Pardew – Newcastle Must Improve Next Season

Alan Pardew has again said today that the 35M they received for Andy Carroll in January will be spent in the upcoming summer transfer market.

Alan Pardew – at Sunderland in January

Alan has also asked the Newcastle fans be patient  this summer, as the club goes about trying to get new talent on Tyneside,

Alan knows there was huge disappointment surrounding the news earlier this week, that popular Joey Barton would not be offered a new contract, but he still hopes to keep Joey at Newcastle for next season.

This is what Pardew told the local Newcastle press corps today:

“My message to the fans is that we have to be better next year, it’s as simple as that.” “If we lose Joey like we lost Andy Carroll, we have to improve.”

“We haven’t really had a chance to do anything yet in terms of the transfer market.” “With Andy Carroll, we didn’t have a chance to respond, and we haven’t done anything yet because no-one’s done anything yet. But at some point we will.”

“It’s always negatives towards the end of the season, as players get released – like Sol Campbell and Shefki Kuqi.

“Now the positive stuff needs to come in, and that’s the next period for Newcastle. Positive news about players coming in, and that’s what the fans want.”

There was some news today in France that Newcastle may have tied up a deal with Lille central midfielder Johan Cabaye, and he looks more than a decent player.

That will offer some real competition in the center of the park if the news is true –  mainly for Kevin Nolan –  since the player is an attacking central midfielder.

Comments welcome.

Pardew want to improve the team & Ashley wants to improve the balance sheet and get his money back – we can only hope these two objectives are compatible.

At least next season there can be no excuses, and we will know if MA is interested in the football, and if AP is any good as a manager.

    It is possible..

Bring in Larsson, Ba, Pratley all on frees and then bring in Cabaye, Gamiero and Gervinho all for around 25 million

Then get rid of Barton, Enrique, Xisco, Alan Smith, Campbell and Kuqi all for 15 million

We have then only spent 10 million on making our team a lot better.

    Simpson….Saylor.. Coloccini..Ferguson

    Gervinho……………………………Ben Arfa

With Ba, Larsson, Best, Gutierrez as subs 🙂

Pardew himeself must be first be improved.

I don’t expect him to be a Mourinho, but please at least as hardworking as he is, who works almost 18 works a day, rather than spending too much time with the media.

What are you guys complaining about? We had memorable results the past season, we finished at a highly respectable position despite a very thin squad and lots of injuries and suspensions of key players. As for a first season back in the Premiership I see no reason for negativity! It’s easy to support when all is fine, right?

    AP just loves talking…

I saw Cabaye play last April against Monaco and he was simply amazing. I got a ticket for the game last minute for very cheap and wasn’t expecting much of a game. 4-0 it ended (3 or 4-0 cant 100% remember) with Cabaye scoring a beauty and a penalty.

Lads if it’s true and we get him we have got another gem. Might sound cheesy but he’s the French xavi!

I’d be happy for a new Robert or Solano 🙂 It’s what we have been missing for some time now! No disrespect to Jonas, he’s tireless and hard working, but little flair 🙂

Definitely a Tiote gem. He is a straight cross between Ben Arfa and Tiote is his qualities. Well that is from what I have seen.

We have enough British players to keep the team sprit going even if we buy like 5 French speaking players. Might even get more out of Tiote and Ben Arfa is they have more mates around them!

I admire your optimism, and I hope you are correct.
Next season will will see what Pardew can do, I only hope we can have stability, I don’t think wholesale changes are always good. But as you point out, there is plenty of money – even if they only spend a fraction.
In the end it comes down to what Mike Ashley wants from the [his] club.

People saying we are going to get both Gameiro and Gervinho must be joking? It’s a grand dream though. Gervinho will go to a club in the Champs league. Mayber we will get Gameiro (hope so) and maybe this Cabaye who I hadn’t heard mentioned linked to us anywhere before today. They would be great. We could ues a better RB as well. Simpson ok as squad player. I wouldn’t object to Reo-Coker in the squad in place of Smith in case of injuries to the starting 11. Ranger Vuckic and Airey out on loan (hopefully Vuckic gets an injury free season in).

Just hope with all of these new players, we never see Strolla and Ryan Taylor ever again except maybe playing for the smoggies or Stevenage borough.
As much as I appreciate the miniscular effort and skill Strolla has shown and the odd goal, I just hope we will move on from needing such poor quality players snd we will hopefully have more strngth in debth.
(thats assuming the rumours are true and not another Cashley smokescreen)
I gotta say though…I am a little more optomistic this transfer window now were self sufficient as a club, with a good kitty to play with.
There are also a good few free transfers available which are better than what we have in some positions.
We live in hope ….HWTL A mag in the belly of the beast !!!!!!

watch the champion league final,Barca keep the possession so well.

    compare to Newcastle United

We got 2-3 passes then long ball to Ameobi, then possession back to opponent.

I have just read this article and can say immediately that it is a piece of fabricated, made up rubbish! I was at the game last week and, although no big fan of Mike Ashley, I can categorically state that myself, my wife and my kids all commented on the fact that we saw Mike Ashley sit after the match had ended and waited for the lap of appreciation from the players. I remember thinking that he mustn’t be happy sitting waiting for them to come back out but he did wait and stayed.

I doubt that my comment will stay on this page for long but the author of this rubbish has simply made it up to try and cause trouble. What a waste of time. Absolutely pathetic.
