Let’s Hope Chris Hughton Gets West Ham Job

We are really hoping that Chris Hughton gets the West Ham manager job, becasue we are sure he could do a good job for them in the Championship next season.

Chris Hughton – did magnificent job for Newcastle

Chris had an excellent record at Newcastle,  and of course got the Magpies a fabulous 102 points to win the Championship last season,  and in his first 16 Premier League games this season, he had 19 points and Newcastle were in 11th position.

Of course he was then surprisingly fired, and only Mike Ashley and Derek LLambias know exactly why that happened, and then new manager Alan Pardew came in, and he’s also done a good job.

Newcastle are currently in 12th place in the Premier League, with a good chance to finish in the top 10  with a win against West Brom on Sunday.

We’ve looked at the two league records of our two managers this season,  and here they are with the total league record of Newcastle on the last line.

                P W D L GF GA GD Pts

Chris Hughton 16 5 4 7 24 25 -1 19
Alan Pardew 21 6 8 7 29 29 0 26

Total record 37 11 12 14 53 54 -1 45

Chris Hughton would have ended up with 45 points, with his record over a full season of 38 games, and Alan Pardew would have ended up with 47 points, with his record over the full season.

So it’s really surprising how similar the two league records are, but in truth both managers have done very well, and Alan Pardew needs to be complimented because of the way in which he has kept the good work started by Chris Hughton,  going through the season.

The former West Ham manager was very bright in not upsetting the band wagon, when he came in last December,  with most Newcastle fans shocked and angry at the Chris Hughton firing.

But as the saying goes –  all’s well that ends well –  and let’s hope Chris Hughton gets the West Ham manger job – he’s currently the bookies favorite after Steve McClaren and Neil Warnock both pulled out of the running.

Steve said he didn’t want the job, and Warnock said he’s not going to be fired by QPR, and fully expects to still be manager next season at QPR.

Newcastle fans will agree that Chris Hughton deserves another shot at managing a good club, and West Ham are certainly a good club, and their excellent fans deserve a lot better than what they were served up this season by the owners, the manager and the players.

Chris can definitely deliver the goods at West Ham, there’s no doubt about that.

    First!
To be fair I would rather ‘Hewts’ didnt go there. They’d have a decent chance of coming back up if that’s the case and i would love to see them suffer in the Championship for a good few years, damn cockneys!
give the job to Col Corduroy Titspervert.

i woudlnt like to see houghton get the hammers job think its a disaster waiting to happen.
houghton had a qaulity sqaud to work with here and players like smith, butt, nolan n barton that helped create the great team spirit thats here.
west ham are gonna be ripped apart n they will hav no good players am sorri but it will make hoots look very poor n them to numptys that run the place r worse than ashly

rather chris didnt go to west ham seen as though he wud probs get them up the following season and barton would probs want to join up with him maybe a few other…u cant really day tht chris wud have got 45 points as pardew has gotten points without carroll whereas he was the focus of hughtons side

the only real problem i had with him was that he never once made a sub that changed the game for us and tended not to make them till the 80th minute and if it was up to him best wud never have started a game

This SHOULD be a great job at a good club – but the idiots who run WHU make Ashley seem like Mary Poppins. Chris deserves a fine club and I think he should demand big, big money with a good pay-off clause in case they get out of bed on the wrong side one day and sack him like our clowns did. He’d be better off at Barnsley.

He’s used to dealing with idiot owners … it depends on how long he can wait before taking a job …

Ashley ran his contract down so it only had weeks to go … so little compensation if anything …

Good luck to him, but he deserves better than Gold, Sullivan & Brady.

C`mon guys enough with the nagativity.
Ideal fit, Chris is an east end lad, who probably has a soft spot for the Hammers and I cant think of a better candidate.
He did an excellent job with a thouroughly despondent side a team in chaos and brought them back to the top tier without losing once at home.
Now if thats not impressive i dont know what is,
and did it without costing the club one thin dime.

Best of luck to Chris – a real gent and one of the few bright spots at The Toon in the last 3-4 years.
He deserves a shot at another top job but I hope he has learned some lessons whilst working for our shower and protects his own welfare a lot more than he did here.
If he got the Hammers post and had another fabulous and successful Championship season like the one he gave us, his stock would raise so high he’d be able to name his price for future employment at relegated Premiership teams!

i like houghton for what he done here, but was an easy task when u look back the players we had the way we did it was easy in the end, the hammers job is gonna be much tougher and i think they will really struggle to make the play offs lets not forget its more than likely there gonna have to build a brand new team from scratch as most players will leave, we kept most of our team the only good thing is we could loan some of the youngins to them to help him out

ahh chers davybtoon hope so i think him and a top striker would be enough next year as he can play up top aswel, just a back up left back and a centre half and were good to go imo.

currently Pardew has one of the worst records in our history, but I expect him to greatly improve on it next season.

agree with (daveybtoon). i always knew that newcastle would get back up 1st time. infect i bet my friend £100 that we’d win the league, and that was before we kicked a ball. i knew because we kept ur best players, the likes of barton, nolan, smith, collo and jose who most of yous didn’t rate at that time. well i did and i told this same friend many times before we got relegated, that he was top 3 best LB in the prem, i knew with these players we were always going to walk out of championship. aye i do respect hughton for what he did but when it came to making desision on the pitch he wasn’t great, he always started with nolan and carrol up front, which only works 1 out of 10 game, but when it didn’t work he used to then bring on ameobi, ranger or lovenkands in the 70-80 minutes and then we’d end up stuffing the other team. some people might think thats good desisions but not me i think he should have started the game with ameobi or ranger up front with carrol, and put nolan in that useless butt position. i think the same as freddy shepherd he’s a assistant manger nothing more.

Comparing CH with AP in the Premier is unfair to AP. CH had Carroll, Barton and Tiote playing in nearly every game. AP had Carroll for two games and combined lost Barton and Tiote for about 10 matches. For AP to have a chance of finishing in the top half is a tremendous achievement.

AP is the better manager. We have been more professional, organised and he has improved our awful home record under CH.

Chrissie deserves a chance. We liked him.
Nice guys finish last they say. Well, for a nice guy, Chris did better than last.
Problem is the couldn’t care less attitude of so many West Ham players.
If he does get it (and I doubt it very much) he needs to clear out many, and bring in some of the better kids, and get some promising loan kids in (Ranger….PLEASE ?)
