It looks like a player from Europe will be unveiled at Newcastle in the next few days, but who he is, we have no idea.
Jeremy Menez – Newcastle interested in French International
One player it could possibly be is Roma’s Jeremy Menez, the 24 year-old gifted French International, who is currently at Roma.
Menez has recently clashed with caretaker manager Vincenzo Montella at Roma, who took over from the sacked Claudio Ranieri, and the word is Menez would like to leave the Italian club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Menez can play on the wing or as a play-maker or as a withdrawn striker, and he has interested both Newcastle and Liverpool of the Premier League recently.
And according to the local Sunday Sun, Newcastle have had scouts regularly watching the 4 times capped French International.
The Longjumeau-born Frenchman began his career at Sochaux back in 2001, and then moved to Monaco in 2006, before moving to Roma in 2008 for a fee of around £10M, after incentives had been paid to Monaco by the Italian club.
Jeremy has so far played 109 times for Roma with 12 goals, and would be available for around £10M, we would think.
He has played 233 club games so far in his career with 33 goals and is a two-footed technically skilled play-maker, with undeniable pace.
Sounds good to us.
