Kevin Nolan Having Second Thoughts About New Contract?

News in the Daily Mail today that Kevin Nolan is now stalling on signing his new contract at Newcastle.

Kevin Nolan – Newcastle captain stalling on new deal?

This is not surprising news to hear, after Joey Barton was told he would not be offered a new deal on Tyneside, but whether it’s true or not is a completely different matter.

There was always going to be stories coming out after the Joey Barton shock earlier in the week, that Nolan himself may be having seocnd thoughts on staying on long term at Newcastle.

But everything we have heard from Kevin, tells us he is keen to stay on Tyneside, but he will probably have to do that without two other top players in the side – Joey Barton and Jose Enrique.

But having also got rid of Andy Carroll in January, we really hope the Newcatsle hierarchy know what they are doing this summer.

There hasn’t been too much evidence of that these last fours years, since Mike Ashley bought the club.

And that’s not an opinion – it’s a fact.

But we still think Kevin will sign on at Newcastle on a long term deal.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

Any actual quotes from Nolan involved in the story, or is this another example of the DM stirring it up for us (see previous thread for details)?

I said weeks ago I was worried about the senior guys signing these contracts. Pardew mentioned it would be difficult getting these guys to sign deals (BUT HE SAYS WE MUST KEEP THESE PLAYERS) As long as we have Ashley/Lambias/Pardew at the club we will be fed Lie after Lie after Lie. F#####g hideous individuals who rip the p~~s out of the fans. The backbone and spirit is being dismantled piece by piece. Ashley may have put us on a sound financial footing however I hate everything he and his bum boys treat the fans.

I can’t dismiss this as rubbish, because I, like everybody else posting on here, don’t know what the truth of any of the recent stories is; be it good stories or bad.

We don’t know yet who will be coming in and who will be leaving. I, for one, will not be getting excited about any arrivals or departures until the cub announce them. Everything is speculation and media/agents sh1t stirring.

The only thing Ashley is interested in is his wallet. He has contempt for the club. If he cannot sell the club for the exorbitant price he wants he will asset strip the club. that means selling the best players and replacing them with cheaper versions. He is making a nice living selling our best players. His ambition is to keep us as an average team in the Prem, sell off the best players and then sell up when the wheels start to come off. To get into the top 4 costs money and there is no chance he will cough up. Carroll has gone , so too Jose and now Barton and probably Nolan. Do not be surprised to see Tiote go in the summer as well. Nobody of any class wants to play for this plonker. Absolute travesty. Is he still alive because he says as much as Roman? Say nowt and keep pocketing. Is he still officially trying to sell. Nobody knows anymore. We are all mushrooms who are fed bullshit.

I want the club to be profitable.
But I also want the club to keep its best players and add better players!!

I mean am i thick here or is it not a good Idea to hold on to what we have (Best players) by in good young players, bring them through until they are better than the best players and then the cycle starts again!!

NO we buy in good young players to replace our best players, and sell best players, before the young uns are ready……….

I would say he does this to make profit profit profit….nothing else, and doesnt care whther the team finish or 4th bottom, as long as they reatin premiership status, fat cash will be happy!!

Tribal football isn’t the most reliable source of information. They don’t even edit their articles.
“Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Real Madrid fullback Fabio Coentrao… Real Madrid are also keen on Coentrao.”
    Enough said…

There has been nothing from the club, from the manager or the players in either the Bartoon or Nolan stories.

On Barton, I think his agent is trying to stir up interest from other clubs to try and buy Barton, then he (the agent) will get a big payday.

On Nolan – all paper talk, and Daily Mail paper talk at that!

one season in the premier league is just not good enough. who does ashley think he can get in for better prices and better wages that will KEEP us up next season. the second season is always harder to stay up in. ask birmingham!
now that we’re essentially getting rid of our best 3 players left. we’ll have to rely on the youngster experience and pray our argentines dont want to leave.

whoever we bring in will likely not have any premier league experience. how are they gonna keep us up!
