Newcastle captain Kevin Nolan believes that owner Mike Ashley is slowly but surely getting a good grip on things at Newcastle, and even starting to understand the club.
Mike Ashley – has done fantastically well
Kevin Nolan says that Ashley has taken enough criticism as owner of Newcastle, but what he sees is good:
“Mike took a lot of stick for what he’s done over the last two years, but he’s been fantastic.”“He’s got a manager he firmly believes in, who he wants to back and hopefully now that will the case in the summer.” “Hopefully it’s going to be the springboard to bring in the right players to push us forward.”
“We want players who want to come and prove themselves here – not players just coming for the money or to boost their own reputation.” “They need to be coming in here to get us back to where we belong.”
“From day one their work ethic has to be spot on. If you come in and do that you won’t go far wrong.” “The most important thing is bringing in the right people, people who understand the club and understand what it takes to play for this club.”
“In three years time we want to be up with the top clubs.” “We’ve got the wheels in motion now and hopefully I’ll be around to be part of it.”
There certainly seems to be a good camaraderie with the players, and that also extends to the manager Alan Pardew, who has simply kept the momentum going that former manager Chris Hughton had started.
But does that camaraderie also extend to the owner?
Seems like it may be doing just that – well would you believe it?
With the great news this morning that Newcastle have potentially a couple of signings already in the bag, and now with Kevin saying Mike has done fantastically well – there’s only so much good news we can take all at once about the club, 😀
