News today in the Daily Mail that Wigan have turned down a £5M offer for Charles N’Zogbia.
Charles N’Zogbia – £5M bid turned down
What Newcastle would bid £5M, when they sold Charles to Wigan two years last January for £6M plus Ryan Taylor is beyond me – because if anything N’Zogbia has improved in his time at Wigan, and certainly has started to add goals to his game.
That’s especially true since Wigan are still in the Premier League.
N’Zogbia tunrs 25 tomorrow, and has scored 18 goals in 88 appearances for Wigan.
But of course initial low bids is the way things go these days, and maybe Wigan would have been daft enough to accepted the bid, and we expect Newcastle to increase their offer.
We even think Charles would be worth up to £10M of the £35M the club received for Andy Carroll in January.
Three players of Charles’ ability would be good business for Newcastle, in place of Andy Carroll.
We hope the recent news that Charles is keen to return to Tyneside is true, because that will help Newcastle in their quest for the player.
We have to admit we criticized Charles big time when he left the club, but he seems to have both improved as a player and became more mature too, and the fact he wants to come back to Newcastle make him a good buy, as far as we are concerned.
Of course because he’s French Arsene Wenger at Arsenal may also be interested in the player, and so are Sunderland, if reports are to be believed.
What do you think?
