It could be that a bidding war is brewing for Newcastle’s top left-back Jose Enrique.
Jose Enrique – has been great for Newcastle
Let’s be clear from the start, that we would love for Jose to stay on Tyneside, because he’s a good player and been very loyal to the club in his nearly four years on Tyneside, and he always gives 100% when he pulls on the famous black and white shirt of Newcastle.
However, if the Spaniard wants to leave, we’ll be honest and say we’d like nothing better than a bidding war to develop between the interested club, who are currently said to be Liverpool, Bayern Much and AC Milan, although there may be others enter the fray.
According to reports in Germany today, Newcastle have received an official bid from German Champions Bayern Munich for Jose, who is now 25 years old.
Jose has only 14 months left on his five year contract, and he was signed by then manager Sam Allardyce in August of 2007 for £6.2M from Villareal, and after a difficult first season, Jose has turned out to be a terrific buy for the club.
The German reports don’t know exactly how much has been bid for the player, but are reporting it’s definitely in excess of the £9M Liverpool have said to have offered for the player.
There are different amounts being touted around in terms of the fee, and Liverpool legend Phil Thompson a couple of weeks ago said Liverpool would pay £15M for Enrique, but that seems a lot of money for a player with just over a year of his contract left – but we’ll take it. 😀
As we said, we hope Jose stays on Tyneside, and there’s still a chance he will do just that, but if he does leave, let’s make sure Newcastle get as much as they can for him, and invest that money in this summer’s transfer market, in terms of fees and wages for players who are coming to Tyneside.

Comment #46while we need players tht arent from the championship and already have a proven quality there are some championship players that can be bought cheaply enough that are good enough to boost our thread bare squad
u cant have a squad of superstars unless your the likes of madrid
a show with charlton last night made a good point three players won them pretty much everything law, best and charlton
u need those few special players then also a team that has good depth
man utd prime example u cud say that chelsea arsenals and maybe even man city have a better first 11 but man utd have 3 or 4 special players the likes of nani giggs rooney and hernadez the rest are pretty average as an attacking force but all work hard and when they have players missing they have the numbers to field a half decent side

Comment #54jose has always said that he loves it here , and i believe him , now , if it was true that we are going for all these great players would that , maybe tempt him to sign a new contract. ok he is ambitious , but if pards was to show the same ambition could that be enough to sway him , or does he want more? why leave somewhere he loves ?

Comment #55well id take bein a dip**** who clearly knows what a good player looks like then a football snob whos idea of a good footballer is they have to cost more than 15million over wise there tom tit
yea there down at bottom bcoz there sqauds are crap but they have two or three quality players n the like of jarvis, doyle, rodeglla, nzogbia, parker, demba ba, cole, samba, holliett, adams will be bought by prem teams shud they be relegated

Comment #56i hope there is a bidding war cause we could do with the money. and as for buying championship players 1 maybe yes but not more than 2 thats a joke we should be getting decent lads in from all over the top leagues to show our ambition as a club going places if they are any good why havent the likes of manu, man city, chelsea etc went in for them or in fact many other prem clubs……we are a bigger club than buying championship players

Comment #58there are players in the teams going down that would improve our squad also we have been linked to a good few younger players this week like the argie striker n wanyama from some team in belgium its just about quality rather how much or how good his rep is

Comment #59stuff it because i had a rant the other day but i would take carlton cole any day of the week think he would be a total different player in our squad. i wouldnt mind a few players from the relegated clubs from the prem definately make a difference to us. @davybtoon your right mate we have been there and done that at buying massive players well so called players but its time for a change and i think it will work in time because its not going to be overnight success

Comment #63ive had a season ticket since i was 16 and i also played football so im not clueless at all mate. we arent going to get massive players so your saying you would have shola over cole? shola shouldnt even be at newcastle now we should have cashed in on him years ago even though we wouldnt of got much

Comment #64What people need to start thinking, is why would all these great players want to come to Newcastle? We have no European football to offer, we’ve just been promoted, we have a low profile manager, and well documented ownership issues – despite the positive of fantastic support.
This is going to be a slow building process. We won’t be buying Gervinho or Sow.

Comment #70we hav the chance to get any player from the french league n dutch league we are still regarded as massive club over there hence the reson were targetin those markets, we may not hav eurpeon footie to offer but in france bcoz of the way we handled hba were very well thought of n moussa sow is very realistic target top 4 wont b goin for him, which means we hav a chance as we do with gamerio, even gervinho bcoz tiote, n if rumours are true we have officals in france ryt now trying to tie 3 deals

Comment #72whether we want massive players or not ain’t an issue your only as big as where you finish at the end of a season not how many fans you have or how big your ground its harsh but true cole wouldn’t do it for me either would love rodellaga gets normally 10-15 goals a season in a poor plays on the last defender would stretch the play allowing ben arfa to have more room between def and mid to play has good movement and has prem experiance not sure of his age but i don’t think he is that old

Comment #76I know what has been said about us having a good reputation due to HBA, but I read someone on here the other day suggesting that that means Benzema may want to come here.
But I also agree that, with the possible exception of Best who hasn’t had a long enough chance, NONE of our strikers are good enough for a top half side. I would ley McLoven and Shola leave, but I’m sure we wont.
I’d be happy with Cole or Rodellaga over what we currently have.
