Great News – N’Zogbia Keen To Return To Newcastle

The Evening Chronicle is reporting today that they understood that Charles N’Zogbia is keen on making a return to Newcastle United this summer.

Charles N’Zogbia – wants to return to Newcastle

Only this morning we reported there were at least five top Premier League clubs after the player, and we knew he seemed keen to return to Newcastle,  when the club made a last minute bid to get him back to Newcastle in the January transfer window.

That was after the club sold Andy Carroll to Liverpool, who seems to be struggling for fitness and form at Liverpool at the moment, and it looks like he doesn’t want to play for the England U21s in the European Championships this summer.

He was just fine while he was at Newcastle.

The Chronicle is also reporting that Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is a big admirer of the French winger, and is keen to bring him back to Newcastle, where he spent four and half years and arrived from Le Havre in the summer of 2004, when he was just 18 years old.

N’Zogbia has been in terrific form for relegation-threatened Wigan when it rally matters – over the last few weeks –  but the 24-year-old is certain to move on this summer.

It was unfortunate circumstances when Charles left the club in January of 2009, then Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear forgetting his name and calling him I’nsomnia – close but no cigar Joe.

Apparently Charles has been coming back to Newcastle often since leaving the club, and it’s being reported he has regretted leaving Newcastle  with their magnificent fans and 52,000 home gates.

That would have been clear when he started playing in front of  16,000 crowds at Wigan, where Rugby League is the top sport.

A source close to the winger told the local paper today:

“Charles left Newcastle on the back of a row with Kinnear.” “He’s always regretted leaving the club, and if there was a chance to come back he would obviously be interested.”

“He’s got a big game with Wigan this weekend and then there will probably be a lot of talk about where Charles goes next.”

“But he is intrigued by the plans that Alan Pardew has in store for Newcastle next season.”

We have to hope that this news is true, because N’Zogbia is just the type of fast goal scoring winger Newcastle need in the squad.

It would be a terrific signing for Newcastle, and because he wants to come back, he’d be warmly welcomed back to St. James’ Park.

This could be good news for Newcastle.

Comments welcome.

What a team! If we get a good striker, we could really be a competitive team! Would love it!

I thought that coentrao had agreed to sign for Bayern. Not too sure but i read that somewhere. He’s been linked with the top clubs around Europe so I very much doubt we’d get him. Good news regarding N’Zogbia. Let’s be honest lads who did have the right attitude in that team? There was serious discontent throughout that squad, maybe that is what had the effect on N’Zogbia.

    Simpson, Coloccini, Saylor, Enrique
    N’Zogbia, Nolan, Ben Arfa

    – Personally, i think that would be a great side, Formation is a bit weird, yes but, but i think it could work (:

    hahaha coentrao?

you’ve unearthed a real diamond in the rough there! we’d only have to beat every european top club for his signature! he’s probably the most sought-after left back in the world.

i think it will be a good thing, we now have nolan and barton keeping the unity and spirit, which we didnt have when Zog was here last time and if he acts up theyll sort him out!

I would quite like to see N’Zogbia back in the Toon squad if Pardew is after bum off seats players then Zogbia and HBA are your guys just hope they dont clash, also would love to see Sturridge upfront, that would be a strike force, would also like to see scott Parker back hes in the from of his life at the moment and would be fairly cheap i would imagine but one problem were to put him?

Probably a higher standard than some of the players we’ve (supposedly) been looking at lately but not convinced that we couldn’t do better with the £10mill. or so it will take to get him.
Always thought he was a tad over rated and that he really played only when he was in the mood.
Also worried about the effect he could have on what seems to be an excellent dressing room.
Having said that would take him over Jason Puncheon, Max Gradel or Seb Larsson any day.

    Simmo Taylor Colo Enrique

    Barton Tiote

    Larsson HBA N’Zogbia

Bench: Harper, Willo, Ireland, Nolan, Jonas, Elmander

    Other Crucial Squad player:
Ferguson, PVA, Vukic, Lua Lua, Best, Kadar, Ranger, Smith, R Taylor, Gosling, Guthrie.

