It seems like the Evening Chronicle will be revealing Kevin Nolan wearing Newcastle’s new Puma strip for next season.
Kevin Nolan – wearing Newcastle’s new strip
And it’s a lot different from the one Newcastle have this season.
This is the new strip we revealed a few weeks ago, and it seems to be the same, from what we can tell.
Thanks to one of our readers for giving us the heads up on this.
Kevin again – he must have just scored
Here’s the new goalkeeper kit worn by Steve Harper:
Although we haven’t seen the shorts or socks yet, it’s still a good time to run a poll – please tell us if you like the strip:

Comment #3it could maybe do with a couple more white stripes, but i like it, simple and smart. and at least it doesnt have the horrendous plastic front this time.

Comment #4I think it looks horrible. Worse than the last one. Can we not just go back to black and white stripes and stop f*cking about with what should be the smartest kit in the league?

Comment #11Davies and wynsleap, what do you want from a football strip? A nice vesace number with gold sequins and maybe a matching tiara for the goalie? Saying its cheap and nasty from ONEr photo is a bit premature isn’t it?

Comment #14I think cheap & nasty quality – no stitched badge.
Hopefully the Northern Rock isn’t iron-on, it looks as if it is printed.
The stylised version on the dummy looks better than the real shirt on Nolan.
Probably the shirt that maximised retail profits.
Lowest possible quality they could get away with.
The cheapest neckline, straight side-seams, no trimmings whatsoever, easy to make.
Nowhere near the quality of shirt Adidas used to make.

Comment #18On it’s own it looks OK, however seeing it on Kev it looks horrible. It looks like something you’d pick up on the Costa Del Sol from a Lookie Lookie man.
Also not to sound like Gok Wan but it makes Kev look like a fat porker!!

Comment #23I think it is the worst strip we have had since 2008/09 with the floppy collar! The last two seasons we have had good kits and that’s because they had more white in them, this is horrible!

Comment #28I agree with toon1986 and southerngeordie, not the most flattering of strips for Kevin.
Vertical stripes never a good idea for the more portly ;o)

Comment #29Yawn. I’m sure this was all said about last years strip. I guess geordies are now no longer satisfied unless they can moan about something. Honestly, there’s only so much you can do with black and white stripes, and I think this makes a nice change. As for the quality, everyone moaning about that must be expert fashionistas to be able to tell from one photo

Comment #30http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Newcastle_United/Newcastle_United.htm
Similar to the 2001-2003 kit
BUT EITHER WAY WE COULD BE WEARING PINK FOR ALL I CARE AS LONG AS WE SING SOME DECENT PLAYERS, PLAY WELL AND GET SOME TROPHIES INTO ST JAMES PARK ..

can we go back to the grandad style shirt we had when Keegan was boss first time around. Along with Barcelona’s kit for the away strip in a similar style.

Sorry to do a Gok on you but, vertical stripes flatter the more portly, horizontal stripes should be avoided.
Also tucking your shirt in, is never a good idea for fans.
Off to put my “feminine” side back in the closet … 😉
Markaccus

Comment #35Just a technical note :- horizontal stipes are usually known as hoops, as they often go right around the strip. I borrowed geoff777s feminine side for a bit there!
