The Daily Express is reporting today that owner Mike Ashley stormed out of St James’s Park minutes after the final whistle last Sunday, furious that Newcastle had given away a three goal lead to WBA with 30 minutes remaining of the season, and with it a very good 9th place.
Mike Ashley – storms out of St. James’ Park
That doesn’t surprise us one little bit, because we were furious too.
How can a home side in front of 52000 fans give away 3 goals, when they had reached the highest target they could have wished for – 9th place – in their first season back in the Premier League?
We don’t know the answer to that, but we can hardly blame Mike for that – most Newcastle fans felt the same way and booed the side off the pitch.
But we’re over it now, but that’s hardly a good sign for Alan Pardew – who may have also come under some fire from the owner after the game.
It also meant that the non-playing staff at Newcastle didn’t get the £500K bonus Mike had promised if Newcatsle had won the game, so all in all last Sunday was tragic – and also allowed Sunderland to finish above us in the league.
But as we said we’ve got over it now – and I’ve go a pain in my shoulder just thinking about it again, 😀
It also cost the club about £2.4M in prize money and in our report after the game mentioned that Mike Ashley wouldn’t have been too happy.
But like all of us, Mike seems to be over it now, and is engaged fully in getting new signings at the club to strengthen the Newcastle squad.
And from what we can tell Newcastle have already put in bids for at least six new players, and it has to be upwards and onwards from now on.
Comments welcome.

Comment #41He did storm out of stadium, for a quick grab of a prawn bacon sandwich, and a quick bet of roulette number 12. Then went back to his seat and watched the lap of honour.

Comment #45If he didn’t storm out, he should have. It was a nightmare, conceding 3 in the last 30 mins of the season at home, in front of your own people is just a shame.
And to let Somen Tchoyi bag 3… Incredible

Comment #48As long as we have players of the calibre of shola, loven, smith, simpson, barton, williamson, harper, ranger, perch, best, and the two taylors then we’ll always be what we are a team always trying to avoid the drop under Pardew next season will be in a relegation dog-fight thats all his career has been about struggle and under achievement.

Comment #49Terminate contract of Alan Smith and Shola Ameobi
Both Shit – Not even a Pub Club would want to sign them
Terminate Contract = Compensation
Compensation = Improve the Squad + Will go to Europe
Therefore
Terminat contract for two SHIT players = PRICELESS

Comment #50The only time we ‘ll go into europe is on our holidays, even the Makems finished above us and half their team was on loan! Dont run away with the idea that Pardew has a clue what he’s dong a look at his substitutions against WBA should explain that here was the chance to finish in the top half and above the Makems and he couldnt do it even with a 3goal start now that sends out a very clear message im happy we arent relegated not i want to be a top ten team which is the differance between a winner and a loser!

Comment #51Who cares!! If he did he did, if didn’t then so be it. I’d be pi**ed off if I just lost 2.5 m.
I lost £50 to a mackem cos they finished higher in the league.
Should never let a three goal slip and I feel pardew brused aside finishing below Sunderland (Does he really understand the passion of the NUFC supporters)?

Comment #52What a load of Tosh!
I was at St James Park on Sunday and saw MA and Ambiarse sat there discussing the match and applauding the team on their lap of ‘appreciation.
