Cabaye A Great Start – Now Get These Four Players

Yohan Cabaye has been  an excellent first acquisition for Newcastle this summer, and not only is he a very good  technically skilled player, but Newcastle also got him for a low €5M.

Charles N’Zogbia – can Newcastle get him back to Tyneside?

There are now just over three weeks  before pre-season training starts, and Alan Pardew will want to get at least another three players through the door by then – at least.

Exactly who those players will be we don’t know but if reports are to be believed here are four players who may be coming in.

  • Charles N’Zogbia – 25 years old    – Charles has done himself a lot of good over the last few months as he has continually praised the Newcastle club and their terrific fans.
A source close to the player says he left as a boy, and wants to return as a man, and having persuaded Yohan Cabaye to sign for Newcastle, it would be fitting if Newcastle can bring Charles back to Tyneside..
And although he had a bit of a spotty last 18 months at Newcastle, we think the fans will welcome him back – and at least if he comes – it’s because he wants to play for Newcastle again.
Charles would be a terrific buy if Newcastle can get him for £9M.
  • Neil Taylor – 22 years old    – It seems that Newcastle have the inside track on this young Welsh left-full back who can also play on the left wing, and he’s presumably available for just £1M from newly promoted Swansea.
But fans haven’t forgotten another signing from the Championship Newcastle made last summer – James Perch – who hasn’t made the grade on Tyneside, and just doesn’t look good enough.
Newcastle also signed Mike Williamson for a low £1M, and he has been a big success at the back for the Magpies and continues to improve.
One thing we do like about owner Mike Ashley is that his scouting staff seem very good, and make some good buys – like Check Tiote, Simpson and Williamson as three examples who cost only a total of £5M and are all starters at Newcastle.
From what we can tell, Neil  Taylor would be a very good buy, and he would be given the chance next season, either to fill in for Jose Enrique if he leaves – or challenge for a first team spot on the left hand side of the field.
And we have a feeling he will come in whether Jose Enrique stays or goes.
But we have to think the Spaniard will leave Newcastle in the summer, although Liverpool now  seem to be after Arsenal’s Gael Clichy for £5M, which is less than the £8M asking price for Enrique.
Mike Ashley will look at the situation as Neil Taylor and Shane Ferguson can fight it out for the left-back position and Newcastle will be at least £7M better off and Shane and Neil will be getting less combined than Jose’s wages.
  • Demba Ba – 26 years old –   It’s hard to know which reports in the papers are true, but if some of yesterday’s reporting is to be believed,  Newcastle are in a good position to get Demba Ba, although the Journal today is saying he is indeed a target, but will not be arriving imminently,  as Newcastle also check out other striker targets.
But as a free agent this Senegal International has already proved he can score goals in the Premier League, and Demba could turn out to be another bargain buy for the club. The only problem with this player is his knee, and whether that will prevent Newcastle signing him this summer, as it did at Stoke City last January.
  • Daniel Sturridge – 21 years old   – There hasn’t been too much news about Newcastle being interested in this 21 year-old top striker, and Daniel himself has said he will fight i tout at Chelsea.
But surely Newcastle can tempt the youngster to come to Newcastle, as we are also hoping that Alan Pardew will bring in two strikers this summer and not one.
Whenever we watched this lad play for Bolton he made the Lancashire side look so much more dangerous when he was in the side, and if Newcastle don’t want to buy him we could challenge Bolton to get him on a season-long loan deal – but we really like the look of this player.

Those are some of our thoughts, and we think all four players would be excellent buys for the club – at around £20M for the four.

And notice we didn’t even mention Gervinho or Kevin Gameiro – as it doesn’t look like either player will be arriving at Newcastle, although we could be wrong on that – we hope we are wrong on that.

😀

So who have I missed out?

Those four, plus Marvin Martin, and I think it would be the best transfer window in years and years and years, regardless of who we let go…

Next up has to be the classy little striker. That would be someone in between Messi and better than Owen.

When do the squad numbers get put out? Is it August, or can they assign them now, as long as they are confirmed by August?

