Bayern Munich Want Newcastle Left Back Jose Enrique

It seems that top clubs are queuing up to sign Newcastle United left-back, Jose Enrique, in the summer.

Jose Enrique – in action at Blackpool yesterday

And the latest club to be once again linked with him are German Champions Bayern Munich, who are said to be ready to join Liverpool and AC Milan in the battle to sign Jose Enrique.

There is news this morning that Joey Barton is very likely to sign a three year extension to stay at Newcastle, and Kevin Nolan is also said to be close to signing a new long term deal at Newcastle, but it could be that Jose Enrique will be on his bike in the summer.

Liverpool have been reported to be in the lead position to sign Jose, but if he is to leave Newcastle, then we have to hope there will be an auction for him in the summer, that will push up the transfer fee.

Apparently, Bayern have a £100M transfer kitty for this summer, and have made Enrique one of their priority targets.

Jose has one year left of his contract, which runs out in14 months time, and if he does leave Newcastle will want a big fee for one of their top players.

Apparently, club officials from Bayern were at a packed St James’ Park on Tuesday night, to watch Enrique in Newcastle’s 0-0 draw with league leaders Manchester United.

Alan Pardew is still hopeful that Jose will elect to stay on Tyneside, and sing a new deal, and since Newcastle are now clear of any relegation trouble, then negotiations presumably will start with Newcastle.

But the fact Newcastle have been linked with a number of left backs in the transfer market in recent weeks, suggests that Jose may indeed be on his way in the summer.

If he does go as his recent performances suggest we should go all out for Van Aanholt from Chelsea. I think he is even better than Enrique. We could get Taiwo or another LB that can play RB as well for extra cover.

If JE plays any more games like yesterday, I will happily give him a piggy back over to Munich! Van Aanholt should be inquired about, as a priority.

He must not be allowed to move to Liverpool but if the money is right then go abroad. He has been a great servant and like toonboy_84’s mam, he always performs with the odd performance like he has cum in his eyes…..

I hate to put a downer on it guys, but thinking we’r going to get 20m is ridicuous.

He has one year left on his contract, we’ll be lucky to get 8m.

And Kilcline, what’s with the constant commenting about toonboy? Not really fitting with the spirit of the forum..

He is rubbish now, overconfident because of all the attention and makin many many mistakes! He can leave any time, and I feel if Fergie puts on a few pounds of muscle he’s a better and more straight-forward left back. At least going by Jose’s recent form.

I think we could get a good replacement from Celtic in a straight swap for fraser forster. Been watching their left back izagerre, he’s great, and then we’d keep our Latino Left Side with Colo-Iza-Jonas.

I love Enrique’s passion for NUFC, but since Hughton got fired and Carroll got sold he started to (Rightly) question where the club is going. If he’s lost heart, let him go, and thank him for what he did for us.

ToonDownSouth and gazza going fishing, it doesn’t matter how long his contract has left. We have something that others want (a case of demand and supply if you like. If Milan is offering 13,5 million, Liverpool 15 million and now Bayern (may) have just entered the frame. Just how much do you think we may get for Enrique? 8 million seems to be a backward step

Hopefully if he is to go and it turns into a bidding war and we end up with £18m surely it’s very good business. £18m plus the AC money and we are laughing!

If the fat man spends any of it, he is tighter than toonboy_84’s dad, hence why his woman goes looking elsewhere.

I just hope that Elmander and Larsson are not our best transfers in the summer.

It wont be a huge fee with only 1 year left on his contract and he is a full back not a striker!

What depresses me is that he is such a charismatic figure for us and such a threat going forward, as well as being the strongest and quickest defender in the PL.

It’s obvious lately that he is making more mistakes and giving the ball away in dangerous areas, as though he hs lost interest.

We need to make a big signing to convince him that this is where he can achieve his ambitions!

Come on Ashley; surprise us all 🙂

GG- A think clubs will be aware of his situation, and hold out till aughast to start there bidding. But true point, if man city or interested then his price value will definatley inflate lol. What about leighton baines as a replacement? surley 10 million would bring him to the toon.

@kilcline. We live in hope! Why was Phil ‘big nose’ Thompson saying the deal for Jose done for £15m? Jose will not go on the cheap as descent young left backs are a rare breed. I think the summer will be interesting. I read somewhere that Lukaku’s asking price has been dropped to £12m as he is off form currently. 100% worth a punt!

Sorry mate but I HAVE to disagree with your assessment that the Premier League is the best in the world. Spainish League is the best. England, Germany, Italy and France are all pretty much on par. Premier League just has more money for now.

If Jose is going to leave I dont see why we dont ask for player +cash for him or use him and cash to get someone from them. Specially if AC and Bayern are wanting him so badly.

Jose+cash to Bayern in order to get Muller or Gomez coming to us. Or Silva from AC or Pato

It will be interesting to see how taarabt does next season, i think QPR will want too keep him as they are back in the prem. I have watched him and he is good but when he gets man marked he can go missing.

I would like to see us raid some of the clubs that will go down, the likes of Jarvis would be good additions.

haha fair point just couldnt think of anyone else I’d personally want in a toon shirt who urrently plays for AC.

But Muller and Gomez arent too bigger shouts if you ask me. If they have 100 million to spend come summer they could easily replace one of them. If Enrique is valued at 15 mill add another 10 mill in cash and pay Gomez or Muller Enriques wages (+a fair add on to that)

Apologies to anyone who has to read this tripe. I know this is an NUFC blog but kilcline is a donkey raping, sh*t eater who keeps abusing me for no reason whatsoever so I feel I have to stoop to his level.

@kilcline. James McCarthy from Wigan would be a great addition from a relegated team. £4-5m should get him. Kevin Doyle, Hugo Rodelaga, Victor Moses, Wayne Bridge, Thomas Hitzelberger just to name a few who have looked impressive.

GeordieGerman, the 13.5m and 15m figures have just been pulled out of some “journalists” arse though haven’t they lol. I’d be happy if we got that much of course, I just think everyone heard the 15m figure and it seems to have stuck.

One paper quoted 8m, but as fans we chose to ignore that lol. It’s nice to be optomistic, I just know how devastated everyone will be if we get half of what everyone is hoping for.

Toonboy_84, ignore him (too late came the cry lol) I’ve read this blog from start to finish and cannot understand why he picks on you the way he does.

As for Jose, maybe it is the right time for him to move on, he’s played well for us and his ambitions are probably alot higher than our owner’s. He wants to play for his country and isn’t getting a shout while he’s here. I don’t want him to leave but understand if he does and would hope he goes abroad if he does go.

    Good point GG 🙂

In the same way Bale will end up going for about 30-40m. I appreciate his talent, but how many great games has he actually had this season? A phenomenal game against Inter at WHL, and a good 10 minutes at the end of the San Siro match.

Compare his goal & assist count to that of Nani’s and Nasri’s and he’s nothing that special. But the papers will get him sold for 4x his value…
