Jamie O’Hara has long been a transfer target for Newcastle United.
Jamie O’Hara in action against Newcastle
And in today’s Sunday Sun, there is a short report that Alan Pardew is interested in bringing the Spurs player to Newcastle in the summer.
Jamie has been in great form for Wolves this year, since he’s been on loan from Spurs, but today he seems to have surprisingly pledged his future to the Wolves club.
The 24 year-old has said that Wolverhampton is perfect for his ten-month-old son Archie and his fiance Danielle Lloyd:
“We’re really settled here at the moment and we’re actually looking for a house to put down some roots,” “I’m really enjoying my football and Danielle loves it here too which is another reason why I’d love to stay here.”
“She’s become great friends with some of the players’ wives and we’re going on holiday together to Portugal with a few of the boys and their families.” “We’ve become really close with people here and we really enjoy it.”
“She’ll go where I go because we’re a family now and we stick together and we’re going to have another baby in September so I think it’s time we settled down somewhere and stopped moving around.” “We want somewhere we can have as our family home.”
“We’ve found some lovely places in Sutton Coldfield, but it would be silly to go and buy somewhere now and then the chairman turns round and says ‘it’s not going to happen, go back to Tottenham’.”
“But we’ve got plans in place if it happens so we’ll have to wait and see.” “If the club stays up it’s going to be a big summer for me because I will put down some roots and get some things organized.”
Even if Wolves get relegated, O’Hara is still hoping for a permanent deal in the Midlands, but he says quite rightly that would be up to the club’s owners to decide.
Of course all that thinking may change rather quickly, if Jamie gets a chance to play in front of 50,000 fans at St. James’ Park, so we’ll take it all with a pinch of salt.
Jamie is a good player and a good lad, and he seems to have an excellent attitude and outlook on the game.
He would fit very nicely into the Newcastle squad.
