Yohan Cabaye To Sign For Newcastle On Friday

With all the twists and turns that have gone on with Gervinho this week, it’s good to know that Newcastle will make their first signing of the summer within the next few days.

Yohan Cabaye – will sign for Newcastle on Friday

Yohan Cabaye will become a Newcastle United player before the weekend, and he will be Newcastle’s first signing of the summer, and the French International will cost €5M (about £4.3M) and that has to be a good buy for the club.

Cabaye is still on international duty with France – they play in the Ukraine tonight – but the French press say he is due in Newcastle on Friday and will take a medical and then sign a five-year deal, with the compensation already being agreed for the player.

That will be a good start for Newcastle and it’s a great price, and it was a release clause in the 25 year old’s contract at Lille.

Yohan joined Lille back in 1998 as a 12 year-old and made his debut for the club in 2004, and since then he has played 253 times with 39 goals for the French Champions,

He is a box-to-box midfielder and  Cabaye stands 5’9″ tall and played for all the French Youth side from U16 through U21, and so far has 3 full caps for his country.

He looks to be a great signing for the Tyneside club.

Not done till it’s done, but this feels genuine. Some of the mass hysteria on here recently has had me scratching my head, and I said I wouldn’t post until we actually signed someone…….but I couldn’t resist. Transfer Hysteria must be catching!

A few of you.. have a word with yourselves man… you reacting like 13 year old hysterical school girls… is it really that easy to make people suck in and believe an article? I thought everyone knew that the tabloids are like comics … seems not!

    1) Cabaye is a top top player. Anyone who suggests otherwise really doesn’t know what they are talking about to be honest. Its a real coup we somehow have got him here, yet some posters are still finding a reason to complain. Man, your lives must be awful if you can find the negative in this .. you have my pity.

    2) Some of you are like a gaggle of gossiping old housewives. Listen to yourselves. One person stupidly suggests that he will replace 3 players.. and then a whole group latch on and believe it. Get some perspective man. You REALLY believe this?

3.) We sign the top, up and coming midfielder in France whose coach claims hes good enough for Barcelona and French press are aghast he has joint a mid table team, and someone moaning about Gervinho. Some of you could find the negative in anything man.

Try changing your outlook just a little. With Ashley healthy scepticism is needed, but try seeing things the way they are instead of being hyper hysterical bedwetters!

alienhunter – Well Said. Sick of all the hysteria when any rumour comes out.
Players leaving – Ashley and Pardew are stupid destroying club selling best players
Players coming in – Ashley will never spend that much he is destroying club.
when things are concrete then lets have an opinion instead of getting worked up on rumours in press

Is it me or do we seem to enjoy selling our captains? Scotty Parker was our captain, he was sold, Geremi came in and was made captain, he was sold, Butt last season, let go, and Smith, Nolan, Barton all been captain – Au Revoir…
Maybe we should make Xisco captain, might be able to get rid of him then…

We still need 2 Strikers who can cope with the skill and pace or our new midfield/ wingers!!

Please dont say Bambi & Best, they are no more than back-up in a half decent side!!!

If we could somehow pull off the signings to of gervinho and nzogbia, I’d be happy with those 2 either side of tiote and cabaye, Ben arfa floating around even Leon best and I’d bet we’d have at least a side challenging the top 6, would love it if we can keep Enrique, but if he goes to Barcelona then fair dues to the lad and I hope he goes on to prove a truly great player that only Geordies give him the credit for, Barton, gutierrez and Nolan on the bench, one can dream. Lol

Alienhunter, good points, well made. I hugely doubt that we will get Gervinho ( Arsenal I think ) but the negativity and anger amongst Toon fans has to be read to be believed. Is it no wonder the southern press laugh at you with this hysteria?
