Kevin Nolan – My New Deal Almost Done And Dusted

As we were told yesterday Kevin Nolan’s deal to stay long term at Newcastle is almost complete and ready to be signed.

Kevin Nolan – a great captain for Newcastle

Kevin has been in advanced discussions with the club for a good few weeks now as Alan Pardew is hoping to build up some momentum to keep all his good players at the club on long term deals.

Kevin is Newcastle’s top scorer with 12 goals, and he is the lifeblood of the side, and we think could turn out to be one of the best Newcastle captains for a long long time.

This is what Kevin has told the local Newcastle press:

“Most things have been agreed and I would think I will sign next week or the week after,”

“The gaffer and the board have been great about it. It’s almost done and dusted.”

Most Newcastle fans are hoping that once Kevin signs, the n the other leader on Tyneside,  Joey Barton,  will do exactly the same thing, and then whether Jose Enrique will elect to stay at Newcastle longer term is a very good question.

The odds at the moment are probably against that happening, but we hope he does.

For the record Kevin so far has a fantastic record at Newcastle, with 89 appearances and 30 goals – long may he continue leading Newcastle United. 😀

Comments welcome.

    1) terminate Ameobi’s contract – to show we are ambitious enough WITHOUT him

    2) Bring back the yellow jersey – The Queen wear the beautiful yellow today 🙂

All we ever bang on about on here is the fact we have no depth in the squad…..Sholas not a world beater but on his day he can make a hell of a impact

Shola is our next no 9 for the next 10 years. let offer him a new contract, 20 years of football with automatic selection and a bonus fee for every single chances he MISSED.

Brutoon what kind of supporter are you to slag off one of the most loyal players we have? he’s stuck with us through thick and thin and he’s not the worlds best striker but he comes up with the goods when we need him to. When we went down he got us off to a gd start with all those goals before he got injured, if he hadnt scored those goals we might not have gone on a good run a stayed down there. Show the man a little respect.

i said this millions of time, Shola is not LOYAL to NUFC – he is just NOT good enough that not a SINGLE football club (or maybe clown club) would want to SIGN HIM !

If Shola got the golden opportunity to move like Andy Carroll with improve wages i bet he will also do that !

11 years playing with NUFC, its time Shola Ameobi gave us the fan HIS RESPECT. Stop those lazy attitude, even Kuqi run 5 times better than Ameobi

your right brutooon, he nearly signed for stoke when they were championship, (loan, with view to permanent) but they opted out when he played 6 times with, suprisingly, 0 goals

Connor Nufc : Birmingham confuse him with Obafemi Martins……..BUT they finally realise it and sign the right striker.

Signing Ameobi = wont win trophy
    Signing Obafemi = won trphy

    Brutoon thats nonsense.
Ameobi is not the prolific striker We want, he is inconsistent bit he is one of the top scorers in Europe for us , has scored more goals in NE series than others and has chipped in with vital goals. As a back up he is sufficient and even with new strikers he will play a part regardless of our opinions any theories We have of new signing upfront next yr.

why do people come onto a blog owned by a third party and start to dictate what should be discussed if you want that go start your own blog I want to hear from all sides I don’t always except others views but if I was like some of the bloggers on hear I would dine with Colonel Muamar Gadhafi, stay with the Saudi royal family for my holidays, and keep Saddam Hussein’s bone’s in my cellar, the so called negative views level thing out, and stop mike Ashley from waking up and thinking he’s loved by all, really some are like school kids.

Brutooon……..your hatred of Shola is blinding you to the fact that he is our best striker….I know that is a sad indictment as to how far we have fallen, but unless we really do go and invest in several quality players this summer, he would remain on my retained list…….I would willingly trade any other of our forwards without hesitation, Lovenkrands being the only one who has been a decent footballer before he lost a yard…

I think the point that brutoon is trying to make is that when we have a new striker (hopefully a great one!) There’s not a lot of place for ameobi when we can have best, lovenkrands or maybe even ranger next to him. Ameobi had his day but it is now over, turns like a bus and is lazy as the day is long!

the point I’m making, Jedi, is that we need more than 1 good striker……..Nolan and AC scored half our goals this year…..without numbers and quality we will struggle badly in our 2nd season…..SnoopDog should be nowhere near a Prem team at the mo and I’m afraid I don’t rate Lionel Richie either…….

Just my point of view, but it’s getting boring. There’s an article about Kevin Nolan signing and the comments are about how much of a joke Pardew is; how much of a useless striker Shola is; how the fat cockney bastard is lining his pockets with money from the club… It just goes on and on and on. And it doesn’t seem to matter what the subject is. Could be talking about the type of grass they use at St James’ and it somehow gets back to the same sh*t.

It’s just so boring… and people (myself included) just don’t want to talk about it any more. Depressing crap…

Ameobi been with us for 11 seasons, YES i do admit he score goals but he is frustrating all the time. Some said he got one good game every 12 games…(which is totally true)

My point is with his quality, Ameobi would be a good 4th or maybe 5th choice striker even for a relegation team (Wigan,Westham etc)

And come on guys, he is 29 yrs old – he wont have more years to come.

    Just some stats (this season)

Shola Ameobi – 24 Appearance and ONLY 5 goals

Leon Best – 10 Appearance and 6 goals

Notice the difference? Leon Best never play at the Premierleague…..and Ameobi most apperances are from the 1st min

Brutooon Way get shot Ameobi fool when he is a good football player and do not have very squad or even very good but good enough keep us up in the prem we need to build then we can sell him on we to think of the future. The future belongs to those who prepare for it today’ Malcolm X.

Strolla ameobi is so frustrating yet unfortunately, he is the best we have, which is no surprise we are on the whole, an average side. Buy two quality forwards and with Ben arfa back, our midfield and central defence, its a different ball game. We would be challenging for Europe, and can certainly do it next year as long as we sign two, or certainly one (to play with Ben arfa) centre forward/s. Ameobi reverts to his natural position at Newcastle, as back up.

That’s all he is though. That’s what he’s always been. I say to my dad after we’ve been to the match, that shola is basically the same player as he was when he was 18, except he’s heavier and is a bit stronger in the air. So frustrating. I don’t mind him being back up. But there should always be two quality forwards ahead of him for us to be in a position to improve and climb the table.
