Newcastle And Sunderland In Race For French Winger

It’s small wonder there will be a number of top Premier League clubs after Charles N’Zogbia this summer.

Charles N’Zogbia – 5 top PL clubs already interested

Charles has been Wigan’s star all season, and the Frenchman scored twice for Wigan at St. James’ Park earlier this season.

And when push is coming to shove in the relegation battle,  the Frenchman is really producing for the Latics.

Charles scored two great goals on Sunday for Wigan against West Ham, including the injury time winner, and that win keeps Wigan in with a chance, a small chance, of surviving in the Premier League this season.

The reports suggest that Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle are all interested in the player, who will probably go for around £10M this summer – and probably to one of those clubs.

Newcastle have already tried to get him back to St James’ Park in January, after they had sold Andy Carroll to Liverpool.

And when he was signed by Wigan from the Magpies in January of  2009, current Sunderland manager Steve Bruce was manager there, and so he may have an advantage, although Sunderland have looked like a lead balloon this year, since Darren Bent left the club.

It’s hard to know if the fact he was at Newcatsle for four and a half years from the summer of 2004 is an advantage or a disadvantage, but reports in January suggested Charles was willing to return to Newcastle.

There’s little doubt that Alan Pardew will try to get the player back to Newcastle, and if he does come back it says something for the drawing power of Newcastle – but it will be tough with clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham also interested.

What do you think?

Gervinho, Ben Arfa N’Zogbia behind a quality striker would be amazing.

Then again maybe Lua Lua and Fergie could step up.

It’s interesting people slag off Taraabt as a circus act, in spite of all his goals, assists, superb stamina and hardly any bookings, yet everyone loved Gazza !

If Pardew really is looking for flair players, he would win me over. If it’s Bothroyd and Konchesky instead, then he must go.

Stinky attitude, but good player. A bit selfish for my liking. I would not complain if he chooses us again. I don’t think the scum are even considered by him as option, but you never know.

People still hoping praying Gervinho will come.

He’ll go for the most prestigious offer available. He had his head turned by interest from the likes of Arsenal before, but none of those teams came in for him when he started kicking up a stink, so he ended up at Wigan. Silly boy. There weren’t exactly tears when he left us last time, and I won’t be breaking out the bunting if we get him back. If he does come back, I sincerely hope Barton, Nolan and the other influential figures at the club keep him in check.

Would love Zog back at the club.

But fear the Mackems may have an upper hand with Brucie in charge.

Not sure about Taarbet, was interesting to hear his own team mate Derrys comments about him saying he is an undoubted talent but the team have carried him at times this season when hes gone missing, cant do that in PL. Woulsd prefer Zog PL proven.

Like I said the other day, I would take the player, as long as he leaves the chip on his shoulder in Wigan.

I’d have him back for decent cash; No more than £10M

However, would he fit in with our current squad mindset, and the togetherness?

    Only time would tell…

    Entertainers

That name is a bit inappropriate for you.

No way would QPR have got promoted without him. 16 assists, 17 goals.

Woud you rather have Smith no goals, no assists, Guthrie no goals , no assists etc, etc.

    Hey dont shoot the messenger!

His own club mate said it not me, but i guess your in a better postion to gudge?

As im sure even you know the CCC is a far far weaker league. History is littered with top CCC players who fail to make it in the PL, look at own Wayne Routledge who looks fantastic in that league, but struggles in the top flight.

The price thats being quoted for Taarbet is too big of a risk for me.

Oh and yes i like Smith and Guthrie, because they belong to the club i ‘support’. You know its actually fun being positive about the team you support, try it 😉

RH, interesting you should quote those stats for him, meanwhile, 1 season ago in the same division, Guthrie is credited with 12 assists and 5 goals. Food for thought?

Have to say like, I agree with The Entertainers.

For the price being touted its a massive risk, same goes for that Connor Whickham.

we dont need Taraabt anyways ben arfa is a much better player and they basically play the same role CAM but drift around, rather keep benny n sign a proper winger

One question, where would Zoggy play?!

Ben Arfa, Jonas, BarToon, Nolan, Tioté… Who are you going to drop?!

Nolan – Who’s got more goals than him from CM this season?!

BarToon – Tireles, most consistant performer this season for us.

Jonas – CLASS ACT. Great season, maybe needs a few more goals.

Tioté – No comment. 1st name on the teamsheet for me.

Ben Arfa – If he’s fit, he plays!

£10million to have him on the bench after being the big fish at a club and he has a bad attitude…?

Would love him back but we need to think about this no?

oh what a f*****g surprise Liverpool are interested in the same player were after again, do they not have their own scouting team or do they just like spying on us every time, would love to see N’Zogbia in a toon shirt again and would also love to get Sturridge in aswell can what a force if that came true, Zogbia, HBA, Collo, Barton, Tiote, Sturridge, Nolan. would be a fantastic team.

to the entertainers, I think Routledge just needed that season in the CCC to get some confidence and i think he would now do well in the PL, I think he just needed what Caroll did, 1 step back to make 2 steps forward.
