Let’s Try To Keep Jose Enrique On Tyneside

It looks like Kevin Nolan could be signing a new long term contract soon at Newcastle, and when he does Joey Barton has promised to do the same.

Jose Enrique – in action Saturday

So if that happens that would be great news, but we’re not too sure about Jose Enrique.

While Jose may have already made up his mind to leave Newcastle we are going to do our best to try to persuade him to stay.

And now is a good time since with Newcastle being safe, we assume the club are going to enter into negotiations with Jose and his agent on a new contract, to get him to commit long term to Newcastle.

It may not work of course, but it’s worth a try – so if you want to tell Jose to stay on Tyneside, and maybe why you want him to stay – you can send him a note HERE.

Maybe it only takes Jose getting notes from Newcastle fans to persuade him to stay on Tyneside, for the next few years.

It could be a lost cause but  if you want to help – please send Jose a note.

If the club can keep Nolan, Barton and Enrique on Tyneside for the next few seasons, we’ve got a great chance to challenge for the top six and get back to being a great side.

Howay The Lads!!

I hope he stays………………………but if he wants to go, then we have to let him go.

hopefully we can do the double over liverpool, and surely that would convince Jose to stay haha
If he goes to Bayern or somewhere like that, I dont blame him, but I think he should also wait and see who we buy…If we buy good players and become likely Europa League candidates…if he stays he will go down as one of the best left backs weve had at newcastle…

I don’t think it’s a case of us convincing Enrique to stay. But a case of Enrique forcing Ashley’s hand.

I hope that he appalling performance on Saturday isn’t an indication that he’s already had his head turned. Really like the lad, but I accept we’re probably going to have to replace him in the summer. Shame.

The biggest problem is that, imo there are not that many good/proven epl left backs around. I believe we would struggle to replace him with a descent enough player.

Has anyone send a message via the link Ed gave. Maybe we should point out that the grass is not always greener………………………Just ask Owen, Beye, Given, etc

I’m sick and tired of ED having to repost the same articles of having to persuade players who have already made up their mind where their future lie..personally I would love Jose to stay…but his body language and efforts on the pitch seem to show a player who made his choice already.
So we should start looking for his replacement as soon as possible.

Super Bartooon. If the club has any sense they already are looking at replacements. But its still worth a try for the fans to try and convince him to stay.

Don’t get my wrong, I know theres always about a 5% chance of keeping him, but you never know.

I have 100% trust on Graham Carr, he find Tiote and he will find left back, better than Enrique. But the whole thing is very doubtful… how suddenly Enrique’s form dropped at the moment that came the interest from L’pool. In this Newcastle team only Tiote is irreplaceable.

Are we safe? Not quite yet. Only when it’s mathematically impossible for us to get relegated will you see these players signing on the dotted line. However, Jose will unfortunately not be one of those. He’s given great service over the last few years but his head has been turned. Wish it wasn’t the case but think he’s on his way.

With the right investment in LB, RW and strikers i think we will be fantastic next season providing Jose stays…..this is what the management need to think about….a solid hard working team with flair and strikers that can win a game on their own if certain players are having off days

    Send him a note?
    Are you serious?
Is 50,oo0 fans cheering him and 60k a week not enough, like?
Look, Ed, if they want to stay, they can stay, if they want to go, they can go. I’ll cheer them and chant their name and clap them off but its still just a game and I’m not getting down on one knee for any footballer. And if we gewt the reported 15 mil for Jose then if Carr and Pardew are any good at all they will get a good replacement and maybe a cover for him as well, with change.

Sav you are absolutely right 50,000 thousand fans chanting your name doesn’t get you to stay…then Mr. Enrique should just remove the black and white strip lace up his walking boots and jog on right out of St.James.
We don’t need half hearted efforts on the pitch from deluded players who think they will play week in week out at the so called bigger teams.

JJ – Ben Arfa is going to be used as a ‘No 10’ (just behind the striker(s). Jonas will be left on the wing

    simpson – samba/phil jones – collo – Baines/van anh

    barton – nolan – tiote – jonas

    ben arfa
I know Lukaku is a longshot, aswell as Samba, but we need a no nonsense cb, which is better than williamson.. Would also love a target man up there with ben arfa, so he could play off him.
I would also loan out ranger/vuckic/fergie etc.

Enrique hasn’t had a decent game since he got a pet lip over the sale of Carroll. He’s either been injured, or crap, as against Blackpool and Fulham, when both winning goals against us were down to his casual, crap, defending. We have young Ferguson, and evidently money to spend, so let him go for Christ’s sake, he obviously wants to.

totally agree. not going to shed tears if he leave. but i’ll be happy if he stays.

maybe we should look for a LB who can actually defend:p

norwegian star(?) striker\winger Erik Huseklepp has a relegation release clause @ Bari. He is now avalable for something close to 1,5m. as an impact sub\squad player he would be a good signing.

When you supposedly have Clubs like Milan, Beyern an Pool interested in an ambitious player who wants to represent his national side.
How then do you hold onto him ?
I believe the best we can hope for is to get a decent fee for him, the fifteen million is i believe absurd, but hell stranger things have happened.
You can pick up two decent defenders for that kinda dough.

The thing I don’t like about this is it is this Club that has helped him win the plaudits intrernationally(Club wise), if he’d been at say Liverpool from the start, he never would have had the chance or suppport to keep playing, where’s the Love ay Enrique, Colo’s showing it,
Have tried sending messages via NUFC, keep getting error messages, if anyone does get it working, double it for me pls.

You are a scouser, a dirty scouser etc etc
Come on the Toon, prove you are class boys!

He does not seem to play with that kind of passion he was once known for.

I can only fear the worst. In fact, i would go as far as to say i think he has already made his mind up.
