Mouriniho. I still think he is a better manager than ours too.

krul and one or 2 others apart we were woeful today.

Where was the exciting attacking football ?

With his recent half dozen dsplays, barton should just for once kep his mouth shut.

We have no pace or creativity or finishers.

Hopefully Ben Arfa and Gameiro / Sow will provide that next season.

Really hope we can offload Campbell, Smith, Perch, Shola etc.

Trouble is better players are one thing, but tactically today and in other games Pardwho is shocking.

Great point we were soo poor today lacking any quality in the attacking part.
But did enough, played bad but got a point. Nice to see us building on last week, hopefully game at ManU and today dont tire us too much cause it looked a little jadeded today and we need them fresh for Liverpool on Sunday!

I honestly cannot stand the man. His head has grown too much after all the praise he recieved at the start of the season, and now I find him unbearable.

Did you see him jumping around like some kind of retard when, from miles away, he thinks that they should have had a penalty. Which actually was FANTASTIC goal keeping by Krul.

I really really hate the guy. Think he’s embarassing to himself and his team.

At least Pardwho is respectable – always talks calmly to the press, has nothing but good words about managers, players and clubs.

Holloway was entertaining to start with but it’s coming a little boring now almost as bad as Fergie for it. They are a poor team and if we had anything up top we would of beat them yes they might of battered us but when we did go forward we look threatening but without any real quality. One thing that concerns me is Barton when he is not at his best we struggle and have nothing. Everything comes through him so hopefully we can add someone to take that load of him next season so when he goes through a bad spell like he has been we can cope.

Man U were flat as well today so it wasn’t just us. I think Everton were robbed a point there.

As for the managers, Ollie is and will always be a manager for a scrap. The guy gets ordinary players to play above their ability, but I think he’s too much of a nutter to do even better with a good team. Big Sam reckons that just because he did alright with ordinary teams like Bolton and Blackburn, he’d win a treble with Real Madrid – yeah right. Look at Roy Hodgson.

Still, I want B’pool to go down. Of all the teams in the relegation scrap, we have the most trouble with them.

I think he’s a right prick to be honest, he just slags off everyone else and spits bollocks. When they played Southampton in the FA cup or whatever he said in the interview the fans were jeering his team and singing that they were going down. Well I was there and I know none of that happened, in fact one or two of their players on the day were ex-saints players and received a terrific reception. He is a retarded prick

    Who Holloway? @Jamesnufc86?

If so he isnt no where near being smart, while at Plymouth with great players scoring for fun he left to join Leister and got them relegated and sacked. He got lucky with morale and having 1 top player in Adam, other than that you can see last like 1o+ games they have been poor letting in ALOT of goals next season if they stay he wont have that morale at the start and luck and will be in relegation zone.

If he was a good manager he would of cashed in on Adams before everyone realises he is very overrated. He couldn’t get a game at Rangers which tells you something.

news of the world are a bunch of shit stirrers who should be put out of business. How they can away with what they do is beyond me. So what if Shearer has slept with her is it really necessary to do a big undercover story and probably ruin her career as she will come off worse than Shearer.

we need a hernandez cos i think once ben arfa is fit (i know pards has said that where he see’s him playing) he can be our rooney hopefully the gamiero link is true cos that would be ideal and have a good young big lad on the bench just to be able to switch styles, with a good right winger and maybe someone with steel and better quality at the back to play alongside colo like cahill or samba and a replacement for el toro we could be competing for europe next year

We were lucky to get a point today. Many players, as already mentioned, just did not turn up today.

Nolan, sluggish n slow most of the game, Barton’s passing again poor and a bad day for Tiote. To add Enrique did just enough and no real fire power up front.

Why does Pardew leave it so late for subs, I’d have brought Nolan off 1st half and then he let the team play for a draw in the second half! Unbelievable. AND why the long ball….. PAP

but atleast a point towards to survival!

Holloway reminds me of Joe Kinnear. Funny and refreshingly honest at first but then you just gradually realize he cannot control himself and rarely takes the mature option instead preferring to make a mountain out of every molehill he can find. It grows tired fast unless you are winning
