Most Newcastle fans are waiting to see just exactly what class of player Newcastle can attract in the summer.
Alan Pardew – players that will excite the fans
Newcastle will not be short of money, as they’ve got £35M from the Carroll sale to pay for the transfer fees and wages of players coming to the north east.
In addition to that, it’s also likely the club will get a sizable transfer fee for Jose Enrique, who seems to want to move on this summer, with Liverpool looking to be the most likely destination, although you never know.
And Newcastle have been linked with stacks of players so far this year, but the better ones, like Ivory Coast winger Gervinho and French striker Kevin Gameiro, are unlikely to end up on Tyneside.
Alan Pardew seems to have learned very quickly what Newcastle fans want, and it seems he wants to bring in players who will excite the Geordie faithful:
“We need to bring players in Newcastle fans love that can get you out of your seat,”
“We need one or two of them on top of what we’ve got and then we can go forward and be really competitive.”
The Newcastle side, to their credit, have kept the Magpies out of relegation trouble all season long, and Newcastle fans have generally seen their side show spirit and pride in nearly all of their games.
That’s something we didn’t see too much of from the star laden Newcastle side of two years ago, which ended up relegated, despite the huge wages the club were paying to the playing staff.
One performance in particular this season – the magnificent and gutsy come-back from 4-0 down after 26 minutes against Arsenal – when our boys scored four goals in the last 26 minutes or so of that game, will be remembered down the ages as the greatest ever comeback in the Premier League. What a performance that was – absolutely unbelievable in every way.
And Alan has told anybody who will listen these last few weeks, that Newcastle will not be resting on their laurels for their final two matches of the season:
“Making sure we don’t coast for the rest of the season is something I’ve got to focus on,”
“We have a professional respect that we handle ourselves very well in these remaining games.” “The players have been absolutely brilliant and we want to finish in the top 10.”
“We want to finish the season right. For us it’s about finishing strongly and making a point.”
We’d be delighted if the lads can pick up 3 points from their last two games at Stamford Bridge and at home to West Bromwich Albion.
A 47 points total would be an excellent return in the first season back in the big time.

Comment #101CT – Andrea Pirlo and Mexes!! Really!?! I would go for them in a second! Quality players that will no doubt improve our team. How old are they though I think Pirlo is 30.

Comment #103I think Ashley would only sell to people with money. How else would he get his loan back? So if we are sold the club will be in safe hands

Comment #104Tim, under fat ash we have everything but stability.
I agree Andy, he’ll sell us to someone with money so he can recoup his loans.
Ash is set to make a nice tidy profit from us.
Guys if he does leave will he be entitled to take the 35 million smackeroos with him? Or will he be able to take it but it’ll be used to pay back his loan?

Kaz LUA LUA. Amazing player now i see why wayne routledge is gone and hopefully this guy is going to get a lot more games next year and since he has returned to full training hopefully and i hope he can play against Chelski and west brom. We will really need some creativity against chelski and he can make nothing into something and i really really miss seeing an african player doing flips after scoring for NUFC…

Comment #107TimToon9 – Bad time to be selling the club as it will drag on and on and no doubt all the players will be thinking of leaving as all their futures will be in the balance again. WE NEED SIGNINGS!!!! AND QUICKLY!!
If we’re sold now we will be left with the excuse we had to put up with in January – ‘we just didn’t have enough time to sign anybody’.
If that happens again especially now with such a small squad we will be relegated as simple as that.
As much as I would like a change of management it should be next season after we have already improved the squad.
On the other hand if the club is sold to an ambitious owner very quickly we could have time to invest and we will hopefully be in much better hands.

Comment #109If its true then it will to a very rich person lets be honest. I do share your concerns TimToon9 but if its true I am going to be optomistic that the new owner would be savy in business and not destroy our fine club
Also if true I say well done to that lad who did all the research and told us on here awhile ago.

Comment #110i will only be happy if the following happens
1 – we become debt free
2- the club is paid for up front and not with money borrowed like man utd
3 – we keep pardew we need stability n can not keep changing managers and hopefully this deals has been goin a while n pardew is there man
4 – we stick to ashlys plan of buying players under 26
5 – we hav money to spend n is not on the club as debt

Comment #112@cheichtiote Doesn’t really matter, the debt will either all be paid by the owner or some from the carroll sale and the rest from the owner.. Either way, we get the x amount of money. And what i meant was, we have financial stability. And i feel we also could achive an allround-stability with Ashley now, he have hopefully learned from his mistakes!

Comment #115Trust me. the only reason mike ashley would sell NUFC is to keep the 35 million and take off. There have been hints here and there that we are going to be sold , like the HUGE 10 year season tickets, when do you see those? Maybe the new owner is telling Mike ashley to do these things before i take over… U never will know what is going to happen next .. this is why….
its Newcastle.. 😀

Comment #116If the club is being sold for 250M and the club has 100m outstanding loans then it is likely that the owner has a pile of cash floating around. Anyway, most new owners like to make a good impression on the fans by buying top players when they first arrive, I can see this happening. And unlike January, summer has a very long transfer period and I doubt a takeover will take all summer till the end of the transfer window so at the beginning of next season for a takeover to be complete; especially as apparently the takeover is in motion now.

Comment #119But if we do get a new owner , who would you want as manager? I would want pardew to continue, for stability. But if an ambitious owner comes in, i really hope we could get Keegan back! 😀 Would be crap-tastic! Also feel he has a eye for talent, he wanted to buy schweinsteiger for 4 mill, but ashley didn’t feel he was worth it!
