There’s no doubt that Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster is attracting a lot of attention from other clubs.
Fraser Forster – very talented giant goalkeeper
Fraser has been outstanding for Norwich City and Glasgow Celtic in the last two seasons, that have seen the 23 year-old rack up 90 of his 97 total first team club appearances.
That compares with Tim Krul’s 69 first team club appearances, but 34 of those have been for the Newcastle United first team, whereas Fraser has yet to make his debut for Newcastle.
And Tim Krul picked up his second International cap yesterday in Holland’s 1-1 draw with Uruguay (Uruguay won 4-3 on penalties), and those teams met in last summer’s World Cup semi-final, when Holland got though to the final, only to be beaten by Spain.
So some revenge for the South Americans and both goals were scored by Liverpool players – Luis Suarez after 83 minutes for the hosts and Dirk Kuyt for the Dutch on 90 minutes.
Hull City have been linked today with Newcastle United goalkeeper Fraser Foster, and it could be that the giant 6ft 7in goalkeeper could again be sent out on loan next season.
But Fraser will get his chance to show how much he has improved over the last two seasons in pre-season, when Newcastle’s three goalkeepers Steve Harper, Tim Krul and Forster will get a chance to show why they should be Newcastle’s first choice goalkeeper for next season.
In our poll, 50% think Tim will get the job, with Fraser second on 24% and current number one Steve Harper third on 19%, with 7% undecided. That poll is still open on our home page if you haven’t yet cast your vote.
We are hoping Alan Pardew doesn’t sell Fraser Forster this summer, because this lad is still improving, and at 23 he is still very young for a goalkeeper, and they can play until they are 40 years old these days.
If Fraser doesn’t get the number one position on Tyneside this summer, we would hope Pardew will send him out on a season-long loan deal again, and perhaps Hull City would be a good destination for him.
Certainly there’s no way he will be going north of the border again, as Newcastle have been disappointed at the poor standard of football and pitches in the SPL.
We would hope Newcastle can keep both their 23 year-old goalkeepers long term on Tyneside, but that could prove difficult with both lads looking to become first class goalkeepers.
What do you think?
Comments welcome.

Ed I think there’s been a bit of misunderstanding here. On the “Homepage” the question is. “Who Should Be Newcastle’s Goalkeeper Next Season?”
But here you have rephrased the question to. “In our poll, 50% think Tim will get the job”. “THINK”. I voted that Krul should be No. 1. But I think Harper will get it. Which makes the poll null and void.

Comment #91Why has everyones attitude changed about Krul in the space of about a month? Most people a month or so back were all for Forster, but it seems since Krul had his international debut all of a sudden hes the best keeper going. I personally think that Forster is the better keeper and a few nufc players i spoken to have said the same. Theres no way he will stay with us and go out on loan, why would he?! If he gets loaned out then Krul is obviously Pardews preferred option of the 2 so why waste another season in the championship or wherever he goes.

Comment #101ED – the posts are best with the most recent at the BOTTOM of the page that way it gives anyone who wants to see past comments to have their opinions on what has been said.
Numbers to go beside each comment like there was before, it was extremely helpful as you instantly knew what number your post was on and what comes after it are obviously new posts.
Page numbers at the bottom instead of going back and forth like a moron looking through ‘older comments’ and ‘newer comments’ and losing yourself without the numbers on the side to guide you. It’s all very shabby.
I love the blog Ed so please don’t mess it up. I think if you do what I mentioned above most of us will greatly appreciate it.

The article is called …….. …….Top 10 Wayne Rooney goals in 2011…
Really? how much did they think he scored? 30 goals this season. He only had 11 goals this year, its surely hard to take out 1 goal and make a top 10 😀

Comment #106Someone saying people changing there mind because of Krul playing well for Holland. Suppose that would influence pretty much everyones mind wouldn’t it? Keeping a clean sheet against non Brazil of all teams is something that shouldn’t be scoffed at. Most people who say FF is better judge that on throwaway comments by ed in this article saying he has been outstanding without even watching him. Forster simply isn’t good enough in comparison to Krul and i’d be pretty surprised if anyone who has watched him more than once does not agree

Comment #120Plus Mr T.Iote Ryad would probs choose us more than he would of known Cabaye and Ben Arfa thats a big pull for French speaking players with other players who speak that language at Liverpool there isnt any apart from NGog, and i think he went to Scumderland.
Id prefer Martin over Ryad, but i think we have 2 basses, French speaking (Tiote/Arfa/Cabaye etc.) and Spanish (Jose/Colo/Jonas) we should build from that.
