Newcastle Move To Keep Key Players And Sign New Ones

Newcastle will now turn to the transfer window and trying to secure key players already at the club, to long term contracts.

Alan Pardew – after quality players

Kevin Nolan, Joey Barton and Jose Enrique will all be players Newcastle want to sign along the dotted line soon, and that order of the names is indicative of how likely each one is to sign on at Newcastle.

Kevin Nolan is almost certain to sign, Joey Barton is likely to sign, and we have no idea about Jose.

We have no idea about Jose because we don’t know if all his talk about waiting until Newcastle were safe before he talked about a new contract, was just a ruse to put off negotiating with Newcastle, and he will now sign for Liverpool, Bayern Munich or even Manchester United.

But the bottom line on Jose is that if he wants to leave – so be it – we only want players at Newcastle who want to be here.

But Jose must now come clean with Newcastle and quickly too, so Newcastle know exactly where they stand.

Alan Pardew is naturally upbeat about Kevin Nolan signing a new deal shortly:

“We want to secure Kevin – I certainly do.”

“They are difficult deals, but that’s the process you face in the Premier League.”

“Every contract at this level is difficult and Kevin’s will be no less difficult than anybody else.”

Kevin was supposed to sign last week or the week before, but it seems player’s contracts these days are so complex they take some time to work through.

The sooner Kevin signs the better, and maybe Newcastle can bring in a couple of players in the next couple of weeks to demonstrate they mean business this summer in the transfer market

We hope so.

I have a feeling we will be pleasantly surprised with the squad come the new season. I’m no fan of AP but I am willing to give him my support and hope he comes up with the goods for the next window.

This is when this blog gets fun. I love the transfer windows haha!

Nolan and Barton want to hurry up and sign new contracts. Jose needs to hurry up and sort his head out, most likely off but I wish he’d tell us.

Hopefully bring in at least a few new players before the american tour so they get as much of pre-season as possible to gel with the rest of the squad.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we bought players from the MLS, and just picked them up when we visited the U.S. That way they’d only pay one way. Another one of Mike Ashley’s money saving schemes…

Of course I’m joking, the MLS isn’t even at our League 1 level. I was wondering how many of you off here were going to go to the games over there. Just so happens that the holiday I’d booked to Florida coincides with our game there. Fortunate bit of luck there. Even better considering I’m coming from Dubai…

Apart from Guy Demel, have Newcastle been linked with any Right Backs?

Id love Uchida from Shalke, Pacey Rb and only 23 years of age with Champions league experienced… Shalke are 14th in the Bundesliga (4 places from the bottom) this year… Maybe we could tempt him away?

Also a pacey Right winger is a must…. Menez Maybe? or Aaron Lennon from Spurs… he seems to have fallen out of favour a bit over there, and spurs are looking to bring in Hazard from Lille… 20 yr old Right winger…

    From Wiki:
Hazard is known for his creativity, speed, and technical ability and is described as a “fearless, explosive attacking midfielder who can change the game with a turn of pace or a dribble”.[2][3][4] He has also been described as “a defender’s nightmare” and has earned critical acclaim for his playing style, which has led to the media, coaches, and players drawing comparisons to FIFA World Player of the Year winners Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

It seems that our scouting network is pretty hot. I mean every player we seem to be watching is later a reported target for other clubs. I’m fairly confident we can bring in a bit of talent (and at decent prices). Our record in the transfer market over the last couple of seasons hasn’t really been that bad. A few decent buys (Nolan, Williamson, Tiote etc, all for reasonable prices), and, without wanting to stir it, 35mil for AC was a pretty decent bit of business (even if it left us short up front).

Ofcourse id prefer Hazard over Menez and Lennon, however he may be out of our price range…. and if Lennon is out of favour, spurs may be able to offer him first team football…

Jose has already left; he was absent yesterday, that’s for sure. He needs to be followed by Lua Lua, Loven, Shola, Ryan Taylor, Kuqi or whatever his name is, Campbell, Routledge, Perch, and Smith. All are either past it or never going to be good enough.

Me too BVB – but face a tough task to convince my other half that we should take a break from Disney to watch Newcastle ……

I think it might be a step too far. Imagine the scene ………

Murvar i disagree with Krul, Lua Lua and RTaylor…

Krul is still young and learning and has shown a lot of Potential of becoming a top goal keeper…

Lua Lua has a good pass on him, just came back from a serious Injury

Rtaylor is a very good squad player to have in the team, who has shown in the past he can deliver a very deadly ball into the box. He almost set up a fourth last night…

Nimo, Hargreaves is looking likely to retire. His knees are like a particularly brutal warzone.

Even if we signed him on a pay as you play deal he’d never play.

I highly doubt we would get linked with him tho, If im not mistaken he only joined Shalke in June 2010 on a 3 year contract…

    But we can always dream…

Lua Lua just hasn’t got it at this level – just like his brother/cousin/uncle or whatever he was – what a clown HE was! You lot think that just cos someone can do it at Brighton they can do it in the Premier League! And Krul just doesn’t have the presence. His feeble attempt for Chelsea’s second las t week was laughable. No – Taxi for Krul! Fraser and Harps are enough. Cash in if anyone’s daft enough to want Tim.

Murvar, the lads had two sub appearances of less than 30mins a time.

He’s also just came back from a broken leg. How exactly have you come to the conclusion he hasnt got it at this level. He hasnt had enough time to show that yet.

Plus the fact against chelsea he skinned any player he ran at, and won us the corner that got the equaliser.

He also did exactly the same yesterday in terms of running at players and skinning them.

Do you actually watch the games or just pick a name and have a go?

We need a RB in for deffo and a think Pardew nows that after saying we were punished down the right hand side, Simpson is a good back up if short on numbers but a think a RB is needed or maybe stick S.Taylor there and get S.Dann in like a lad said above….. and this player we are getting am still unsure on that maybe Diego Perotti infact as we were linked with him a few times and played for argentina a few times if am right and he wanted out of his club am sure.

    Diego Perotti
    S.Dann
    Charles N’zogbia
And 2 forwards but dont no who.

we were punished because of the incompetent manager’s fiddling, Pardew’s our worst manager in living memory with below 25% win ratio. 5 wins in 22 games is shocking and not good enough for a team that draws 50,000+ fans his substitutions were a joke and cost us over £2m in lost revenues, and as for transfers a while back he was saying we need 6 new players, now its to replace the 3-4 players who will be leaving in the summer, & he hopes to replace them with a similar standard player, my expectations for next season are low, my hopes are simply survival. a premier league supporters, steptoe & son owner, Nosferatu managing director, & a cross between a zombie& Worzel Gummage & a clown as a manager
