The news today is that Newcastle have been quoted a fee from Wigan of £12M for for former Magpie winger Charles N’Zogbia.
Charles N’Zogbia – is he worth £12M?
Wigan have a bit of a cheek, and we’re not sure if it’s even legal – but they have said they will sell Charles for £9M to a club playing in the Champions League next season, but for other clubs they will sell him for £12M – how can that be legal?
So if the richest clubs come around, they can get him for £9M, but the poorer clubs will have to cough up £12M – what’s wrong with this picture?
Well, if that’s the case we should probably cross Charles off the list, because Newcastle should be able to get better value elsewhere for £12M.
But surely Wigan cannot do this from a legal standpoint?
The Newcastle Journal is reporting that Newcastle have not been put off by the fee or his wage demands of around £55K/week.
But surely they should be, and there’s always a question regarding Charles as a team player, as in the last eighteen months on Tyneside, he was a problem child.
We think £10M is the maximum Newcastle should pay for N’Zogbia to return to Newcastle, what do you think?
