Newcastle To Unload Players – But Xisco Still A Problem

Alan Pardew will be unloading a few players at Newcastle this summer.

Xisco – has been a bust

It seems obvious that Wayne Routledge will move on to QPR for around £1.5M, and Sol Campbell has played his last game for Newcastle,  and in the season appeared only 8 times for Newcastle due to lack of form and injury.

Sol says he still wants to continue in football but could it find it hard to get picked up by a Premier League side.

Shefki Kuqi will also leave and Newcastle will want to unload Xisco, if anybody will take him.

With Xisco, Newcastle are suffering from striking a terrible deal for the player in late August of  2008, which led to Kevin Keegan leaving the club.

Dennis Wise paid out £5.7M for the player but he was also given a five year contract at  £50K/week, and it’s obvious he will try to see out the final two years of his contract, probably out on loan if Newcastle can get a club willing to take him.

But it’s simply been a nightmare financially fir the club,  to be paying out so much money for a player who just isn’t good enough to make the side.

Xisco has been on loan at Deportivo since January,  but Coloccini as well as Xisco’s former club were relegated this season,  when they finished 3rd bottom of La Liga,  just one point from safety.

Xisco played 9 times with 2 goals for Deportivo this year.

Mike Ashley wants value for money, and you cannot blame him for that, but Sol Campbell became the latest player at Newcastle who couldn’t get into the first team,  but was still on a massive £45K/week.

Other senior players who could move out include Alan Smith and Danny Guthrie, but we would be surprised if either player left this summer.

Young Ben Tozer hasn’t seemed to make the grade at Newcastle, since signing from Swindon back in January of 2008, and he will most likely leave the club.

Surely it would be cheaper to just pay him to cancel his contract if we cant shift him off the books

But am sure we could offer him as part exchange for someone! He isnt the worst player in the world in all fairness

Alan Smith – 50k per week and can’t play football

Ameobi – 11 seasons and all he is good at is giving the ball to the opposition

Xisco – 50k per week and spend most of the kisssing his guys friends

brutooon. wat has ameobi ever done to u. every post all u talk about is ameobi this ameobi that. hes been at this club probably longer than uv supported it n hes chipped in when we need him,, imagine coming on here to see loads of people slate u. ok hes nt the best player but he cost us nout to sign, hes a local lad, stayd last season wen we needed him. scored that hatrick early last season witch set the tone for our season, and a bet his wages rnt as bad as others. and to be honest a dont care if xisco kisses men or spends his weekend as a hooker who specilizes in giving horse blowjobs just as long as hes a good player, which sadly doesnt look like he is

I don’t think Xisco is any worse than Shola. Shola would never get a game for Deportivo. I don’t care who the lad is kissing as long as he is able to find the net.

I’m sick and tired of seeing Ameobi up front, please sell him to a CCC side and bring some players with flair and commitment in.

If we shifted Smith, Xisco and Campbell from our wage bill this summer it would save us nearly £9 million in wages. Frightening.

lol are you shola in disguise?

There are a lot of fringe players on big money that should be shown the door, the trouble is Newcastle FC is also home to one of the worst injury lists in football lol

We need to be careful when getting rid of players not to leave ourselves short. Unless we get a player for everyone that leaves AND the extra on top

u cant say xisco is a bad player..he never really got a chance..^ when he did play he scored a few & made an assist or 2 as i recall.. i think he should stay at the club when carroll was sold…he is probably still the most talented of all strikers we currently have in our squad.. but yeah..sths probably wrong with him..why else every manager is avoiding him.. probably attitude but..do we really know?

The Breton club has already received an offer of 10 million euros in Newcastle. Between the desire to respect the player and the fact that the Breton club wants to sell his best player at the highest price, it will not be easy to balance all interests. The ball is clearly in the camp of Valencia. From that french link

Tottenham, Valencia, Paris and Lille snapped up the services of Kevin Gameiro. Except surprise or twist, the star of Lorient will not escape any of these four clubs. For now, the player remains focused on his desire to join Valencia. Reportedly, the Spanish club must again be closer to Lorient these days to try to reach agreement in the transfer. Remains whether Valencia will be ready to offer more than 6 million euros as was the case last January, and get closer 8-10000000 expected by Lorient.

Did Valencia get taken over? Must of missed that, last time I read anything about them they were a massive financial mess (There’s probs some spanish geezer on a Valencia blog right now saying the same thing about the toon like?).

On a side note, there’s a rumour came from a mackem at work who says we are trying to sign Thomas Hitzlsperger on a free, as back up to CT. Allegedly TH had a relegation release clause in his WHU contract. Cant see it happening myself and there’s nothing on the usual sources.

I don’t think we can really blam Xisco. He was offered a ‘dream’ contract and took it. I’ve not seen too many games where he’s featured (either in Spain and England), but when I have seen him he seemed to have a decent touch and left foot. But as has been said, there must be something wrong or he’d have had more chances. Deportivo went down this year for the simple reason that they couldn’t score goals, and even then they hardly used him…. enough said I think.
