Steven Taylor Waxes Lyrical About Andy Carroll

Probably the two best youngsters to come through the Newcastle Academy over the last several years are local lads Andy Carroll and Steven Taylor.

Andy Carroll – while still a Newcastle player

Steven played with Andy for some four years, and is almost exactly three years older than the Gateshead-born striker, with both players being born in the month of January and both have played for the England U21 side, and of course big Andy is now a full England International.

Steven has talked about Andy Carroll today:

“Andy was here since he was a young lad and it’ll be a big day for him,” he said.

“He’s done fantastic for Newcastle, he’s scored some great goals for us this season and of course against Liverpool.”

“But it’ll be a good moment for him to play against us and for the lads too because we used to train and play with him.”

“They’re in good form but we’ve got to perform like we know we can.”

We’re so pleased that Steven is so magnanimous about his former team-mate Andy Carroll.

It would not be good to even mention that Andy broke Steven’s jaw in a confrontation between the two local lads just over a year ago.

Whoops.

In all fairness odds on neither will play. Carrolls injured (again you say?) and Taylor isnt getting in our starting 11

    Thus I dont care 🙂

Maybe Ed had a bit of a “meeting” with AC’s lass. Can’t see why else he’d be sucking up to him otherwise.

I can’t believe how many people wax lyrical these days. Where did this craze come from?

I really hope Enrique doesn’t leave for Liverpool, else we’ll have articles about him every day as well!

& I hope Barton clatters him, just for the fans enjoyment.

why would he enjoy playing against newcastle, I could think of nowt worse if I was a footballer. Imagine scoring against the toon. I’d be devastated. Having said that Shearer used to gan beserk.

Truth be told, waxing lyrical is the craze these days. I often wax lyrical, truth be told.

One day I hope Ed mixes things up and waxes poetic.

Off topic: Im not 100% on this but I heard a while back (Can’t remember where) that QPR’s option to buy Routledge was only if they get promoted, if QPR get fined 15 points and don’t get promoted will Routledge stay?

Welsh Toon – I think he’ll go to QPR regardless. He’s a v. good Championship player, and they’ll want him there if they don’t go up. They’ve got the cash, and AP doesn’t much like him here. I can only see him leaving. Plus, Warnock has waxed lyrical about him on several occasions this season.

We’re just kidding Ed 🙂 Love you blog – being stuck in Bath for the next few years, the only Newcastle news I’d get otherwise would be from the dodgey misquotes in the press 🙂

Carroll will end up like Paul John Gascoigne all the warning signs are plain to see, just give him time to settle down in the north west, then well start getting him on the news.
