It Will Be A Very Busy Summer For Alan Pardew

Jose Enrique’s potential dream move to Barcelona may not happen after all.

Jose Enrique – still no decision on where he’s going

And this morning his agent, Salvador Sanchez, has told Vanguardia.com that they know absolutely nothing about the supposed interest from European Champions Barcelona:

“We know nothing but what has emerged in the press.”

There were reports earlier in the week that Barcelona would come after Jose, but maybe that was just another made-up story this summer, and we all know there are a lot of them during any transfer window.

But Newcastle fans still don’t even know if Jose wants to leave Newcastle this summer, and with Alan Pardew now back on Tyneside  today to welcome new boy Yohan Cabaye to the club, he will be concerned that not only Jose could leave, but Kevin Nolan and Joey Barton too.

Alan did get involved with Steven Taylor’s contract negotiations in December, after Steven had been placed on the transfer list, and he was successful in that specific case in getting an agreement between club and player.

Newcastle fans will be hoping he can also have some success in keeping his captain Kevin Nolan, Joey Barton and even Jose Enrique on Tyneside this summer.

At this point that would amount to some great news for the club, as it’s looking like all three top players could be on their bikes in the summer.

Liverpool are the favorites to sign Jose, but it’s an open question if they can match the deal Newcastle have offered the Spanish U21 International, which is said to be a bumper 5 year deal.

Since Jose has been on about £40K/week for the last four years, that could indeed be a deal that Liverpool may not be able to match – and we hope that’s the case.

It seems to us that Alan Pardew has a lot of work to do to keep his best players at the club, as he also attempts to bring top players like Cabaye to Tyneside.

It looks like it will be a very busy summer for Alan Pardew.

Hopefully Pards coming back will allow him to sit down with Enrique and push his contract through.

He is the most important in my eyes, Barton and Nolan not so much

Not really Ed, no bid deemed good enough has come in for Enrique plus we’ve offered him a new contract. Still possible he may stay.

Barton – No new contract but hasnt been linked with anyone since he blew the Everton and Liverpool rumours out of the water.

Nolan – Two bids so far rejected and two years left on his deal.

Granted they could all still leave but I doubt all three will be off thi summer.

anyone else a fan of barton over nolan? if you had to keep one between em, who would you kepp? i would go for barton anyday..

nolan only got those goals coz we were so thin upfront..

it’s pretty obvious pardew is gonna get a target man lik demba ba and pair him with a small striker so we can play long n short..

those who reckon best shola n loverboy is gonna start next season is delusional.

this is not basketball.. we’re not gonna draft/buy the best player available.. we gotta enter the transfer market based on the underlying needs of the team.

Southern Pride – That is a hard one but a think a Nolan just edges it for me as he can stick the ball in the net but Barton’s passing is diff class so I wont them both lol like someone above a think Barton Nolan Enrique will all stay, Barton not getting another contract after they couldnt agree still plenty time for him cause he wont move no were, Nolan got 2 year left and Enrique my gut feeling.

I’m sure the team arent a bunch of mindless zombies waiting for Nolan to lift their spirits.

Players come and go, they’re all professionals, they’ll get on with it.

Alright lads. Havent really commented on this whole gervinho business coz I find it quite tedious. But for all those asking if it’s going ahead I reckon it will. Only based on Ben arfa situation last year. We all wrote off possibility of it happening. But one lad was very vocal in his belief it was. I ragged him to death over it saying he was making stuff up but he was bang on the money. the lad was toonruz. He apparently knows someone inside club. So after all that I would trust if he says it gonna happen. probs be an announcement today. If he goes out on a limb and says it’s defo gonna happen then it will. Just my view but I hope he’s spot on again.

Nolan is a typical leader who Big Sam groomed over the years at Bolton .. might be hard if we get a offer we can’t refuse considering his wages..

    ToonTiote

The reason i say barton is because we have got a perfect box to box midfielder in cabeye..

I tend to watch any football when i’m free and have often caught many french games.. cabeye is a very good replacement for nolan coz he brings everthing nolan bring except leadership..

plus he’s younger, more speed n stamina n has a good passing game with a bit of flair (not HBA level though) =)

Joey Barton supplied so much quality ball to the front men last season which enabled us to score in abundance. Kevin Nolan scored important goals for us but at times looked unfit. Maybe he was but a good manager knows when a players legs have gone. Maybe its time to ship Nolan out. Barton is still quality and will be badly missed if he moves on. Enrique should sign his bubper new deal or feck off.

I dont think we’re prepared to bid £12m again though Juggalo.

We only bid so much in Jan because we had about 4 hours and we were desperate.

The club probably don’t want to pay anymore than £10m at a push now.
