This is not the first time that Newcastle have been linked with South Korean International striker Ji Dong-Won.
Ji Dong-Won – striker has just turned 20
The 20-year-old has been watched by Newcastle for over two months now, and the first reports of Newcastle’s interest were in April this year.
Sunderland are also said to be interested, but that’s not too surprising since it seems Sunderland are always after Newcastle targets – that’s how it seems in any case.
The 6’2″ striker turned 20 years old on May 28th, and would probably cost around £1M from his club Chunnam Dragons, who play in the K league and are located in the South Korean city of Gwangyang.
He has played 42 times for the Dragons and scored 15 goals since early last year, and has already represented South Korea 11 times and scored 6 goals.
It would seem he wouldn’t be too much of a risk at £1M, and of course he fits into the profile of players Newcastle want to sign this summer – hungry young players who can improve on Tyneside..
It could also enable Newcastle to sell quite a few shirts in South Korea – a growing football nation.
Maybe some of our South Korean readers can tell us how good this 20 year-old striker is.
We think he would be an interesting acquisition for Newcatsle.
