  If all this is true, then gervinho and bangura do come, then that would count as the two front men we wanted. However, unless one of them can play as a big target man (guessing it would have to be the 6 foot + bangura) then we’d still have to get another. Both these players seem to be described as midfield/strikers.

  im from sweden and have watched him closely. he’s different class to most other players in allsvenskan (swedens top division) but i think we should look elsewhere. worth no more than 2m£.

  I think we should go for sturridge and shane long, if reading lose out to swansea.

  I might get some abuse for putting this out there but I would try to sign DJ Campbell. He’s an out and out poacher, great work rate and can finish as we’ve seen this season. According to skysports, he’s got a buy out clause of £1.25m which is peanuts and he’d want no more than about £20k p/w. Ok he’s 29 but for that amount i’d snap him up-he’s well worth a punt!

  If he can break into a sprint occasionally then he’s going to be an improvement on Bambi, that’s for sure!!! Then again, being an improvement on Bambi isn’t much of a recommendation!!

  It looks like we could be going for the one up top and two wing forward formation next year. What’s been said of gameiro? I’ve heard the gervinho rumours.

  Imagine drogba gervinho and tiote. It would be great until the African cup on nations starts. That said I don’t believe the drogba rumour one bit.

  Gervinho would be a first big step on our recruitment drive and issue quite a statement.

  I hate agents with a passion. 9.75 mil would give the agent 975k in agent fees. Greedy.

  In fact it would probably be more benefitial to the agent if he does sign for us because if he does well there could be another transfer in a couple of years to an even bigger club.

  Chappa – I think Defoe would be a great signing but I’d go for DJ Campbell over him cos Defoe would cost £8-10m.

  I have heard a few good things about the young drogba and if we pick him up before other people do then it cant be bad business, i would love to see sturridge at newcastle and shane long, I think two fantastic prospects who will only get better, young players have to be the future

  Owen didnt get regular games at Madrid, we thought he would be a class signing… Signing Defoe would be a similar mistake… a costly one aswell!

  Since Pardew is content with bad attitude players it looks like Nzogbia will be heading to the toon… im still hoping he doesnt…
  Skillwise Yes to Zogbia… attitude wise, NO. and team spirit is more important imo.

  Owen was a proven prolific striker. Didnt turn out so well for us did he… Defoe has had multpile occasions to show his ability this season, and was utterly dreadful. Was it 3 goals all season?, Christ Ameobi scored atleast double that

  I’ve heard a few rumours about this Bangura, and a bit of Denis Wise like scouting on youtube shows some good goals, like the man above says though, the standard of football in Sweden is far lower than most of Europe. He could be worth bringing in at less than £2M though, purely as back up?

  Couldnt think of any other way to phrase it… Surely he must know about N’zogbia’s attitude problems…

  On top of that we have Joey Barton who may still slip up… Have no doubt, he has been immense and a changed man this season, but theres always that 1-5% that he might just go over board…i.e Pederson..

  Ben arfa had a falling out with Marseille… so he might be a loose cannon… too early to judge…

  but do we need a 3rd player who could cause problems within the team? Should the club really be risking it?

  I maintain my opinion that we should look elsewere for a Flair player with talents Like Nzogbia who could come cheaper, and not command a 60k wage per week, that Nzogbia is reportedly going to be offered at Newcastle…

  I dont say i want Samba all the time Toonbel… Out of all our defensive problems ive always stated that a RB and LB if enrique leaves should be our priority.

  Im completely confident that Staylor, Colo and Willo can do a job at CB with Kadar coming is awell. But since some people seem to think we need another CB, ive placed my input by suggesting Samba.

  I dont see you biting other peoples heads off for Suggesting Menez, Diego etc who are also being targeted by bigger clubs.

  Arsenal are not big spenders and they are heavily linked with samba. If he was 20mill, Arsenal would look elsewere. The quoted price for samba is around 12mill.

  Ben arfa turned out to be a good lad with his head in the right place, his injury could have broken him mentally, pardew seems to have control over barton (although I agree he could always snap) however, pardew didn’t buy barton, he inherited him. Zog appears to have grown up a bit these days, and is now no more stroppy than any other french player. If managers avoided every player that had an argument or a strop at one time or another, no one would sign for anyone! Add the fact that zog regrets moving, and is interested in a move back, then I’d say worth a chance

  am hardly biting youre head of like an just sayin samba will cost way too much considerin hes not urgent n diego and menez arnt unrealistic tho. both would cost between 9 n 12 mil . a do think diego wud be a huge mistake considerin this story………….He once again got in trouble with the management of Wolfsburg, when he on 14 May before a crucial relegation game against Hoffenheim left the hotel in which the team was staying, when he was informed he would not be starting the game. This left Wolfsburg with only 6 players on the bench for the game that would determine whether they would play another season in the German Bundesliga

  With “bad egg” players you need to think carefully but most of the time they are manageable.

  Look at SAF and cantana… Fergie himself said he had to treat him differently to the other players to get the best out of him.

  Or closer to home with SBR, we had an enormous amount of bad eggs lol bellamy, dyer, bowyer etc and yeah there was trouble but that was the best team since keegans…

  All im saying is with the right management, the right ego boosting and a good team spirit players can turn their lives around

  What formation do you think we should go for…

  Personally i believe that playing Barton and Tiote (Gosling filling in for either due to both more then likely going to recieve suspensions next year) then allowing a threee infront Ben Arfa in the middle with Zog on the left (if enrique goes) and Jonas on the right (left if enrique stays due to their link up play.) With a tall stricker upfront (Would say Sturridge but i just know we arn’t going to get him NOT i repeat NOT Shitner my whole familys Arsenal and they laughed at us being linked with him he can fu8k off to Munich.)

  Ive always defended Simpson but ive only really seen games from tele so havnt seen live but the way use lot dont rate him im slowly being dragged onto your side and beleive that a new RB is needed just for compitition just to make Simpson work harder in training) STaylor has come on really well and wouldnt mind him and colo playing CB next year Im not to sure about Enrique he really does need to let us know now so that we can allow the bidding war to begin now to drive the price to its absolute mximum.

  See I think we should let the 3 keepers battle it out for the spot, get a solid right-back like beck or the one you keep mentioning. Then get 2 strikers, good ones, one that is an out and out striker, like sturridge and a 2nd striker like gervinho. I think only one winger should be bought as we alread have ben arfa, gosling, ferguson and jonas, so menez or n’zogbia would be good, and an average centre back would be helpful, just for cover (someone a bit better than campbell!) So the team would look like this…

  Harper

  NEW RB- S.Taylor- Colo- Enrique/M’Bengue

  Menez/Zog- Barton- Tiote- Ben Arfa

  Sturridge- Gervinho

  And we would still have quality players on the bench like Nolan, Jonas, Ferguson, Simpson and Williamson!

  If you watch Nolan playing he’s actually the slowest player on the pitch, unless Campbells playing! He gets a completely free role in midfield which someone like Barton would occupy much better, and Tiote and Barton are better players than Nolan.

  Yeah do you not think we could get more goals if someone who could actually help out tiote and pass the ball to the strikers rather than Nolan who never gets near the ball or fouls. Since AC basically handed at least half of his goals to him on a plate I think that Nolan isn’t as good as his stats suggest…
