It’s not hard to understand why Newcastle will get most of their players in the future from France.
Yohan Cabaye – Newcastle is a legendary club
Newcastle have an excellent name in France, which has been made even better last season by the way in which they have handled Ben Arfa and his broken leg, as the 24 year-old has painstakingly recuperated at the Clairfontaine Football Academy, just south of Paris from his double fracture.
The other aspect in Newcastle’s favor is that the wages paid in France are fairly low, and players get increased wages in the Premier League, as we have witnessed with new signing Yohan Cabaye.
Yohan talked to the Newcastle press corps after his signing, and talked in glowing terms about Newcastle:
“I am very happy to be in Newcastle. It’s my first transfer and I am joining a big, legendary club,”
“There was talk of Liverpool and Arsenal but Newcastle were the club who made the move for me and I really like Alan Pardew’s strategy and how he told me he wants to play.”
“I heard of other interest, but I didn’t hesitate for one second to join Newcastle because they have an ambitious project.”
Yohan was polite and well mannered during his interviews last night, which were done through an interpreter, and he has already been looking at property in the Newcatsle area.
It seems he wants to quickly buy a house in the area and settle, and that’s a good sign he is already fully committed to Newcastle.
We only want players who want to play for Newcastle, and it’s very obvious that this Frenchman would have swam over the English Channel to sign for the club.
That’s good enough for us.
Comments welcome.

If N’Zogbia is telling everyone to join us me must be joining himself
this will quiet the people that think hes got a bad attitude. He just helped us get a top international CM

I quite like how the team is shaping – ur really talkin abt class players.. colo, enrique, tiote, cabeye, ben arfa… add a few more in there n u should build a tight unit…top 8 aint outta reach.
13 magpie6699 // Jun 11, 2011 at 11:10 AM
I am guessing that, a bit like Tiote when he first started, he will be one of those players who go about their business quietly and efficiently, rather than being spectacular dribblers for example – the sort who are most valued by managers and colleagues – and gradually by the fans. At least I hope so.

Appears to be a good deal, let’s hope that more follow.
So nufc have “an ambitious project”, if that’s true then we should see some decent signings in this transfer window. Ashley has a lot to prove to the supporters, but this appears to be a good start.

We have officially turned down a bid from West Ham for Nolan!

@Southern Pride
We have no class forwards.
The midfield is looking stronger.
The defence needs strengthening.
Our first eleven might look fantastic but we don’t have any strength in depth bar CM.

@southern pride
Good point.
It’s just the start of the transfer merry go round, so only time will tell. It’s a good start though and just a reminder, Ben arfa and gosling are really like new signings, so there’s already a big change.
I do agree though that strikers are a must and the odd defender wouldn’t go amiss.

Nzogbia was telling cabaye how good it was to play for newcastle on twatter about a week ago while they were playing for france. The way his messgaes were put across was that he is coming back to us. he was talking as pre tence as oppose to post tence
20 loughy // Jun 11, 2011 at 11:20 AM
or past tence lol

And it appears the influence of N’Zogbia – who is keen on a move back to Tyneside from Wigan – played a big part too.
“I spoke to Charles N’Zogbia and David Rozehnal before joining Newcastle. They both said it was a good choice to come to Newcastle,” he said.
“They said I would have a great time, especially with the fans.
“And those fans appear special. Before signing for Newcastle, I watched some videos on the internet, and particularly the game against Sunderland when Newcastle won 5-1.
“I could see there was a great atmosphere in the stadium, and I really want to see what it’s like to play at St James’ Park and in the Premier League.

N’Zogbia helped us get Cabaye. About time N’Zogbia returned home… Come back home NZOG!!

yea i totally agree.. but juz comin to think about it.. we got back from relegation a season ago n to still have an ounce of talent is refreshing.
I might just be optimistic but the way ppl here moan n groan is like we have the worst team in the league..

Anyone know what this update was on ssn? Apparently @msiDouglas has been told he will only be reporting on gervinho once a season! Time everyone for us to move on bigger and better!
30 BigKirky // Jun 11, 2011 at 12:16 PM
I think the n zog thing looks promising. Just gotta hope he’s that bit more mature. Look at anelka for example, as hes got older hes definately matured since wanting to sign for real Madrid.
Barton on the whole has matured too as well as others. Just hope zog is and realises that the grass isn’t always greener goin elsewhere.