    Elmander – Free
    Larsson – Free
    PVA – £2m
    Ireland – £5m
    N’Zogbia – £9-11m
    Sturridge – £10 – 12m

    Highest Transfer Fee = £30m

Campbell – Free (save on wages)
    Lovo – £1-2m
    Ameobi – £2-3m
    Routledge – £3m
    James Perch – £1-2m

    Lowest Fees In = £7m

    Net spend = £23m

Still feel we need a better RB than Simpson, that is where i would say the weakness is but there is strength in depth. Maybe need CB/RB on top of those transfers but still plenty of the ‘£35m’ we are SUPPOSED to get! (keeping experienced heads like Smith because of Cup football).

JFK was a bit of a knobend, but that doesn’t really excuse the way N’Zogbia behaves everytime he thinks he’s being looked at by bigger teams. He was agitating for a move before Kinnear “disrespected” him. This was a weak excuse for demanding a transfer.

Hopefully there`s some truth in the statement he wants a return to Tyneside.
Even if he costs around ten million, after all we stole him from Le Havre and got six or so million from Wigan, in which case we get him back for four million.
He gets better by the game, i can just imagine a midfield with the likes of N`Zog, Ireland and HBA, talk about entertainment.
All we need is a couple of strikers, get Bassong back from Spurs and a couple of backup fullbacks and theres your team, top six !

Look you guys, forgedaboudit ! we are not getting Gervinho or Sturridge, O`K !
But there`s a chance we could keep Enrique, it will cost of course, but hey !
It`s the same old, same old, associated with big names, but when the chips are down, Ashley wont pay.
Either that or the players want european football, a BIG club.
There has to be something on offer to attract the right signings, money always works as does proof of ambition.
And until we show we (NUFC) are ambitious and are willing to pay decent wages, then it`s mid field mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

Superb player and would be a fantastic signing. If we keep Enrique our left side will cause havoc.

    Here are the players I hope we sign;
    Sturridge, Defoe or Gameiro ( £8m -1£0m )
    N’Zogbia ( £10m )
    Ireland ( £5m )
    Demba Ba ( £5m – £6m )
    Marveaux ( Free )
    Larsson ( Free )
    Williams ( Free )

Get him back in!!! On another topic I really think Taylor has shown he deserves the starting spot next to Collo. Their understanding together isn’t as strong but that will develop, going forward however Taylor is more of a threat than Williamson cause he attacks the ball offensively too.

    craigcoozy ;

Why on earth do you want Bellamy after all the things he’s done and said about our club? Also, he’s nearly 32 and has bad knees, when he loses his pace he will be a poor player because that’s his main asset.

Hangeland and Sturridge would be great signings.

i’d love to see us sign:

    paddy van aanholt

to be honest we don’t need any more. tavernier is our back up RB, ferguson is our back up LW and vuckic and lualua are our back up midfielders.

and also, i reckon by summer 2012, we’ll be in a position to get carroll back for 15mill coz he just isn’t doing it for them, injuries and pressure will see him press for a move back to the toon, altho i wouldn’t offer him a penny more than other top earners who’ve accepted 45k a week

Would love him back, just imagine Jonas – HBA – Zog playing behind a quality CF,amazing! With those 3 taking on defenders, switching positions and going for goal,we’ll be a very formidable and scary attacking unit next season.

PS: I have a feeling Leon Best could have a BIG season for us,especially with that kind of creativity behind him.

Would like N’Zog back but wonder if the likes of Villa or even Arsenal and Utd might come in for him. I think he’s more likely to go to a team certain to challenge for Europe next season. As much as I would like to think thats us I’m not convinced. Sturridge would be an amazing signing but so many clubs will be after him and I’m sure he’s on big wages at Chelsea as he was signed on a free.
