Charles N’Zogbia Would Love To Return To Newcastle

It seems there are at least four clubs chasing former Newcastle winger Charles N”Zogbia.

Chales N’Zogbia – would love to return to Newcastle

But the £12M fee placed on him by his club Wigan yesterday, for clubs not in the Champions League seems high. Apparently £9M is being asked if a club is in the Champions League which to us seems daft, but of course it could be another made up story.

In our poll on the home page 52% think that is too high and he wouldn’t be worth that fee – with 41% thinking it would be a good deal and the other 7%  undecided.

Liverpool, Aston Villa and Sunderland join Newcatsle in the chase for the French International winger, and apparently Charles is also thinking of seeing out his contract at Wigan and becoming a free agent next summer, but we don’t think that will happen.

Wigan will want to cash in on him this summer, and around £10M is too much for the small club to pass up.

Charles turned 25 on May 28th, and is currently on vacation across here in the US, and maybe he’ll back over next month, as a new player for Newcastle, on their three match US tour.

The news is that Newcastle are still firmly in the chase, and maybe even the favorites to sign the 25 year-old.

It seems like Charles enjoyed his time at Newcatsle and retains a strong personal attraction to both the club and the area

It seems that N’Zogbia’s advisers are even keen on him moving back to Newcastle, with a source close to the player saying this to the Newcastle Journal:

“Charles never really wanted to leave. It was then manager Joe Kinnear he fell out with, not Newcastle.”

“He has kept in touch with several of his former team-mates and told them he would love to go back.”

“And while he has never worked for Alan Pardew, he knows his No 2 John Carver very well.”

“He thoroughly enjoyed his time there, loves the city and would jump at the chance of pulling on the shirt again.”

“Of course, Charles will consider all his options but there’s a strong emotional pull about returning to Newcastle.”

Indeed John Carver may be able to persuade the lad to return to Newcastle, because John was also Assistant Manager to Bobby Robson when Charles was signed back in the summer of 2004 from Le Havre as an 18 year-old.

£12M to us seems a little high, but there’s also a difference between what Wigan want for the player and what they’ll get.

It seems he’ll probably leave for around £10M or less, and since we sold him to Wigan for £6M plus Ryan Taylor 30 months  ago, that’s not a bad price to pay for a very good winger who can score goals.

Comments welcome.

Thats what I like to hear, a player with an apparent burning desire to play for the club, fans and the game. This what we need to kick start the next season. But 12 million too high. Got my fingers crossed for a sensible conclusion 🙂

Skysports states he wants European football and a club with ambition that can help him with the french squad.

A team that is apparantly content with destroying the team spirit shows a lack of ambition in my book.

This N’Zogbia situation seems to be the complete opposite of the gameiro situation! after hearing city etc are interest in gervinho though, I can only see us getting N’Zogbia if we are lucky

I agree with you, but I would defo have him back….

Unlike your gervinho’s and Gameiro’s, this guy is a proven premiership class player, who actually virtually single handedly saved wigan from relegation last season!!

We are likely to sign Cabaye, we have Ben Arfa, both france internationals, why not bring him here, Laureant Blanc will be watching us a wee bit next season Im sure!!

    Makes sense to me….

But it does seem like the fat controller is defo trying to wreck team spirit with his handling of Nolan and Barton…..cant see it any other way!!

Cue, its the wages theyre greedy blah blah blah…

sorry lads but all the people who come on here saying nzogbias not worth 12mil need to have a reality check we are no longer in a position to offer players what they really want which is european football therefore we need to pay good money to get them thats what it will take to push on now we cand do other teams do and sign players of a lesserquality to do a job or we can pay good money and go forward simple as that.

It cant be the wages imo, I reckon its just the contract length, Barton wanted 3 years with a possible 4th, and Nolan wanted five. Thats what ive read online…

They seem very willing to offer Insomnia a nice phat wage.

As usual the simple minded fella repeats himself and doesnt notice i have responded to him in a previous post.

Is posting my opinion a crime now?

Just because our opinion on the lad contradicts eachother doesnt give you any justified right to get your panties in a twist and spew vulgarities over the internet.

My comment on team spirit had no connection to Nzogbia. It was a mere indication that the club is so eager to destroy the CURRENT team spirit that got us this far and its a sign of a lack of ambition to anyone who may come to Newcastle.

This is a strange opinion. In fact, the wording appears to be a factual statement.

N’Zog and a few other players and we can be challenging for a euro spot quite happily.

Well he is saying the right things-this time! He is a fantastic talent without a doubt, no rainer in terms of playing and settling straight in. BUT he needs to mature big style, and not agitate for a move to a bigger club if he comes.
I know one of his best mates up here, he says he can’t understand him sometimes. He does not listen to advice from anyone, on any subject. He says he’s odd, but also very likeable- an enigma. If he can sort his head out the sky’s the limit for him. Just hope if he comes, the rest of the team take to him. They didn’t last time!

Funny how just the other day, you stated that news from these random newspapers were all paper talk. But now, because an article gives you Wood, you want it to be true. And refuse to be realistic.

I’m imagining the pace going forward if he signs. With Ferguson up and coming, Enrique staying(hopefully!!) Guti and Nzog. Lua Lua is a good prospect for the future. Sturridge would be the icing on the cake. SJP would be rocking. Mouth watering.

Problem is, certain individuals acknowledge that its paper talk and probable BS when they DONT like the player, however when the same papers print out news about a Player the certain individual wants. Its suddenly Hard evidence that we are going to sign him.

Skysports is a more Credible source and it states Nzogbia has bigger ambitions then Newcastle and wants a club challenging for silverware. All im doing is attempting to keep peoples hopes down low, so that when Nzogbia probably doesnt sign for the Toon. They dont throw a temper tantrum over Nufcblog.

I agree Mo, fans on here are very selective over which stories are bullsh1t and which arent, even from the same papers/journo’s etc lol.

Thing is with Zog is a club challenging for silverware has to come in for him first, and I don’t think one will, except maybe Liverpool. So I still think its quite likely he’ll come to us.

Undecided whether its a good idea still though, hell of a player and would definately improve us, but hes a whingey little bast@rd haha!
