Kevin Nolan – Mike Ashley Has Been Fantastic

Newcastle captain Kevin Nolan believes that owner Mike Ashley is slowly but surely getting a good grip on things at Newcastle, and even starting to understand the club.

Mike Ashley – has done fantastically well

Kevin Nolan says that Ashley has taken enough criticism as owner of Newcastle, but what he sees is good:

“Mike took a lot of stick for what he’s done over the last two years, but he’s been fantastic.”“He’s got a manager he firmly believes in, who he wants to back and hopefully now that will the case in the summer.” “Hopefully it’s going to be the springboard to bring in the right players to push us forward.”

“We want players who want to come and prove themselves here – not players just coming for the money or to boost their own reputation.” “They need to be coming in here to get us back to where we belong.”

“From day one their work ethic has to be spot on. If you come in and do that you won’t go far wrong.” “The most important thing is bringing in the right people, people who understand the club and understand what it takes to play for this club.”

“In three years time we want to be up with the top clubs.” “We’ve got the wheels in motion now and hopefully I’ll be around to be part of it.”

There certainly seems to be a good camaraderie with the players, and that also extends to  the manager Alan Pardew, who has simply kept the momentum going that former manager Chris Hughton had started.

But does that camaraderie also extend to the owner?

Seems like it may be doing just that – well would you believe it?

With the great news this morning that Newcastle have potentially a couple of signings already in the bag, and now with Kevin saying Mike has done fantastically well – there’s only so much good news we can take all at once about the club, 😀

Comments welcome.

He’s brought the club into stability and laid down a good foundation for the future. That’s all I could ask for.

Also, Heard news that we might be getting 45 million to spend in the transfer market thanks to Ashley, So he must be doing something right.

Hi fellers, from the only Newcastle-supporting SriLankan you will ever meet!
All this news about transfers and international midfielders coming in is great! And with good signings, whether it’s shrewd dealings or splashing the cash, comes success. It would be amazing to win a trophy, push for Europe, and be up there with the best. But my hope is that no matter what happens, the Fans (Us) always remember what a roller coaster ride we’ve had over the years and how painful and jubilant it is to be a NUFC supporter! I am only saying this because from my time in Asia, everyone I’ve met supports ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal, LFC. They’re used to success and being at the top, and as a result, have no understanding of what real love for a club is. I would hate to see Newcastle fans become like them! So tell your kids about this season and last season. Tell them what it mean to be a real football fan! Lest we forget!
    Have a great summer everyone!

The whole bloody capitalist system is based on debt….it is just a question of how you manage that….you live in Germany, they know a thing or two about debt management and haven’t faired too badly by investing in and improving upon their productive infrastructure….a damned sight better than this country!
I would die a happy man to have seen NUFC win a meaningful title…

SL there’s absolutely no danger of any of us forgetting the shlte that we’ve had to put up with during the past years 🙁

Commiserations to all Level 7 members today, lets hope the Fatman gets an offer he cant refuse before next season so we can still have a singing section !

As I keep saying – Ashley is a very savvy, street wise, top business operator who has learnt quickly from his mistakes.

He has also shown real bravery – appointing Hughton when the fans were screaming for Shearer and sacking fan and players favourite Hughton to bring in a manager he had faith and confidence in. Those were not decisions by a FGCB hell bent on wrecking our club (as the neggers keep saying) but the exact opposite. MA has a plan to make this club successful, to win a trophy, get into Europe and do all of that whilst remaining fire proof against financial disaster. He won’t talk to the fans because he knows most won’t listen – so he will do it by action not words.

I’ve also read today that Ashley will give a bonus of £500K to be spread among the clubs’s backroom staff if we win today as a thank you for their unsung work and contribution. What a great gesture – can you imagine the excitement among those guys at todays match!

I am absolutely convinced that Ashley is a man on a mission at NUFC. He will back Pardew in this summer’s transfer market, he wants a successful and exciting team but he won’t be held to ransom by any club or player.

I keep saying it – we have one of the best if not THE best owners in the Prem.

Solano – I’don’t need to go easy.

Anyone with half a business brain can see that Ashley has a plan. And part of that plan is telling his scouting staff to find top players abroad for a fraction of what they cost here. There ARE more Tiote’s about – plenty of them. I can’t wait to see who we sign.

The neggers who said we would sell our top players this summer and spend peanuts are going to be proven absolutely wrong.

HWTL and lets stuff WBA today and condemn the mackems to where they belong – also rans to the Toon.

Sweendog – he might have got us relegated (the money grabbing mercenary players did that IMO) but if he got us relegated he got us promotion as well. You can’t have it both ways son.

If we win today we finish in the top 10 and if we don’t we are in the Prem next year with a decent squad already and more to come + we are financially stable not near bankruptcy like when he came.

Nightmare? Wake up bonny lad – its just a bad dream. Try cocoa instead of Stella as a nightcap.

In late December on this forum I predicted that in the January window the club would sell Andy Carroll and sign nobody and I got lambasted from all quarters for it. Funnily enough come midnight on 31st January I wasn’t “proven absolutely wrong” was I? The same thing will happen again this summer, just wait and see.

Why? Ashley has NEVER before spent big money in his time at the club, all he has ever done is generate big money by selling our best players. Incidentally, isn’t he supposed to be a Spurs fan?

    ToonDownSouth

Yes 100%, if Pardew gets even £10 million to spend in the summer I will come back here and eat huge ammounts of humble pie.

I’ve come to the conclusion that you’re just a wind up merchant trying to start arguments. No Newcastle fan could genuinely feel the way you claim to about Ashley.

I’ve been saying since January that Ashley would splash the cash in the summer and negging, bitter, hate blinded losers like you two have been saying the FGCB would flog the jewels and wallow in gthe dosh.

You are about to be proved wrong, dead fn wrong.

Go and support the Mackems – they need fans like you two.
