Forget About Jose Enrique – He’s On His Way

The Sunday Sun is reporting today that it is their understanding that Newcastle have already given up the ghost on trying to keep Jose Enrique at the club.

Jose Enrique – on his way in the summer

Newcastle’s main priorities in the summer are said to be a striker, a left-back and a central midfielder.

That explains why recently Newcastle were linked with 22 year-old Toulouse and French U21 International left-back Cheikh M’Bengue a couple of weeks ago and an initial bid of £5M, which was turned down.

The Newcastle scouts are said to be out in force in Germany this weekend, as they continue to check out targets there – wonder who those would be?

Lille’s Gervinhio, who scored the first two goals in Lille’s 5-0 hammering of Arles last night, is said to be a target, but whether Newcastle can persuade the 23 year-old Ivory Coast International to come to Tyneside is a good question, as some big clubs will be after the player.

We watched Leeds 1-0 win over Burnley yesterday, and Ivory Coast winger Max Gradel looked an exciting player, and he’s already been linked with Newcastle since January.

The Sunday Sun is also reporting that a number of senior players at Newcastle will be unloaded in the summer, and apparently they already know who they are.

Sol Campbell and Shefki Kuqi will be two of them, and maybe Alan Smith, Wayne Routledge  and James Perch also, but Newcastle need a bigger squad next season to combat all of the injuries they will pick up over the season.

But it looks like any chance of keeping Jose Enrique on Tyneside may have already gone, if the Sunday Sun report today is on the mark.

We now have to hope the club can get as much a possible for him, and that the fee received is immediately reinvested in the squad – this summer!

Seems to be a few links with ivory coast players. I like the idea because I think Tiote will attract them to the club with how well he has settled, and he could help them settle. But with the african cup of nations, we would loose our key players to the tournament :/

If Jose goes as predicted, would like a new French attacking left side with the full back from Toulouse and the return of the Zog !
The French are a strange bunch but ever since Ginola days I’ve got a soft spot for French left wingers, Robert did a decent job and Zog was brilliant on his day and has improved at CCC bound Wigan!

a central midfielder… excuse me tiote barton nolan and backup guthrie. 2 STRIKERS, A RIGHT WINGER AND A LEFT BACK clueless clueless people running OUR club. honestly, if we the people who pay to watch games like todays shite, can see what needs changed surely the twats that run the club can see. starting to lose patience with them now. sick and tired. same old same old…

i would rather have a thinner squad with better players to start with.

Then when comes to Jan’s we will further strengthen with another few targets.

If Jose Enrique stays, i would love to see him playing on the right. Cuttting in.

To me when i see Simpson is not good enough. But he can be use as a backup.

Shane Ferguson on as left back.
    Jose Enrique on the right

You dont have a clue, Enrique if he decided to stay (which he wont as three years on Tyneside is enough for the average european) is either RB or RW, preferably RB.
Now as far as Ferguson is concerned He should be played as a LW, his original spot, unfortunately his matador defense leaves a lot to be desired so LB is only a case of extremis.
    Got it !

Shit with your crazy shifts you got me confused , that was supposed to be Enrique either playing LW or LB.
