Have Newcastle Inceased Their Offer For Gameiro?

Lorient’s Kevin Gameiro would like to move to a Spanish club in the summer.

Kevin Gameiro – Newcastle have already bid for this player

The 24 year-old striker has looked a very good p[layer this season with 22 goals in 36 games for his club, and has been capped 3 times by France.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp and Sunderland boss Steve Bruce are also interested in the Frenchman, and Newcastle are said to have already made a £8M bid, but maybe Newcastle have already gone back in for the player and increased their offer to £12M?

There are reports today that Newcastle made a £12M offer, but the offer a few weeks was said to be around £8M, so there’s a chance. a small chance that Newcastle have increased their offer.

Gameiro is also getting the attention of  Spanish clubs Valencia, Villarreal and Sevilla and, according to the Daily Mail, and there’s a report today that says Kevin will still consider Newcastle, even though he would prefer  a move to Spain.

But in that report there’s no evidence at all of him considering Newcastle, so we’re not sure what to make of it, other than it’s another rumor.

However the reports some weeks ago were that Newcastle had already made an offer of around £8M, and Pardew confirmed the club had indeed made several offers for a number of their transfer targets.

It doesn’t look like there’s too much chance of getting the former Strasbourg striker to Tyneside, although he would be a terrific signing for the club.

We’re still  hoping.

People cling to rumours far too much. For all we know, he’s desperate to come but we don’t want him. Face it nobody knows

Great player. He’s still unproven though, one season wonders we have seen before…

At 8m I’m positive, anything above 10 I would say is risky business. Gamerio and a tall, strong striker would be mint, slap in a 5m offer for Demba Ba or try a cheeky free offer for John Carew

21 League goals this year, 17 last year, 11 year before… Not quite a one season wonder.

If it’s true, 12m is a significant bid for a player with 1 year left on his contract

Not quite, I still feel he’s rather unproven, the French league is not that great to be honest.

I’m really looking forward to this transfer summer. Hopefully we’ll not be kept waiting till deadline day like the last few summers. Now we have funds, wise spending please!

French League not that great you say,,,,it is THE best league for talent worldwide.

ANelka,Adebayor,Malouda,Drogba,Evra,N’Zogbia,Bassong,Essien,,,those are just some of the current players(wont even go into the former ones)

French league have produced more talents than Epl by miles away, and they can play in every possible league in a very successful manner!

Don’t get me started with Seria A and La Liga

we must do what liverpool did and use the money for the star striker and get 2 players in his place. £20m would get Ba and Gameiro.

    Imagine:

    ——————Krul

    Simpson– Saylor —-Colo— Jose/replacement

    Jonas —–Barton—-Tiote—-Ben Arfa

    ————-Ba———Ganeiro

    Top 6 material.

i always laugh when people say the french league isnt great… cos people who say it either dont watch it or watch and dont know what they are talking about look at the amount of talent that comes out of that league some of the greatest players to play the game have come from there the only difference is their teams dont spend loads of money like the pl teams they scout it

it really annoys me that people argue that the french league is great because it obvously isnt.

yes they have made a lot of talent, but how many of those players acually play in the french league. NONE!!!

The reason all the top french talents dont play in the french league is because they wan to play in a better league like the Prem, La Liga or Serie A.

If newcastle was in the french league we would probably come top 7 but in the english, spanish and italian league we wouldnt come in the top 10

Hopefully we don’t shoot ourselves in the foot and underbid on all our targets (like previous transfer windows). Never seen the guy play just have a bad feeling about French Strikers though (Guivarch).

An interesting player and one I would only like to see with a target man next to him, having said that would prefer Sturridge for a few million cheaper ( hopefully)

Sturridge wont be cheap and would probably rather go to Bolton then Newcastle. You gotta remember we were in the championship last season, and most teams that stay in the prem their first season usually find it harder the next.

Birmingham came 8th last season and now look like they are going down.

I dont think Chamakh or Sturridge are realsitic targets. Why would Chamakh go from Arsenal to Newcastle and why would Sturrige go from Chelsea to Newcastle. he has already said he wants to stay and fight for his place.

Sturridge has indicated he’s ready to move on from Chelsea if he doesn’t get the games.

I don’t think you have to sell Newcastle above Bolton !!!!! Am I talking to a Toon fan ? Haha.

No brainer, we still offer good wages, quality stadium and fantastic support! Ask Nolan if he regrets leaving the Trotters.

and stop thinking about bring Demba Ba here. He is average player. We need to spend money on a striker who is as good or better than Carroll

We got Ameobi who is BETTER than Carroll

He is so good that no matter what he did at the pitch, he will still got first team football

He is so good that both Nigeria and England are “fighting” for him to play at senior level

My opinion this week has been changed. I was very negative about our ambitions previously but Ashley has now told pards that he wants Europe & a cup to be our top priorities. The man is not stupid- he knows he will have to bankroll an adventure like that. I believe we will get significant funding this summer, even possibly above carrolls transfer fee.

Why would Ashley suddenly change his mind and break his habit of minimum investment and outright profit in the window? I can only think of two things, firstly the selection of inspiring performances we’ve dished out this term- even cynics would have to agree that we punched above our weight several times this term. Secondly, I would have to point to the fans who have turned up week in week out to support the lads- let’s not forget that woeful performances that have punctuated the good ones all season. This has not deterred one of the best away contingents from signing up to buy tickets, nor has it stopped 50,000 fans from getting rained on while watching their team crash to Blackpool.

In short- these sorts of things conspire to make you dream, and to see the potential of a club like Newcastle. My eyes are on the summer now, I’m very optimistic we will have a team worthy of much better things come August.

Gameiro seems a top class player and improving. I would love to see him in a black and white shirt in the summer. I think offer within £10-13million would be a brilliant buy. Each time I hear of him I feel better about signing him. I am pleased with Pardew’s interest in players because they are very, very good players, and young! I am so looking forward to the summer. I can gurantee that if Nolan and Barton sign on, we get the two ‘mystery’ internation midfielders including Gameiro and Gervinho, Jose will also sign on. I am confident that we will have a good summer. Howay the lads.
