Leon Best Could Return Against West Brom

Newcastle have had so many injuries this year that we’ve almost lost count.

Leon Best – can score goals in England’s top league

And most of the players are out for the rest of the season, and they include Smith, Ben Arfa, Gosling, Guthrie, Ireland, Williamson, Campbell and Perch.

But there’s some good news today on Leon Best, who had to have an ankle operation in early April, after he had looked so good in getting 6 league goals in just 11 appearances for Newcastle.

The news today is that he has a shot at playing in the final game of the season at home to WBA, which is two weeks today.

Alan Pardew talked about the situation of Leon Best today:

“Leon Best has a chance for West Brom, we think.” “We need injured players to come back if possible.” “You do not want them to go through the summer injured.”

Leon has showed that he is made of sterner stuff, and came in from the cold in early January, and scored a wonderful hat-trick in the 5-0 demolition of West Ham.

But Leon kept up his goal scoring, and became Newcastle’s most reliable scorer after big Andy left Toon, and he showed he can score goals in the English Premier League.

To be honest, we had almost given up hope on Leon, who was signed from Coventry 15 months ago, but he’s come back this year and shown he can have a good career on Tyneside, and all credit to him for doing that. He’s improved his game this year, under the coaching of Alan Pardew and the rest of Newcastle’s  coaching staff.

Leon just needs a little luck to keep fit, but he played so well for Newcastle this year and helped ensure Newcastle stayed in England’s top league once Andy left. For the record he’s appeared 24 times for Newcastle with 6 goals, all scored in the Premier League.

This is good news about Leon, and maybe he can come on and score against WBA, because if Newcastle can pick up a win against WBA, the team has a great chance of being in the top 10 at the end of the season.

The WBA game will be a huge game for Newcastle, but we are expecting nothing from the Stamford Bridge game next Sunday.

Howay The Lads!!

Few of the tabloids have said that PoolieToon, not sure if it’s speculation or not? As far as I’m concerned though Dirty Harry can kiss my hairy swingers.

Andy, presume you mean boumsong, but you could also add in there guivarch, goma, Dumas, Lionel perez, I quite liked domi but he didn’t stay around very long, for all the good French players we’ve had, we’ve also had just as bad.

We should play as many youngsters as possible now that we are safe.

Give starts to Vuckic, Ranger and Fergurson.

    Let our senior players rest.

If now is not the time to give our youngsters experience in the PL, when is ?!

Why are we so reluctant to try our young guns!

Michael Chopra hardly got a chance to shine for us. David Edgar too.

Give our young lads a chance!

i was thinking that Bendtner will be a good signing for us, but looking at the Stoke-Arsenal game he didnt do much.

He look average even with midfield supply of Nasri,Fabregas and WIlkshere

Look, they just are always dangling a body in front of us to keep us hoping that there will be some quality on the field and they will sell a few more tickets. Best will have a “little setback” the Thursday prior to West Brom. Book it.

i hope we get besty back for that last home game. its gonna be interesting to see who we sign upfront in the summer because if we actually get a good striker (which i doubt will happen ) then big leon may not see much 1st team football next season.
