Message To Newcastle Fans – We Will Bring In Quality Players

The transfer season is about to get under way and news today that Newcastle have just signed French youth international winger Mehdi Abeid, following a recent trial with the club.

Alan Pardew – we will bring in quality this summer

He will be one for the future of course, but it seems that manager Alan Pardew is interested in bringing some top talent to Newcastle this summer.

This is the message he had for Newcastle fans today:

“The hard work starts here” “We want to have better players next year, and get the maximum out of them.”

“We’re in that process – that’s all I can say. I think it’s important we bring in quality players.” “We missed a lot of players this season.”

“There’s no way we’d have lost that lead against West Brom with Cheick Tiote and Kevin Nolan in the team.”

“We need more quality players that can come in and make sure we win more games next year – it’s as simple as that.”

Alan had said yesterday the club would sign an International midfielder this week, but he seems to have backed away from that a little today, saying that no signings are imminent.

Newcastle are also said to be keen to bring in former winger Charles N’Zogbia, but his price will now be around £10M, as Wigan amazingly won their last two games of the season to survive again in the Premier League.

We thought they had no chance at Stoke but came away with a brave 1-0 win, and manager Roberto Martinez produced yet another miracle.

Birmingham City were caught in the relegation trap yesterday, but since winning the Carling cup they have gone about trying not to lose games, and that has all been rather boring and has hardly been a courageous way to play the game..

Even yesterday when they were 1-0 down they didn’t make an attacking change until 20 minutes left in the game, but two Roman Pavlyuchenko goals were enough to see them off.

Birmingham were relegated yesterday for the third time in five years.

Somebody should tell them that fortune favors the brave, but we have to say wee feel really sorry for their fans, who looked completely mortified after the game.

We know the feeling.

I trust G Carr has been out and about, and hopefully we will be in a much stronger position next season than the one just ended. I feel cautiously optimistic about the shape of the squad next season, and suspect we won’t be signing any household names, but we will be happy with them? More Chieke Tiote’s please.

Players from the Championship, like Ben Arfa, and Dan Gosling? Our season could have been very different had we had these 2 available. They have been very unlucky on the injury front, and yet, we still managed to have a relatively successful season, as we didn’t get relegated again. Next season I believe we will be a top 8 club again with a realistic chance of snatching a Europa league spot, which is a pretty big leap 2 years from the fizzy pop division.

I can see us getting some good players in. Todays news about Abeid is a promising start, very highly rated in France, and was only released due to Lens not meeting his contract demands.

This is the first summer in a while ive actually been excited! There is a good buzz inside the club this year and I think Ashley will back Pardew.

The team has achieved so much considering some major absences. Imagine if we had ben arfa injury free all season, had carroll injury free and free scoring all season and tiote didnt get booked as much…. In such a tight league we could have unthinkably made europe!

I can think of three games off hand the we drew and should have won (spurs at home, sunderland away and wba at home) thats 9 points off the bat that would have seen us in 7th place…

BUT hind sight is a terrible thing

Roshan- every time i see one of your enlightening comments i disagree with it. We wont just bring in championship players. Why do fans like you seem to take great pleasure in highlighting and exaggerating every bad point about Newcastle. The transfer window hasnt even started yet, and we already know that our scouts have been working very hard. Save your poisonous judgement until all the business has been done , then we will see if we have all championship players in. Bet you wont be piping up if we have some great transfers no. no. just like saying all the negaitive stuff

the trouble is pardwho’s view of quality players is very very different to actual quality players:

    Kuqi, C.Cole, Konchesky etc etc.

I’m sceptical as to whether he will bring in the quality players or he’s just saying it to shift a few season tickets. Who is that French guy we have just signed? Never heard of him

Its no longer about what we should have done, or who we should have beat this season, we did what we did, and have survived, comfortably in the end. Its now all about what we do next season, and to make sure its something big, we need ashley to back pardew, and prove any misgivings the fans have wrong!

Well apparently the mystery player we are signing is a CM… anyone thinking it could be free agent reo coker? Pardew rated him highly at west ham

Yes Rotonda, because Pardew is the one making up the Rumours about us wanting C.Cole and Konchesky…

He has come out and said we are on the verge of signing a mystery CM, surely thats an indication that he is looking elsewere rather then Relgation scraps etc.

Just keep those kinds of opinions to yourself until Pardew actually starts signing players. If he does end up signing CCole and what not. Then you were right.

The transfer window hasnt opened yet, and therefore we cant Judge Pardew on who he see’s as a quality player.

Yes i realise i made a mistake lol! But you got the point i was making still!

We dropped too many silly points ie from leading positions, points we wouldnt have dropped had we had a full squad to choose from week in week out OR a few equally good replacements

God lol this board today are eagle eyed and grumpy

People saying Pardew can’t spot talent, wasn’t he in charge of west ham when a certain Carlos Tevez was brought in. Not saying it was all down to him but he must have had something to do with it. Besides, I think he will be using Graham Carr’s reccomendations. Keep the faith.

Kuqi is a worrying start !! a 17 stone has been never wasser. i would rather have promoted Airey as Kuqi has played all of 7 minutes !!

Allegedly Carlton Cole has been enquiring about properties in Ponteland. D’OH !!!!!

toonfan he didn’t play him though! But not to worry, he’ll probably not get too much of a say in the transfer, it’s usually the headscouts reporting straight to the top nowadays, Hence the Tiote and Ben Arfa deals

jay Koorchiaban (wrong spelling ) took them to west Ham and pardew promptly dropped them and restored harewood and Mullins. hammers only narrowly avoided relegation when Pardwho was sacked in the nick of time.

i know wesh ham fans absolutely couldn’t stand him at the end as it was always someone else’s fault. Souness / Allardyce anyone !!.

Guys, do you not think it would be better if we allow the team to grow in stature steadily and not expect too much too soon. We all know in our hearts that we should be challenging for honours every season, but we’ve just returned to the top flight. Lets see if our ambition this summer says we’re heading in the right direction.

hi guys just been watching a john carver interview on nufctv and he says theyve been scouting in france, belgium, holland and uk and he says it feels like the hard work is starting to pay off we feel like were getting somewhere. hopefully we get some quality players in. i would buy a new rb simpson only good as backup,lb as jose is away unfortunately, n’zogbia, jarvis, sturridge and gameiro then a few good squad players. realistically i think well need to sign about 10 players this summer as squad is already too small plus with getting rid of(hopefully) smith, perch, campbell, kuqi, routledge, id love shola to just f**k off hes absolutly diabolical but he’ll be staying:( lovenkrands, xisco. thats 7 players which i think will be out the door weve got like 2 new signings comin back in gosling and ben arfa so that means were 5 short so i think 10 new signings 8 min is what we need what do you guys think?
next season realistic team could be:

    Krul

    Hutton Saylor Colo M’bengue

    Jarvis Tiote Barton N’zogbia

    Ben Arfa

    Long

Thanks for putting me right on that one Retonda. All I can say is, He’s got to have us in a good position in the league by the time half the season is over and still be in at least 1 cup, otherwise Ashley will have to bring down the Axe, 5 year contract or not!