That’ll teach me to stop reading after you mentioned the 5 players, noticed you mentioned him in your conclusion 🙂

Still think we have a good chance to get him. Talksport claimed Arsenal had signed him yet the Lille chairman came out and said Tottenham are the only club to put a bid in for him, I know who i’d rather believe..

A quality striker. Not Ba, someone else, to partner him. Someone with pace, trickery and skill.

I think we need to becareful on who we bring in next, we’ve been focusing on to many first team players and forgetting about bench players. The names already mentioned such as the likes of N’zogbia and Sturridge will not be happy sitting on the bench or even being subtituted after 70min! .. would the likes of Jonas Gutierrez be happy sitting on the bench next season?

    Possible new squad numbers?

    4. C. Tiote
    5. S. Taylor
    7. Y. Cabaye
    10. H. Ben Arfa

That’s if the players occupying 4, 7 and 10 depart.

I’ll hold judgement for a few weeks yet. This may well be another window where we are linked with everybody and get virtually no one.Lets not lose sight of Vukic and Kadar, we have to bring these lads on this season – and whats Lua Lua saying he wants a move to Brighton for! – surely he is another who should be in the 1st team squad.I’m afraid I still have no confidence in Pardew

Ed if we buy all those 4 players with Sturridge on loan we’ll have barely spent anything of the £35million.

Add Marvin Martin to that list then I’ll be happy.

From the back, Harper to mentor 1st choice Krul and /or FF. Bid for Aurier to replace simmo at RB as he is not there yet. We have a screaming need for a new centre half, everyone bangs on about attacking players but i think we need a Samba/Huth/Hangeland type, what aboot Dann from brum? LB is still a mystery until el Toro shakes his heed and realises that Liverfool are more deluded than us. Id get rid of Jonas, no end product and replace with the Zog. Keep guthrie as squad player, barton cant go – that would be stupid given his form and iron will. I will drive Nolan to fat Sam for 10 lambert silver and some monster munch, no pace, fat and stands there saying Livermong are a greater club for AC than we are, SMB slayer aside, I say f%$koff to scouseland fatlad. Now the whole Gervinho/gameiro thing is media driven – if they dont want to become legends at our beloved club then let them warm benches at aloof, spineless, rich clubs like citeh/Arse-nil. Get sturridge- dont tell me you havent noticed he is THE ONE to get this summer, try as hard as you can Pardew to make this happen and try to claw back some credability from the AC debacle. Welcome to the ToonArmy Cabeye HWTL

not a chance of getting Sturridge, if you look how much Carroll cost, £35mil and how much Liverpool have just bought Henderson for – £20 there’s not a chance Sturridge is going to be any less then those two, and i can’t see Cashley spending more then £10mill on a player…

All this speculating is getting really boring now, so what if Ed didn’t put Gameiro or Gervinho on his list of players he realistically think we will get what Ed thinks or what any of us think is all conjecture what really matters is what Ashley,Pards and Carr thinks, so everyone spouting bullsh!t give it a rest and let the club do their job.

That would be a great spending sprere. though I think they will do better bargains than an overpriced Sturridge. I also think we definateley need a better right back. It looks like our weekest position at the mo. Especially since we are going for a 4-3-3 set up

marvin martin won’t come here because manchester united want to buy him… and if you have to choose between them and us… well unless your a fan of newcastle i think we know the answer…

Also there is news today about the race for gervinho been 1 man city 2 arsenal 3 newcastle…

I bet if we get him he turns out shit and if arsenal get him he is like a new fabregas 😛

One more thing.. in Spain players Can’t sign contracts till they are 18 so can’t we go over there and get some yougsters from barca’s camp to be prof’s in england ( minimum 16 ) As that is what arsenal did with fabregas( the bought him when he was 16 and look at him now 😛 ) barca got screwed 😀

sunderland havnt bid for Zogbia and if they do it will certainly not be 12million upfront.. no one does tht these days except us.. it works out better if they do it over stages but we dont want extra debt..
    QUESTION.?
Does anyone know if clubs paying payments over years does tht come off your revenue recieved? just with these new regulations coming in i think if say a club gets 30million in revenue so they not allowed to spend more than 30million but if a club is making payments of like 6million a year does tht come off the 30million? because if so we could be a very healthy club in a few years time
